what can i say about wegmans that hasn't already been said? when they first opened the location in the garden state park shopping center, i was a loyal shop rite (also on route 70) shopper, reluctant to change b/c of a preconceived notion that wegmans was more pricey than other grocery store chains. but after exploring other local grocery stores, wegmans is consistently cheaper across the board, with only shop rite coming close to prices, but the overall shopping experience is SO much better at wegmans that i haven't looked back. for a point of reference, the other stores i compared against were shop rite of cherry hill, and superfresh and acme of westmont. the cherry hill store usually has several samples available, ranging from fruits and veggies, seafood, sushi, and cheeses. their produce selection is the best in the area and i often find myself more than happy with their own brand of products, with limited exceptions (their lowfat sour cream is bland, light muenster cheese tastes like wax, and light hamburger and hot dog rolls wind up moldy in hours unless they are used or frozen). they are continually expanding their line of wegmans brand products, now with many gourmet or upper end items. plus, i find that if you suggest a product on their website, there is a chance you will see it in the store down the line (like i did with roasted red peppers). they have also recently opened self-checkout lanes, although these could uses some oversight as too often, people with a full cart stumble their way thru the checkout inefficiently and against the entire point of these lanes to begin with. their menu magazine has a lot of great ideas and recipes, and oftentimes these will be sampled in the store. their weekly circular could use some work, however, as only a few of the sales are displayed. otherwise it's up to the shopper to find them as they browse the store. one of my favorite features of wegmans is that the deli has pre-cut slices of common coldcuts and cheeses, which streamlines the entire deli order process. i try to go early in the day on weekends to avoid the crowd, b/c as one reviewer put it, there are too many clueless people parading around the store when the place gets crowded. lastly, the mt. laurel store has opened a great wine/beer/liquor department, but at the expense of the food side of the store. they rearranged the store in a way that doesn't make sense to me, and it also makes that store entirely too dense with shoppers. so if you need some wine or booze, go ahead to mt. laurel, but if all you need is food, then go to cherry hill. i've also found the mt. laurel location to be out of items more frequently. so i advise you to take the plunge, even if its a bit of a drive for you to get there. you probably have never experienced a store like this one and you won't leave disappointed. i can't imagine doing my regular grocery shopping at any other store. read more

i love love love wegmans!!! when they first opened i use to frequent the supermarket 1-2 times a week just to browse each aisle. if you like to cook or attempt to cook, the meat section is amazing!!! you can even fake it to your friends and family, as they have pre-made things that you can put into the oven! their bakery is equally impressive! they have a sushi bar too...i'm not sure if you can do made to order though. wegmans is particularly known for their organic selections. they are a bit "pricey" in comparison to the "regular" supermarkets in NJ. ps: me and a friend needed last minute gifts for a friends baby's first birthday and wegmans was there for us! LOL.. it was easter sunday so it was the only place open!!! that shopping center is HORRENDOUS on traffic and parking. read more

We love Wegmans. The selection is huge, particularly for prepared foods and international items. The employees are SUPER friendly and helpful, and we've always had great customer service. I submitted an email online because we weren't happy with the prepared pizza we purchased, and I received a very thoughtful email stating that the manager left a gift card for the cost of the pizza for me to pick up at customer service. The Wegmans brand products, especially the deli meat, are fantastic. The meat is great as well, and the prices are extremely reasonable. read more

ok-so being from the south has its perks, for example, i know sweet tea when i taste it and lipton just isnt cuttin' it and hello mcdonalds, take a lesson from lipton, cause your tea, is not even worthy of those 3 little letters, t-e-a. but seriously, the people in the south would stroke out if wegmans showed up on their radar. The first time i stepped foot in this glorious place with my husband, i was moved to tears, literally people, tears. it is the home depot of grocery stores. First of all, the selection can never be beaten, EVER, EVER! The meats, the fishes, the shellfish, the cheeses, the organics, the frozen isles, the wegman's brands (which are the HEAT in case you were wondering!), the international foods - so many good things to choose from and at low LOW LOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW prices, which still blows my mind. We got double the food(and drinks), for just a little more than we usually spend at super fresh (bleech), with none of the attitude. Plus one more thing i would like to add, Wegmans sells WATERFORD CRYSTAL! I had to call my mamma from the store just to tell her how all the people in the south are missing out on crystal in their sub-par grocery establishments. take that, suckers. read more

I've been in love with Wegmans ever since they came to Cherry HIll. Very clean, friendly staff, with a diverse offering of groceries, organic food, & pre cooked meals. The produce is always super fresh, & the meat/fish/poultry is also pretty darn fresh. I try to stop by Wegmans when I'm in jersey visiting my family. The only thing I wish Wegmans had, would be more sales on yogurt, since I'm constantly stockpiling it for my boyfriend! .66 cents for 1 yogurt is expensive, usually its 2 for a $1 at other grocery stores. Choosing where to live in the area when moving to town was easy when I found out that there was a Wegmans down the street. I am a huge fan of Wegmans. The selection is fantastic and far ranging. I would not suggest going during "peak times," which make the store almost impossible to navigate - so far, I've found weekdays between 4-6, and Saturdays and Sundays between 10-6. I'm particularly appreciative of the wide selection of organic foods, both produce and meats/seafood, since I don't want to pay Whole Foods/Whole Paycheck prices but still get great quality. Wegmans fills this niche nicely. I've never eaten at this Wegmans's prepared food selection, but I have at another one and I'm sure the experience is similar. Wide selection charged by weight. The thing that I have noticed between this Wegmans and my former Wegmans is that the people in the area seem to be in a huge rush all the time and less courteous than in other places in the country - probably more a reflection of the culture in the area than anything else. If Whole Foods and the average grocery store hooked up, Wegmans would be their love child. This is my favorite grocery store because they have everything! They have freshly prepared ready-to-eat meals available with a place to sit and eat upstairs, which is great for grabbing a quick bite. Half of the store carries typical run-of-the-mill groceries while the other half carries organic and fresh produce. The store always looks clean, which is very important. There is also a Wegmans liqour store (with great prices) connected to the grocery store. This is a big plus for us New Jerseyians who do not always have the luxury of being able to buy alcohol in our grocery stores. I love Wegmans! It is a one-stop shop for all your essential grocery needs! read more

I posted an online review on this site several days ago. It described a recent incident at the Cherry Hill Wegmans in which I had been treated by a Wegmans employee in a completely demeaning, degrading an insulting manner. In my review (my first ever) I indicated that this was in contrast to my past experience with Wegmans, and in contrast to most of the reviews before mine. I described in this review how I felt that this was one of the top few most horrific customer experiences that I had experienced at any retail establishment in my entire life. Well, that review has disappeared. Apparently Wegmans has pressured this site into removing my it. Let me convey to all readers including those at Wegmans and Yelp that this experience really happened. Others can judge if they will let it impact their choice of supermarkets. I get around in my travels and I have probably shopped at every supermarket chain in the area, this may put a crink in your shorts but I don't think Wegmans is all that, what I look for in a supermarket is quality, cleanliness, selection and price. yes Wegmans are clean but they fail miserably in their MEAT departments, their meats are prepacked, that means they are cut somewhere, probably out west, they are then packed in gas , boxed and shipped to a wharehouse and then shipped to the store, if you go to any Shoprite their meats are fresher, and they have more of a selection, 1 week ago Shoprite had top round londons on sale for $169 lb , rib roast for $499 lb, this week Shoprite had bonless pork loin for $149 lb, if you bring them to the butcher he will slice it dice it and even ground it for you, Wegmans might have marble counters but their meats arer not fresh and the selections are terrible. Bakery department the pies and cakes look terrific but how do they taste ? kiinda of bland, I'm sorry , if I want Italian pastry I'll go to an authentic Italian bakery, right off of 9th street we have more than one that are great, Wegmans wants top dollar but the flavor is just not there, they look great but where is the flavor ? I ate at Wegmans more than once at the Cherry Hill store and at the Warminster store, sorry Wegman fans over priced and again bland food, , try the hoagie, omg it looks like it is going to be the best sandwich you will ever eat, but it conks out after the first bite, I believe it is the bread, it just does not have it, and why would you pay a premium price for Chinese food and you have to wait on yourself ! I was more impressed with the new Shoprite in Cinaminson, their bakery is outstanding, and their prices are lower. Another way I judge a supermarket is selection, again wegmans does not compare, whereas Shoprite will carry dozens of variety of dish soap, paper towels, etc wegmans carries less variety, I can get Shoprite onion rye for $169, it is terrific, the closes thing wegmans has is over $3, and iot is not as good Shoprite Spicy brown mustard is better than Guldens and anything wegmans carries and it is only 99 cents I think wegmans ia all hype and for people who like to be seen in all the "in" stores (posers), I have dinner for 20 every sunday so I am probably not your average poster here who makes grilled cheese once a week read more

OMG. The beauty of the layout of this super-grocery store literally took my breath away. An astonishing prepared foods section. A cold case devoted solely to salmon. A cookie bar. And aisles upon aisles of gleaming food! A cheese shop with wedges and brie concoctions that I hope to dream of for the rest of my life. There's an entire organic section and a vitamin section that is really nice. The only downside is that this location doesn't sell alcohol. So it's not a one-stop shop. read more

I have heard lots of good things about Wegmans on the 'Net. I visited last year for the first time. I was impressed. I was shopping for one specific item, tri-tip, and they were all out. But the produce and meat sections were awesome. I returned today again looking for tri-tip. They had it today. They serve smaller cuts than I would like at a much higher price than I would like, but I still purchased one. We picked up a few other items too while we were there. The asparagus they were selling was spectacular! It is larger than most grocery stores. Its decor is definitely upscale and it has many specialty items one will not normally find in their local market. I would shop at Wegmans more frequently if it were closer. read more

I love Wegmans. I'm from Upstate NY-Rochester area-and this reminds me of home. It's awesome that I can drive so close from my house in Philly to shop at Wegmans. They can't even be compared to Shoprite or Acme. They are that good. The cheese, bread, produce, and ESPECIALLY the selection of pre-made high quality meals-like sushi, salads, pizza, anything you can think of are soooo good. The prices aren't much higher than Shoprite, and I often find that the prices are better, especially for milk. I enjoy grocery shopping here and always find new things to try. The Wegmans store brand of food is also great and I always buy it because it's cheaper and higher quality. And I love that they have self checkout lanes for when it's busy and you just want to get in and out. They also have beautiful flowers for sale. I clearly have an addiction to Wegmans. I never shop anywhere else unless I'm desperate and need an ingredient at last minute. FYI- the cheese bread is insanely delicious, and they can slice up the whole loaf if you ask. I also found that the deli section is efficient, at Shoprite I swear I wait 30 minutes for half a pound of meat. read more

Wegman's sells a lot of nice organic food. The thing I hate about Wegman's is too often they move their suppies and I wander the store aimlessly for 15 minutes searching for what I want. I loathe it. Leave the food where people are used to finding it. I would switch stores in a heart beat to have a store that left things where they normally are found. read more

I have a mixed feelings about Wegmans. On one hand, I love the variety of foods. They carry many natural and healthy products, including a whole section of natural and specialty diet products; the prepared foods are always amazing; the produce is always fresh; and they have a huge selection of many items, such as cheeses, fresh olives/Mediterranean bar. They have a large (for a food shore) book and magazine section, lots of kitchen tools, home goods, and seasonal items. For a food store, Wegmans has a bit of everything. My main problems with Wegmans is the layout of the store. It seems that every time I go in there looking for something specific, I have to check 2-3 places. For example, the other night I needed some hazelnuts. I first hit up the bulk foods in the natural foods area, since I know they have bins of nuts there. Plenty of almonds and walnuts, but no hazelnuts. Then I went down to the regular grocery area to check the snack nut aisle. No luck there, either. Finally, I found another bulk food area, which contained mostly candy, but had a small section of additional nuts, and was able to find hazelnuts. If I go to Wegmans with an actual list of groceries to buy, forget it. I have to scour ever aisle of the entire store to find everything on my list. Things which seem to make sense to be in the frozen food aisle may actually be found in a totally different frozen area by the meats. The order of the aisles in the main grocery section seem to make no sense, and I always have to check every aisle. There are many little nooks and crannies to this store that one must check in order to find everything they are looking for. While I like the variety that Wegmans offers, I can't do my regular grocery shopping here. I would take double the time as I do in Shop Rite. Parking can also be a nightmare. The parking lot for this entire shopping center is a car v. pedestrian accident waiting to happen. I also miss the monthly coupon books that they used to mail out. Those were great, and definitely got me into the store more often for a free bag of baby carrots or $1.00 off a dozen eggs, etc. I have little incentive to go to Wegmans, except for the convenience of location over Whole Foods if I am home and need something quickly. read more

There are only two things that bring me voluntarily to Jersey. 1) Cheap liquor 2) WEGMAN'S!!! Where do I even start? Prepared foods of all kinds (hot/cold, killer subs), large ethnic food section, produce that is fresh and local, flowers, world cheeses, general household goods- they have everything. It is a little more expensive the larger chain stores but worth the beauty and endless selection. This store is great. They carry Izze drinks which nobody else does, so I am definitely a fan. However, the store is unbelievably huge and can be confusing to find your way in. It's also ALWAYS packed with hundreds of people everywhere you look, which can be unpleasant when you're in a hurry to get what you need and leave. read more

From the many stories I have heard they do the very opposite and mislead the public to think they represent a family store. I won't ever shop in a store that mistreats the people who work endless hours to make them a successful, thriving company. The store is ok. the parking lot is chaos I avoid it at all cost and the traffic doesn't help.. For those of you wondering why the store is not attached here is the reason: Wegmans could not put the liquor store inside because of NJ law. They are a huge company and can only have a certain number of licenses in their name. This way things can be fair for mom and pop liquor stores. Otherwise they would all go out of business but apparently they found a loop whole and part of the deal was they could have the license but could not attach it or have it in the store. So again big business wins! and those 6 dollar bottles probably cost a quarter! read more

Great store. Well stocked. Good prices. Good butcher and fresh produce. Rarely have an issue. It's our go-to store. The only reason not 5 stars isn't even their fault. As others have mentioned, the parking lots around the store are nuts. I'm not sure what gets into people around that shopping center, but I've never encountered more crazed, impatient, rude and dangerous drivers than here. And it seems to extend into the store as people continue being aggressive with their attitudes in the store. read more

I went here for an interview and was blown away with its warmness and the cute coffee shop and $6 meals! I just don't understand why I wasn't hired.
