I took a gamble and stopped at this place located at a busy intersection in Shirlington just off 395 across the street from a gas station and temp day labor pick up lot. The Combo #1 - Philly cheese steak sub, fries, and soda was excellent. The cheese steak was classic Philly style. Fresh tomato and small amount of lettuce. Perfect blend of lean shredded steak, cheese, and a heavenly brown sauce served on a fresh sub roll. The fries were a generous helping of piping hot seasoned steak fries. Open from 6am - 6pm. Lots of parking in their lot. I'll go there again for sure. read more

This spot has good food. Huge menu and much to choose from . The guys in the back are pleasant and very nice. The owner ( the older lady) she is very confused and nasty. She doesn't wear her mask and she gets upset with you if you ask for a bag for your food. I understand about saving the earth but you serve your food in Styrofoam, so you cant be to worried about the environment. read more

Half smokes are delicious to me! Im nervous to try anything else because I usually stop in route to work or home so it would be hard to return if needed. Cheap prices also-which definitely helps. Customer Service-no comment. Having to go menus would definitely help; I checked the website also and there is nothing available. I've noticed their customers may be "regulars". Great food, cheap prices... must get the HALF SMOKE with everything... anyone who doesn't like, it's $3 a half smoke at a hole in the wall, not a filet from a five star joint... I've never ordered anything but a chili dog, chili smoke, half smoke and fries -- all amazing. Make sure to bring cash I don't think they take CC but I'm not sure so don't hold me to it. I was getting dressed one morning when I thought, "where does the W&OD trail end?". So, I donned a trackie and hopped on my bike; 28 miles later, I found myself in front of a shack next to a day-labour shelter. The best hot-dogs seem to come in the ugliest shacks: Nathan's, Ben's Chili Bowl, and Beenie Weenie. Delicious dogs and chili with a pleasent atmosphere. I ate here during lunch time and stood in a long line of regulars watching the folks in the shack greet them all by name. I ordered a chili half-smoke with a Coke and sat down at one of the picnic tables. While I ate my lunch, I watched an amazing impromptu soccer match at the day-labour shelter across the street. On the side of the shack are the Ten Commandments in English and Spanish, not really sure why but it's an unusual touch. As I finished my very filling chili dog, I realized I needed to bike another 28 miles to go back to my house. read more

You don't eat them so much as incorporate them. They easily become part of your look for the day. This is adventure eating. We stopped here today to grab a quick lunch... and quick it was! Hubs had chili dog and fries. I had chicken sandwich with honey mustard. I'm not sure how one can make s chicken sandwich with honey mustard "magical" but they did!! The roll was soft and slightly sweet, grilled chic done perfectly and just the right amount of honey mustard. Per hubs, hotdog was very good -- exactly what you would expect. The fries however are better than you would imagine. They seem like hand cut wedges of potato , spiced up nicely and deep fried. Yum We consumed our food in about 15mins it was so good! Go there. All I can rate Weenie Beenie on is their chili dogs, that's all I have ever gotten since I was a kid. They are still great! YUM!! The only bad thing is the day labor coral across the street. They apparently will surround your car asking for work from you if you park on that side. While we were there they surrounded an off duty police officer. He quickly showed his badge and told them back the F up and get away from his car. Very entertaining. read more

Decent no frills good hot dog at a fair price. Hot dog/chili dog under $3 in this avereage for anywhere else, but in this town a good dog at a good price...BARGAIN!!! Only gripe, bun is a little thin and small, doesn't seem to match the dog well. But tasted fine, dog was great just a no-nonsense good ol' fashioned American dog. read more

HiI've been coming to this place for the last couple of months since I start working in VA everything was okay everyone there seems to work pretty hard but what I didn't know is that they don't value their customers they expect you to pay for something you didn't get so I order my usual chicken salad sandwich which is around $6 with tax never had a problem today it was like so many people out there and they seem very overwhelmed I believe I got the last bit of the chicken salad which was like a spoonful spread real thin like peanut butter on the bread with lots of lettuce and very little chicken salad also it didn't taste right I think the mayonnaise or something was old so I went back at the end of the day to complain and he wouldn't correct the problem I wasn't offered another sandwich I wasn't offer a refund nothing and when I said I didn't appreciate this and I wouldn't be coming back he pretty much said good is this how you treat your customers also as I was talking to him they was making a chicken salad sandwich for a guy and they put a lot of chicken salad on his sandwich I don't know I work hard for my money I only want what I paid for but I don't want to be short Change either if the company see this I will really appreciate a response read more

Blink and you'll miss this little place on Shirlington Road. It is in a tiny building and has no seating either indoor or outdoor, but that's part of its charm. There aren't enough cheap eats restaurants anymore that offer an old-fashioned walk-up-and-order experience. Weenie Beenie offers diner-type food: burgers and fries, chili, grilled cheese, pork barbecue, etc. It's great for grabbing lunch on the run at a low price. Their grilled cheese is really, REALLY good. I wouldn't drive out to Arlington for the purpose of coming here, but I expect that I'll be paying Weenie Beenie a visit when I'm in Virginia for work. read more

I sold 1000's of half smokes in my day (at Sears on Wisc Ave) and think I know my way around one. What WB sells is not worth pulling off the road, and certainly not worth the wait (a good 10 minutes, 5 to place your order, 5 more to get the food). "It's a decent hot dog", as my partner said, but, no more. The 'home fries" were, um, ok: real potatoes, adequately spiced. P'haps the NC BBQ is worth it, but, I don't think we'll chance it. I guess, the rusty, rotting "Weenie Beanie" sign should have given us a clue: it saw it's best, 50 years or more ago. read more

I don't know why it took me so long to try Weenie Beenie given that I've lived within walking distance for over 15 years, but given all the self-induced hype (how could you not like a place called Weenie Beenie?), I was slightly let down. I love a good half smoke and hot dog stands in general and while it wasn't bad, it didn't blow my socks off. There were more onions than chili sauce or mustard, and they're chopped so large they dominate the dog. I definitely wasn't a fan of the fries which were thick cut wedge fries with a spiced coating, not crispy in the least. Next time I go, I might ask for them go light on the onions and up the sauce and mustard to see if that makes a difference because sooner or later I'll be craving a hot dog. read more

Always a great stop when you need a quick eat the reminds you of a country grease spoons truck stops.

Pretty good. Service fast. I have only had the Carolina BBQ sandwich. Enjoyed it. Great for lunch when you are in a hurry.
