I knew that my filters needed to be replaced. The water circulation wasn't moving as fast as I…read morethought it should. And the dirt didn't seem to be taken up no matter how much I swept it to the intakes. I was able to book an appointment with Excellent Pool Services and I explained I have the filters, o ring, and lube, just need the muscle to put the filter container back together again. Anderson was my technician and you'll see the old and new filters. Gross doesn't even come close. He cleaned out the bottom half and I got the top half. He pulled the drain plug and cleared all the assembly pieces. He totally cleared where the o ring sits. Recommended that I replace the 2 piece valve that sits on top and which piece uses plumbers tape and which doesn't and why. And that's for starters! My pool test strips-nope. Get the test that uses the liquids. Chlorine tablets-nope. Use the liquid type made for pools. Not household stuff for those who are new to pools. He told me how to clear the calcium ring around my pool from using chemicals that a chain pool place told me to use. A pumice stone. He told me where I can go to get parts and supplies. I feel like I am in class and I surely needed to take notes! He recommended that I not cover the pool in winter. I have tried so many ways to do so and now I know to not use chlorine and just keep the pool clean. I know I have the right company when their technician takes the time to explain the how's and why's to take care of your pool. I'm not good at the difference in the acids but i have the wrong kind at the moment. I'll get the right kind for sure. I found out mine is a fiberglass pool. I knew it wasn't vinyl but I would've guessed concrete. My pool water is circulating with power now. Its got new chlorine liquid working its magic right now. I'm going out to scrub my walls again and get this pool cleaned up fully so I can test it and get IN it!!! Its hot out here!!! Anyone who takes the time to explain whats what to help you maintain this wonderful yard accessory is A OK in my book. Thank y'all so much. I now have a company to help me when I need it!!! Thank you Yelpers for recommending!!!

These guys are a lifesaver. Easy to get a hold of, superb communication…read more I had to cancel my last pool service due to various issues from inappropriate and duplicate invoicing to lying about whether or not they've actually cleaned. My old pool service charged me additional money to fix a leak in my pool pump but then said they were unable to fix it but did not refund the extra $400. I then had an algae bloom immediately after cancelling and needed to hurry and find a new pool service. Excellent Pool Service offered me the most reasonable price out of the other six local pool companies I contacted. My pool had gotten so bad that you couldn't see the floor anymore. They drained my pool, scrubbed the walls, changed the pool from salt to chlorine, cleaned the filters, and they even fixed the leak in my pool pump for less than what my previous company charged but they actually fixed it. They also helped with my control panel and saved me hundreds of dollars. I was so impressed that I just had to have them for maintenance. When they say they come out every week to clean, I know and trust that they're out here every week to clean.

We had been using this company for our regular monthly pool maintenance. Our pool was recently…read moredrained as part of a remodel and was scheduled to be refilled on Friday. I contacted him in advance and asked if he could come Saturday or Monday to get the water properly treated and balanced. He told me he couldn't come until Thursday. Since I didn't want a newly filled pool sitting that long without being properly treated, I told him I understood and that we would find another pool maintenance company that could come sooner. I then asked him to refund the unused portion of the $150 monthly service fee, since he had only performed one service that month. Instead of simply discussing the cancellation and refund professionally, the conversation became extremely hostile. He told me, "You pay thousands of dollars for a remodel, yet you won't pay me $200?" and eventually called me a "low-life" and said he "could wipe my ass with that money." I understand that there can be disagreements about charges, and I had no problem paying another company for the chemicals and startup service. My issue was the way I was spoken to simply because I chose to discontinue the service and requested the unused balance back. Unfortunately, after the way this situation was handled and the personal insults I received, I would not use this company again. Update after the owner's response: His response unfortunately reinforces the reason I decided to change companies. I did not cancel because I was looking for free service or because I did not want to pay for chemicals. My new pool company charges me $159/month, which is actually more than the $150/month I was paying him. They also charge separately for the freshwater startup chemicals, which I agreed to pay. I have no issue paying for services or chemicals. I changed companies because I was unhappy with the service and, most importantly, the way I was being communicated with. Even after I ended the service, the owner continued calling me "low-class" publicly in his response to this review. I think his own messages and response speak for themselves.

Stay away--sales-driven company with terrible weekly maintenance…read more I hired Priority Pools based on their high ratings, and over the course of more than a month under their care, my pool was green with algae. Key Issues: Constant Upselling: Right after onboarding, they tried to sell me unnecessary overhauls--including a new saltwater cell, completely missing that my pool already had a one-year-old salt system running. Poor Tech Knowledge & Reporting: The technician assigned to my weekly route didn't speak English, which doesn't have to be a problem, but he didn't seem to know I had a saltwater pool despite my messages to the company and they assured me that he was aware. Weekly reports lacked basic chemical breakdowns and only provided a photo of a meter. Weeks of Ignored Algae Blooms: Despite multiple messages alerting them to worsening algae over several weeks, proper testing (like CYA) wasn't done until a company leader flagged it when called me after I notified them I was cancelling. Offering free service doesn't fix persistent bad service. I had to hire outside help just to restore my pool. Look past the marketing and check their most recent 1-star reviews before hiring them. I don't take this review or my experience lightly, I don't do bad reviews.

-- Extremely Disappointed and Frustrated…read more I rarely write reviews, but I feel a responsibility to warn other homeowners about my experience with Big George's Pool Care. After a detailed and explicit conversation with the owner about not cleaning the filters on the road (due to HOA rules and the mess it leaves behind for me and my neighbors), they completely disregarded my request and did it anyway. This was not only disrespectful but also a clear violation of our community guidelines--something I made very clear upfront. On top of that, my spa was clogged for over a month, which I had to constantly bring to their attention. The clog caused a severe calcium buildup that destroyed the look of my tile. Instead of taking accountability, the owner brushed it off with, "Calcium builds up over time," and said I would need to pay another companymore to remove it. That's not just poor service--it's negligent. I've lived in my home for 7 years and never had buildup like this. My previous pool service would catch early signs and make recommendations before it got out of hand. Big George's took no such proactive care. Now I'm left with a spa that's downright ugly and embarrassing, and frankly, I feel taken advantage of. What was supposed to be regular pool maintenance turned into a costly headache. This is not professional service. This is a warning to anyone considering Big George's Pool Care: look elsewhere unless you want to clean up after them--literally and financially.
