While visiting my family in New Mexico, we visited this place and let me tell you... it was AMAZING! It has a retro 1950's decor, with vintage posters adorning the walls. Our waitress, Donna Jo, was WONDERFUL, very kind, attentive, and helpful. I wanted to order something that I wouldn't normally be able to have back in my home state, so I ordered the Navajo taco, and it took up the entire plate! Freshly made fry bread, topped with all of the tasty fixings-SO DELICIOUS!! The glasses for the drinks were HUGE! My favorite auntie, who's quite petite, looked like a toddler trying to hold a "big person" cup, lol! The prices are quite reasonable, especially considering the quality-and quantity-of food. Ate here after church on Sunday. There aren't many places in Los Lunas that offer gluten-free options, but Weck's offers a gluten-free menu and some of the staff seem knowledgeable about cross-contamination. We come here occasionally after church, and it's always busy, so I do sometimes worry about cross-contamination. The food is consistently good. I had the spinach and mushroom omelette, and my daughter, who is also gluten-free, had the papas bowl with bacon. Portions are generous. Overall good place for breakfast. read more

Used to be my favorite go to for breakfast. Today, not so much. Ordered biscuits and gravy, biscuits were rock hard. Terrible, but the still charged me full price for a plate I couldn't eat. Here's another review of Wecks , I'm sorry but I just love the place! I've probably been here 3X in the last month. We were actually on our way to Rio rancho to try something new but when we started talking about food me and my daughter decided to go back to Wecks. Now I know what New Mexicans say in the social groups that Wecks is not genuine New Mexican food but let me tell you I've been to dozens and dozens of restaurants in NM and Wecks is up there with the best of them. Giant portions, spicy chile red and green, great service, what more could you ask for? Two thumbs up from me again at one of my favorite breakfast restaurants. My husband and I have been coming to WECKS (almost) every weekend for about 15 or 16 years. It is our favorite place to eat. We do have our favorite waitresses, but they're ALL good at what they do!!! We are pretty disappointed that they just changed from waffle fries to regular fries. We were visiting Albuquerque for a quick visit and was recommended this place for breakfast. The service was very impressive. Everyone was very friendly and the service was quick. New Mexico serves good with a side of red or green enchilada sauce. You can ask for the sauce "Christmas style". I personally liked the red chile. I'm from arizona so this is new to me! I do understand waiting for full parties to be seated; but, consider your clientele. I explained it is 3 elderly ladies coming. One is in the parking lot. When 3 of us there ( one with a walker) the last of our party literally coming from across the street (at church). Still wouldn't seat us. Finally to get a table we said 3 possibly the 4th will come we were seated. The 4th arrived & we were scolded. Not a good look for the staff with elderly clients. After seated we were ok. Rock and roll vibes and great homemade food. We arrived close to closing, but were seated and able to get our food quickly without feeling rushed. Our waitress was very friendly and answered any questions about their large menu. My son got the pancake breakfast, my mom got the chicken fried steak and I got the T.G.G. sandwich. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food. All the portions were generous and everything was fresh and delicious. We had plenty of leftovers for later. This a great place for a family since there is something that everyone will like. Prices are also very reasonable for the quality and amount of food you receive. Hands down one of my favorite places to take my out-of-state family members. There's options for classic or classic with New Mexico flare or full-blown New Mexican brunch meals. As far as Wecks goes this is my least favorite one. Typically other locations offer me a tea to go. Today after one stop from our server (dropping off bill.. only other one bringing food out) I went to the front and requested to go cups. We hadn't been to Weck's in such a long time. The food is just okay. Their chile's are more of a sauce - gravy-like. The green has more flour than green and is more brown. The red is tastier. Great place for breakfast. Very friendly staff food came out fresh and fast. The Mr. had eggs over easy, bacon, hash browns and toast. I had a 3 egg omelet with ham and cheese, hash browns, a side of avocado and side of salsa. The only negative is that the coffee was lukewarm. Huge portions of really good food and just a down home atmosphere where you feel comfortable

On the 24th day of December, weary travelers venturing the Camino Real (Kings Highway) came upon a welcome sight. Realizing that the next day was Christmas, the travelers stocked up on green and red chile. OK. I'm taking some liberty on the tale of Coronado and the conquistadors but all I could think of driving to New Mexico was getting some Carne Adovada, green chile cheeseburgers, tamales and posole. Wecks is a chain of family restaurants covering central New Mexico and the food is excellent. Today was breakfast food and the traditional meal covered in chile didnt disappoint. Now, NM chile is NOT chili (as in Tex-Mex chili con carne) It comes in red or green varieties based on the actual chile plant. ( think red or green bell peppers) Green chile is made from a roasted chile pod, combined with garlic, spices, seasoning and some form of meat. Red chile is from the same chile pod after it has fully ripened, dried and ground. Wecks makes their own chile, both red and green. And today's green had a touch of heat!! Definitely had to wipe the sweat off the upper lip after a few bites of breakfast burrito. So if you're traveling along I-40, I-25 or in the Land of Enchantment, stop by Wecks Restaurants. Got a Weck deck sandwich & a taco salad which cost $33 with tip. I didn't think it was worth it. The bread was soaked with butter or margarine, the meat was extremely salty & the veggies seemed old & withered on my sandwich and salad . We sat on the patio & it was really cold because they have no heaters. I'd rather go to the range if I am gonna pay that much for a meal. read more

Hungover or just in need of a monster breakfast? This is your place. The cinnamon rolls are insane and the carnitas enchiladas are wonderful. It gets pretty busy but don't be intimidated, there may be a long line but they turn over the tables pretty quick. As quickly as they're trying to turn tables over, the wait staff was very friendly yet definitely in a hurry. 13 members of the Bernalillo Senior Center stopped in before our visit to the Los Lunas Historical Museum. The hostess made room for all of us in the same dining area, our food was awesome and the service was exceptional. I did not catch our waitress name (shame on me), she did an excellent job keeping up with all of our little requests. Thank you for making our trip sucessful. p.s. Came here two weeks ago and our portions were a lot smaller than before or at other Week's. We were told by the manager that the portions had not changed, but blamed it on a new cook. They have also raised their prices. Good plan, raise prices and skimp on the food. I came back and again the portions are not what they were. About half the meat that used to be on their Week's deck, the fruit is about 1/3 of what they used to serve, they are using is a lot smaller. And I ordered onion rings and I got three small onion rings. I don't think I will not be coming back. read more
