Food is excellent if u like Mexican cuisine. Service is OK. I usually frequent the smaller restaurant in Belen as its closer to home. However, I am not sure the squeeze bottle of honey on the table is genuine honey...I believe it is corn syrup or some thing equivalent..as the price of honey is $$. Just a huge serving of CFS and the side off eggs and hash browns are always great. CFS was crispy in the outside and tender in the middle. My only complaint if any is that they didn't really smother it with green chile like I asked, it barely had any. But other than that I had a great meal this morning that lasted me all day lol. I came in for lunch today right around noon. I ordered the #2 which consists of a cheese enchilada, chile relleno and ground beef taco. The relleno and enchilada were ok, but the taco was not good at all. In fact the ground beef tasted rotten. I'm sure it was expired or close to it. It costs extra for a tortilla or sopapilla which kinda sucks as well. The service wasn't bad and they weren't really busy. I've had breakfast here in the past and it was really good. But then again, I didn't have ground beef with it. So what I thought was gonna be a tasty lunch, instead left me with a bad taste in my mouth both literally and figuratively. It was a huge swing and a miss on Rutilio's part. I suggest you ask to sample the ground beef before ordering any menu item with it. Honestly, it was that bad. read more

We haven't been to Rutilio in a while. They remodeled the main dining area and it looks great. They have a cool counter facing the kitchen. Still have the great murals on the walls decorated in old Southwest. They are only open 7-2pm most days and they are often very busy. The menu is classic and New Mexican breakfast and lunch. It was really fun to see the changes. The food was good and served hot. I loved the homemade sausage with my eggs. They added a nice spice with scrambled eggs. The green chili was very good. It had a lot of flavor and a bite. I had to use it sparingly but it worked well with the eggs and papitas. My hubby had the waffle combo. The waffle was crispy on the outside and soft inside... just right. You could taste the hint of vanilla in the batter. It was great. My wife and I tried this place on Sunday. The food was prompt and delicious. My only needs improvement was the server. She was an older lady and never returned after we got out food. This meant no coffee or tea refills. So if you like good food but don't drink much this may be your place lol read more

I had the Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast. I seen pictures of it and had to see for myself on how big it is. It's humongous!! Took up the whole plate. Eggs were on spot (over medium)and the hash browns were good. Now for a extra $2.50 you can "Boss It" which is green chile and cheese with your white gravy. My waitress was phenomenal. The food here is always amazing. While I normally go for the huevos rancheros, today I chose the chicken fried steak (boss style). HUGE serving and everything was delicious as usual. I drove to Los Linas to have lunch with a friend. Thank you Yelpers for your reviews of Rutilio's. We got there after 1pm and they close at 2 but we never felt rushed. Briana was our server and she was amazing. We wanted salsa and chips. Nope. They were out. Briana suggested the guacamole and chips. It was really good with chunks of avocado like I like it. I got the #2 combo and paid a little extra for a beef enchilada. Everything was amazing. The beans. Rice. The relleno was soooo good. Beef taco with homemade shell. Yes please. Taking a Sunday ride with a group of friends and came across this restaurant. It was busy when we got here and had about a 30 min wait. That's a good sign. Got us in and seated. Drinks came quickly and were refilled promptly. The menu had a a decent selection to chose from. Veggie omelet with hash browns and the spinach omelet ordered our food was good, but a little skimpy on the fillings. But it was typical NM portions. One of our group ordered the chicken fried steak. It was enough to feed 2-3 people and was reported to be delicious. So good food, good service and you leave hungry it's your own fault. Definitely a good stop and deserves another stop read more

Went to breakfast this morning and we are still rather new to this area. We saw Rutilio's and decided, why not. We walked in and it was bigger than we thought and the hostess's were very nice and sat us right away. If you love Dr. Pepper this is the place for you, they had displays of very old Dr. Pepper postings and it was cute. Our waitress was great and made some awesome suggestions and she was right. Good food, good service, and a clean restaurant (and bathrooms, if I'm being honest!). Rutilio's met our expectations and more. Great food: huevos rancheros from the senior menu for me - a hearty portion with flavorful refried beans and a just right spicy green sauce for the eggs; blue corn breakfast enchiladas for my husband with perfectly cooked over-medium eggs and delicious cheese enchiladas. Excellent service - quick, pleasant, and on top of coffee refills plus tablets for order-taking! Everything was clean - showing pride of ownership I'm believing. What can I say, it had been 9 weeks (or so since I had dined inside a restaurant). We had dined on patios, but you don't get that same experience. So as soon as the restaurants opened we had to go out to eat! We took a little road trip to pick up some honey and decided to try Rutilio's. Let me say, this was the best decision ever! We pulled up and had to wait a little bit since the restaurants are only allowed to operate at 25%, but the wait wasn't too bad. Once we were called in, we were taken in, and sat down. That's when the goodness began! We were waited on by a phenomenal waitress! She was so kind and literally was the best waitress we ever had! She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely valued you as a customer! She was definitely a 10 out of 10! Waitstaff can make or break a dining experience, and she definitely made this a memorable and positive experience for us! On top of having an outstanding waitress, the food was super delicious! The tamale was so good! I had been dying to eat one for months! The taco, enchiladas, chile, and salsa made our day! Honestly, if you ever take a road trip to Los Lunas, this is the place to try! OUTSTANDING FOOD and AWESOME customer service! Today we ordered breakfast burritos and while on the phone, the woman Briana suggested a bowl of their green Chile stew! Omg! At 11:00 am! I took a chance! Everyone wants to say that suggesting a special doesn't work but I'm here to say: be a great server! Offer a suggestion or the special of the day! Save the customer a few dollars to earn their trust! Entice the customer with something new! Picked up our order and the burritos were HUGE! Compliments to the chef! They tasted so good! Los Lunas location: My favorite Mexican food stop since moving here from El Paso. The Serrano sauce is a must if you like it hot. The staff is always courteous and gets special orders spot on. Do yourself a favor and make this your next stop. You'll find it a regular stop in the future. read more

You can't go wrong at Rutilios'! The food and service is amazing! We had a group of six and everyone shared the same opinion... Perfection! I ordered the #2 combo and my husband ordered the #3 combo, which both came with three items. Each had one taco and one enchilada. We decided on different combos so we could try the beef tamale and a chili relleno. EVERYTHING WAS SO DELICIOUS!! The best part of our experience was how friendly and verbal the staff was. It felt like we stopped to have lunch with our favorite. Hands down the best experience we've had in years. MY husband is still going on about it. I'm sure we'll be taking the 45 min drive very soon. We arrived at noon and were seated at 1:30pm! While we were waiting with our pager, they started closing the doors(apparently, it was close to closing time), but they almost locked us out! In the meantime, we went inside to wait further to be seated. While waiting, I witnessed an elderly gentleman with a walker standing in the hall area, as there was really no other place for him to stand. A server came flying out of the kitchen when she rudely told him to move out of their way so they could serve food! I was appalled. Absolutely disrespectful. The food was decent, nothing to write home about, and our waitress was friendly and prompt. But due to the disrespectful server, we will not go back.
