She was also yawning very loudly with a customer telling her that she needed to go to bed. The food was very nasty. Graveyard shift. Upon being seated, we were presented with disgusting glassware. The glasses were covered in spots and visible mouth prints; one even contained a dead mosquito floating in the water. When we alerted the server to the contaminated drink, he dismissively responded, "So?" and immediately became aggressive. This hostility continued throughout the meal, as he appeared visibly upset by basic requests for coffee refills. The server consistently used his physical size to act menacing toward us. When my friend politely asked for the restroom code after the server returned from a break outside, the server snapped at him, made an aggressive remark, and barked that he was "in the way" and needed to sit closer to the table. Most alarmingly, while my friend was in the restroom, I overheard the cook suggest to the server that he should "beat my friend up." The server joked in response that his muscles were "just for show." This was the most unprofessional and unsafe dining experience I have ever had. From filthy conditions to actual threats of physical violence from the staff, I will never return. read more

An American classic, Denny's never disappoints! While on vacation, the family stopped in the San Mateo location for a traditional breakfast. We were warmly greeted and welcomed by the manager Nicholas, who was also our waiter. Nicholas was extremely attentive and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The food was delicious, as I went with the latest menu item of a juicy triple cheeseburger, while the kids ordered pancakes and the American Slam. All were delicious and amazing. The ambiance and vibe ewe very chill and relaxed, and exactly what we needed after a long day of travel. Moreover, the service was very fast and the restaurant and bathrooms were all clean and tidy. We arrived at 11:18am and got out of here at 12:30pm. Our waiter was very sweet and kept us company while we waited for our food. He grew concerned with our order because everyone else was getting their food and ours wasn't out. After an hour of waiting the waiter comes back and tells us that the cook ended up losing our order in which we were upset because an hour of waiting and everyone else that came before us got their food. We were overall disappointed because we go to this Dennys often so having this happened was not it. Then the manager was gonna come up to us and then she was like "give me one minute " we ended up losing it and just stormed out. How dare you call yourself a manager when you tell a family of 5 who's been waiting for more than an hour for food to "wait a minute "? Are you stupid? Like actually? Woman to woman I thought you as a manger would be more sympathetic about the situation, damn was I wrong. Woman manager do better at your job and learn customer service skills cause it's very needed. Also to the cooks I hope you learn how to keep a piece of paper on hand cause losing a ticket of an order is insane to me. Because I saw the waiter going up to all of you asking about the order and double checking multiple times. So also do better at your job. Also shout out to the waiter, I forgot his name but he had black hair, black beard, and spoke Spanish. He was the only one that actually tried to light up the mood, had good humor, and was apologetic about the whole situation. We came this morning because my kiddo loves Denny's. I'm not a huge fan but our service was amazing! Our waitress was very consistent with checking on us and even came back after I told her no to a coffee refill and I'm glad she did because I had changed my mind. My thought was "now I'm going to have to ask" because most servers don't do that. She wasn't checking on us too much though which was nice so we could talk. Her name tag said Ruby (: My boyfriend got the strawberry French toast slam which was good and I got the double berry pancakes breakfast which had fresh fruit that was perfectly ripe. My hunger lead me to Denny's on San Mateo. I actually wanted something simple like breakfast, eggs and potatoes but I turned the menu page and saw Burgers I was disappointed at first, until I noticed they offer Beyond Burger patties Oh yeah! I ordered the Classic Burger single with Beyond Burger with fries ( no salt) and my other half ordered scrambled eggs, hash browns and sausage. For a Sunday night , inside seating wasn't too bad andcwe were seated quickly. Most of their business was phone orders for pick up and they were busy. Our server was pleasant and took our drink order right away. Food order was taken pretty quickly also. I guess everyone got hungry right after we got in because this place was hopping . Our order took some time but we enjoyed our drinks. When it did come, our server apologized because she ordered the single but my burger was a double. That was fine, I was hungry and I didn't want to send it away. Besides, I had half a burger left to take home and enjoy Yes, I enjoyed that Burger and my guy liked his meal also. Excellent place! The usual Dennys standards for food, but the cleanliness was exceptional! The management goes out of their way to keep floors vacuumed, windows clean, every nook and corner was surprisingly clean. We returned the next day because of the great food and service and made plans to go there again. This San Mateo Dennys sets the bar a bit higher in these days when cleanliness is likely to be the first casualty of our labor shortage . Even five star restaurants aren't kept this clean. My husband and I went to this Denny's on San Mateo in June for my birthday, so I could have my free Grand Slam breakfast; the food that was served wasn't what I expected, it was very mediocre. The service we received was okay, but not the best; we're both seniors and they had some issues with deducting the free breakfast discount from the total bill, as well as not honoring our AARP card for an additional discount. The overall ambiance of the restaurant wasn't that great either, it didn't seem very welcoming and there weren't very many customers eating breakfast there when we walked in. This particular restaurant used to be alot better, but regarding it's location and area of town, it has gotten worse due to the homeless situation in Albuquerque. We won't be returning to eat there and I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone. Our experience could have been alot better. read more

Ok, first of all this establishment deserves every star on here! The food was honesty cooked as ordered and was so yummy! Kudos to the chefs! The entire staff were nice and attendant. Here is what I loved, everyone was genuinely happy. Everyone worked together. The place was packed but the manger went to the back and helped the cooks. I saw that and told my husband this place is rocking because of him. Yup, sure is. The manger was timing how long it took food to get to the tables. He was even coming around asking if we were ok. He was in the back helping. On the floor helping. So it was a no brained that the staff were all helping each other. A leader. No stress, free flowing atmosphere. Good job guys!!!!! So, about this location on 2400 San Mateo in Albuquerque NM. I went there on a date. Sat for a coffee and what did I get served. My cup in this day of Covid, was laced with lipstick from the previous user. Yes, lipstick on the cup. Begs you to wonder what else had been left behind by other diners at this location. Cleaning is obviously not a concern here in this restaurant. Again, I was appalled and very put off to even consider staying at this restaurant. We promptly left and the date itself ended quickly. Do not go to this restaurant if you value your health. Dirty dishes are just the tip of untold horrors lurking in your food there. Beware, be very aware. read more
