Great Shop for Camera Gear & Suppliers! While in Philly for the day doing the tourist thing, I opt'd to stop into Webb Cam to shop for a lens. The shop was very busy with customers so I looked around and enjoyed the variety in selection. I was soon greeted by Matt who started off a great help. He answered all of my questions and showed me a variety of products. Very knowledgeable, down to earth and happy to help. I then asked for some time to browse and think things over. A few minutes later John Webb (owner) asked if I had any questions. I didn't but once conversing a bunch arose. John shared his expertise and pointed me in the right direction. I ended up purchasing a much better quality lens than I originally anticipated but it was a very good investment that will get more than its fare share of use. I got a very good price (very competitive to what I found online) and I had the opportunity to browse lots of gear. From a 100% satisfied first time customer... We were on a 2 week trip to New England and having problems with our camera. We arrived in Philadelphia after business hours, but started calling camera shops in hope that one would be open. We called Webbcam, explained our problem to the owner John, and he said bring the camera, and he would open up for us. He took his time, and determined that our lense was bad. He explained our options of repairing the lense, and purchasing a new or used lense. He let us take our time on the multiple options he had, explaining each. We were able to leave Philadelphia, and complete taking pictures for the rest of our trip. This business walks on water. I'm a professional photographer from North Carolina. I ship my gear from Raleigh to Plymouth Meeting and everything arrives intact except a roll of seamless background paper. Damaged beyond use for a shoot the next morning. Webb Cam takes my call after hours, arranges shipment of a replacement roll via a courier through rush hour traffic. My shoot is rescued. I will always appreciate the service of Webb Cam. Webb Cam is a gem. I swung in there this afternoon with a couple of broken cameras, an older DSLR, and a Canon AE-1 Program 35mm, and received some of the best customer service I've encountered in a long time. The owner, John, took care of me and was attentive, knowledgeable, & super helpful. The shop is well stocked with both new and used equipment, and they were able to quickly diagnose and spruce up both of the cameras I brought in. A nice reminder of why local businesses are important, Amazon couldn't have gone the extra mile to wipe down my lens filter, or analyze the state of my favorite old Canon. My Canon Power Shot posted an E32 error. I found the WebbCam shop online and took my camera there to be repaired. The staff told me it would cost more to repair my Canon than to buy a new one. He looked up my camera on the Canon website & recommended I buy a refurbished Canon, which cost well below what I had originally paid 3 years ago. Since I am not a photographer but love to take great pictures, this was all extremely helpful. I dropped a Nikon lens and brought it in to Luis and John right away, worried it couldn't be fixed in time for a trip in a few weeks. They shipped it off quickly to NIkon and kept me informed. I got it back less than three weeks later, repaired and ready for my departure in a few days. Luis even called and left me a message to notify my about the UPS delivery window for delivery. I highly recommend this store. They are extremely friendly and helpful. I rented a lens through them and later when I had a problem removing a jammed lens hood, they removed it right there while I stood in the store. No charge. They explained me everything about the camera that I want to buy and they explained the differences between diverse models with a very good details and with a high accuracy.
