    wicked cheap twin lobsters

$29.95 for 2 whole lobsters and two sides (price on 10/9/25) for thursday night special. we were seated right away; our server, christine, was great; the lobster was AMAZING! i can't believe this place wasn't packed! best meal of our trip, and adding it to our *must* list for our next trip to new england.

I realized I have never written a review for this restaurant and I have been going there for over 20 years. All I can say is kudos - every meal I have had there has been excellent. I've had the fried clam lunch and dinner, grilled chicken sandwich, and the root beer float, which is amazing. My husband has had the Admiral's Platter, which is fried shrimp, scallops and clams. I haven't been here in a while, but recently had the chance to stop in and got the lobster roll. It was reasonably priced (it was off season) and I opted for the celery/mayo. Lots of lobster meat, just enough mayo and the roll was not too crisp or too soft. Absolutely perfect. I opted for a side salad and ended up bringing that home because the lobster roll was so filling. This is a definite go to if you are in the area - some of the best seafood around and alternatives for those who don't like seafood. GO!

Great food and service. Location is great, close to all major highways and historic Dover downtown. Unique decorations and friendly atmosphere.

This is the second weathervane restaurant I have been to, the other being in Maine. I love the decor here. Our waitress was awesome! She made our time very enjoyable and was very helpful with ordering. My daughter and I had the fried haddock and my parents had the haddock nuggets. The portions were really big! We asked for the fish to be cooked well, and it was perfect! The fish was flaky and not wet, and the fries were crispy and fresh. I do wish they would make their own fries rather than use frozen ones, but that is just me. If you have been to a weathervane you probably no what to expect as the food is pretty much the same as it is at the other one we went to. I reccomend this restaurant if you are in the area and want some good seafood.

Dined at the bar and Stacey took great care of me. Went with a good old Sam Adams Lager, the Half-Half combo of Sea Scallops and Whole Belly Clams along with Pa's World Famous Onion Rings (upcharge) and creamy cole slaw. Look at the pictures...if you know fried seafood you can tell this meal was perfectly cooked. The batter is light and doesn't overpower the seafood and of course clean oil is essential to presenting a delicious fried seafood platter. What's nice is you experience the same quality of food and service regardless of the Weathervane restaurant you dine in!!!

    Lobster roll and soggy fries

Lobster roll had hardly any lobster in it for $32. Would not recommend the weathervane for lobster. The fish chowder was good.

The food was good, not exceptional but it was definitely tasty. The boiled lobster I ordered was delicious. The Maple salmon was another hit. However, our server was extremely unknowledgeable and unhelpful. It was her first week, which she told us, but instead of going to ask her coworkers questions for us, she said she didn't know and made no attempt to help past that. Other than the, service we had a good experience!

This a quiet restaurant off a side of a semi busy road. Seen it a few times, thought we give it a try since they wanted fried food. The interior of the restaurant a bit dated and yea it goes with the "weather" down type theme. Waitress was nice. I order the lazy man lobster, was nothing impressive about the meal. I didn't want to de-shell my own and the price for lobster was market price. Still tasted frozen and not fresh. Came with plain baked potato and some sour creme...where the chive? I'm not a fan of the coleslaw. Bland. I honestly had better...fried platter also. My mother had an appetizer platter of some sort with buffalo wings and fried scallops. It was okay. Their onion rings were decent.

Fried seafood is mush. Soggy undercooked. Prices need to be a lot cheaper for the subpar food. Very rude service.

The tuna crudo was a standout appetizer--silky slices of fresh raw tuna with bright Asian-inspired flavors that complemented the fish beautifully. My only complaint? Four pieces for $21 disappeared way too quickly. I also tried Ethel's Creamy Lobster Roll, which came on perfectly toasted bread with the restaurant's signature thick-cut, house-made 242 fries. While the buttery roll was satisfying, I was hoping for a more generous portion of lobster. At $54, plus an upcharge for the specialty 242 in house made fries, this was definitely the meal that emptied the wallet more than it impressed my taste buds. The crispy fish tacos were my favorite of the meal. Each taco was packed with large pieces of crispy fried fish layered over a fresh slaw, and a squeeze of lime brought everything together with a bright, refreshing finish. As for the crispy fish sandwich...it was just mid. Perfectly edible, but nothing memorable compared to the rest of the menu. Overall, this is a beautiful seafood restaurant with a lively atmosphere and quality ingredients, but be prepared for upscale prices. You'll likely leave with a full stomach--but also a noticeably lighter wallet.

Thank God I opted for adding bacon to the lobster roll bc it made it seem a tiny bit bigger but for 36$ I expected double the size and a side of fries. I doubt there was a lb of lobster on it and if there was, it was weighed down by the mayo.
