When we got to the location, which is in a food court in an old mill complex, we promptly called to say "we can't find you, but we're here." We got sketchy directions from the guy on the phone, who gave up our table five minutes after the rez time, despite our calling. Really? The hostess was sweet and made good on the error. She sat us at a fine table. Another woman came and gave us menus, but we had no idea if she was our server or not. After waiting (and waiting), we saw someone going to a large table seated after us, so we asked to get our orders taken -- very politely. The hostess did so. The food came, but there was one entree missing. We dared to ask the server, who had given us the menus, if it was coming. She flew off the handle, talking about having only two hands, then threw tongs for the chicken wings on the table. The hostess returned to tell us the order was never put in, and felt badly about it. The hostess couldn't have been nicer or more apologetic for this bizarre behavior. We were fully aware of the pressure and were trying to make things easier by ordering fast and simple things, and even giving our credit card early to save time. I should add that ALL the food was great. They just didn't handle pressure, nor give respect to the customer in this case. We gave the hostess a good tip, and we hope to $%^& that she didn't have to share it with her immature, temperamental co-workers. It's too bad it turned out that way, since I have seen great reviews here. Can only convey our experience, though.

The soft perfectly chewy texture of the noodles, the flavorful sweet and salty sauce, and so many veggies and mix of grilled chicken, grilled pork, and shrimp. Will definitely get this again. Also tried the crystal shrimp dumplings, and although these are Not the best I've had, they are passable. I would order them again, but I wish the filling was more flavorful. They are just a little bland. Also tried the summer rolls again...very good, again. Sauce is delicious, and the rolls are large. I do wish they had some fresh herbs in them, but despite not having that, they are so good! The bathrooms are clean, the food comes out quick. Service is friendly. I was interested in visiting Jake's Java after learning Jake was serving in the U.S. Air Force when his aircraft crashed during a training exercise, claiming the lives of all eight crew members on board. As a combat veteran myself, I wanted to support a local business that honors service and sacrifice. This was my first visit to Jake's, and I'm so glad I stopped by. Not only was the food excellent, but it was clearly made with love. In fact, that describes the entire atmosphere. The owner, Jake's mother Kim, is a wonderful woman, and if you stop by, you won't regret taking a moment to say hello. I highly recommend coming by for a cup of coffee, a sandwich, or simply to pay your respects. Outside, you'll find eight beautifully crafted picnic tables, each dedicated to one of the fallen service members. Take a seat, enjoy the moment, and spend some time reflecting on the heroes whose legacy lives on here. Jake's Java is more than a coffee shop--it's a tribute, a gathering place, and a reminder that our fallen heroes should never be forgotten.

This is the best eggs Benedict I have had in years. The hollandaise sauce was rich and smooth and absolutely delicious. They also gave me a choice of potatoes or salad, I took the potatoes because: breakfast potatoes! They were perfectly crispy and creamy. They also delivered a little pot of their house sauce, which was made of cilantro and mint, and a bunch of other things. I tend to avoid cilantro and mint foods. In the past, I have described eating cilantro as biting down on a piece of tinfoil, a sensation that says "run for your life!" overtime my reaction to cilantro has mellowed, and I don't really understand why. But? I ate every bit of that house sauce. I'm so glad I tried it, and tried it with the eggs, Benedict, because it added a perfect level acidity to cut through that richness, and really elevated the dish. It's made with apple cider vinegar and quite nice. We also had a grilled chicken sandwich, two smash burgers, truffle fries and regular fries. Also had a kids grilled cheese because it's on sour dough. Everyone raved about how fresh and tasty everything was. When I come back to Deerfield, I will definitely make it a point to eat here.
