I would give this place 0 stars if it were an option. It was their mistake! they made them wrong! I will never step foot in that store again! Unfortunate because I prefer not to shop at the big boxes.

I want to start by saying that I have been a customer of this location, ACE Hardware, for 18 years…read moreand have had a great relationship with all the staff. However, over the past five years or so, there have been many changes, including all new employees, while the only familiar face is the one in the screws and nails section, who, like his former colleagues, genuinely helps customers. At one point, I thought the owner had sold the store, but that turned out not to be the case. With the new employees, whenever a customer walks in, they ask, "Can I help you?" but seem to hope for a "no" response. When you answer "yes," they usually don't provide helpful answers.  Today, March 19, 2025, around 10:00 a.m., I went in to buy a tube of clear silicone for a job I was finishing. After applying the silicone, I noticed it was white instead of clear. I thought it would become clear once it dried, but four hours later, it was still white. So, I decided to return to the store and exchange it. Upon entering the store's paint section, an employee asked me, "Can I help you?" I said yes and explained the issue. Unfortunately, another employee who was on the phone responded rudely, saying, "You have to wait 24 hours." I explained to the ACE employee who was "working" with me that the 24-hour period was for curing, while four hours was drying--the appropriate time to change color to clear it that is so. He then told me to speak to the manager. When I explained the situation to the manager, the rude employee intervened again, which escalated the tension. I simply wanted to exchange a $9 product for a real clear one; it should have been a straightforward request. After raising my voice out of frustration (without using any profanity), the manager told me to "take your money and get out of my store." I replied, "Thank you!! What a great favor you're doing me since I'll never step into this ACE again." In summary, I believe in supporting local businesses, but from now I will purchase ACE products through Amazon. I'll go to Home Depot or Lowe's if I need something quickly.

The displays, the soft colors and gorgeous metals were so enticing. My husband came with me to pick out a Christmas present for me and I happily obliged. He chose lovely gold earrings and a necklace with a simple gold design accented by a few little beads down one side. 100% me and I absolutely love them. One unique piece of this business is the artisans in the back, hand making the jewelry. You can watch them from afar and I was spellbound. Handmade and onsite no less?! Yes. Second thought- I can't afford this jewelry. Hmm. Third thought after looking around- oh yes I can. There's a range of prices from simple gold hoops at $25 to detailed baubles and bejeweled necklaces over $100+. I saw a knockout of a wrap bracelet with three rows of cool gemstone colors for $179. Immediately decided I would come back for it later. Hah. I challenge you to find something of this quality and craftsmanship anywhere (Etsy, Nordstrom, other boutiques etc) for anywhere near this price. I love to be able to touch and feel the weight of the jewelry so the hands on, local experience is always my favorite. I'm already making another excuse to stop by. Thanks Original Hardware for making lovely unique jewels that I know I can wear for many, many years.

I probably have walked in there 20 times over the years. I don't think anyone recognizes me (which is fine by me), but I have never encountered anyone being rude to me. I tell the salesperson I am "just browsing" and I feel quite comfortable walking around and exploring. Sometimes I chit chat with the sales person, but I have never felt ignored or judged. It is a small business, many times they're multi-tasking, but that's the way it goes. I have noticed the prices have gone up but their costs have gone up too I am sure.

I haven't felt this at-home since Thanksgiving '98 when Grandpa and I road a tandem bicycle to Olive Garden and filled our bellies to the brim with bottomless salad and breadsticks! (He's passed away now - gluten allergy) When walking into the store, you may shed a tear, because at this Ace hardware, you're family. The kind staff and I always hold hands as I browse about the store...and NO it's NOT because they're concerned for my safety!! Stop being silly, ya silly goose...Maybe a wrench, maybe some rock salt, heck maybe even just a random bottle of hot sauce...the options are endless! They have everything, at very reasonable city prices. Once I've satisfied my nearly insatiable craving for browsing the aisles of doorknobs and extension chord, I check out, exchanging a knowing smirk with the cashier...and on my way home I KNOW I'll sleep better tonight..:because "Like a good neighbor, Ace Hardware is there"!
