I recommend you don't go there. I took my lawn mower there because it wouldn't start. They fixed it for $160. I took it home. It started once, started smoking and then it died. Would not start again. I took it back. They said "You used bad gas." It's the same gas it had the first time I took it to you. Second time they charged me $15. I took it home. It worked a few times and then IT WOULDN"T START!!!!. I've had it with them. Also, the lady who answers the phone was not a nice person at all. I don't live in San Francisco. They had my Ariens mower for over 30 days for under warranty work and although they said they replaced damn near everything, including the battery, I only know that the battery isn't good. I charged it fully and didn't even get the front lawn cut before it died so while it sits in the charger once again, I'm taking some time to write here. I did contact Ariens again as well, as I need to do some investigating of my own to hopefully learn what the volts are on the charging system, and how many amps are being pulled just to start the engine via the push button. I bought this damn mower because of the push button and I haven't even used it one full season yet! I suspect I'll be calling WL&G soon, once again. Matter of fact, the first time I took it in was because it was leaking gas from the carburetor. I told them that but when the tech looked at it, he said there wasn't any gas, that's why it wouldn't start. WHAT? I HAD to empty the tank because it was leaking. Sheesh, but I got it back with more problems than when I dropped it off and even today, those problems still exist. You could say it's a piece of crap mower, or a crap mechanics. A+ service department. Saved me a lot of time, pain, and money fixing up my 2012 Dixie Chopper. Could have charged me plenty, but made a wiring harness repair instead of ordering a $345 replacement part. I took my 15 year old Zero turn because the belt that turned the blade it needed 1 part replaced it was running just couldn't cut the Owner Scraped my mower said it was to old to fix it took 6 months and a lawyer for the Owner to give me a lawnmower that he had took a deposit on from a women and would not give her deposit back because he said he could not find her tag that was on the lawnmower he gave me I called her that's how I know what happen with her, but I still have to take this lawnmower to someone for Repairs because it's not working you know Senior! Has a problem with women I don't know if it is those of Color or just me and the lady that he would not give her deposit back off this Lawnmower I have she was going to need someone else to fix it after she would have Paid $1,500.00 I'm still with a lawnmower problem 2 Summers later. read more

I needed a spindle bearing for a very common MTD riding mower. Could not wait to order online. Called on a Friday mid morning with the EXACT part number for the bearing and also the part number for the entire assembly. I was told some one would need to call me back. Never got a call back! I called again Saturday early afternoon,,,, Again with the EXACT part numbers. The older guy on the phone wanted to go back and forth that this is not an official MTD part number, rather than look up what I gave him. I hung up once I realized that someone just wanted to argue. I immediately typed the number in Amazon and as soon as I hit search I had at least 100 choices of the correct bearing to choose from and probably all were 1/3 the price of Wayne Lawn & Garden. I have zero experience in the lawn mower business and found my solution within 45 seconds when a company that has been around since 1947 was at a total loss on how to even look for the part...... Even when the part number was given to them. I know this may just be a two bad representatives for this small family business, but this was my first and last time that I would attempt to work with them. I wish for the small businesses to rise up again and put the online giants out of business. This experience is discouraging. Btw I seen your employee looking on amazon for the parts. That's how I found my parts on amazon is through the Numbers on the receipt that's how I found the parts cheaper . I took my mower in a few weeks back for an overhaul. It needed the work. I admit it, I was a bad mower owner. I turned to Yelp for the best location to take my poorly maintained mower. I brought to Wayne Lawn. The employees are very friendly, and knowledgeable. I was told it would take roughly 2 weeks to get my mower back. Nine days later, they called to tell me my mower was all set to go. My Father in Law and I went to pick it up. They charged me far less than some of the other places quoted, and got it back in less time than anticipated. After getting home with my mower, I fired it right up. I noticed a small mechanical issue that had been overlooked. I called Wayne Lawn, and they told me to bring it back to them, and they would make it right. And that is exactly what they did. I came back in a few days after they corrected my mechanical problem, walked in, told them who I was, grabbed my paperwork, grabbed my mower, and I was on my way! Once again, THIS is why i swear by local businesses. They made it right, and took care of their customer. No questions asked. It was just handled. They have my business for life. Some of the big box joints need to take a page from these local businesses that understand word of mouth keeps them competitive with them all. They can pretty much fix anything. If you're looking for a new mower, to repair your mower, or just wanna sit on a riding mower, this is the place to go! I went in to get a snow blower on Monday but all they had where bigger units than I was looking for...Im just doing my sidewalks and a little driveway. I went all over trying to find (something) but everyone had BBQ grills out already so back to Wayne lawn. I decided to pick one up even if it was bigger than i needed, which Im glad I did! This thing is a monster throws the snow 25'. Very friendly and they know the equipment they sell, they also handle the warranty repairs so no trying to find a service center when it goes down. Best part was I started looking online about the model I bought, Honda had it listed for sale on there site thru a authorized dealers for $60-$100 more (plus Shipping) than I paid for it out the door! Just wanted to say that the customer service from both Dennis' was great! They both took the time to explain the options we had and the benefits of each but never pushed or pressured to their preferences. They simply helped us make the best choice for the yard we had based on the listening to our needs! Delivery of the mower went smooth. I was told that my purchase was THE LAST ONE; No other explanations were giving EXCEPT how to start, reverse, fold & store. I just don't understand, why your encouraged to pay for a warranty, and when there's a problem there is a 2 to 6 week wait to get your machine out the shop. Crooks. Beware. Brought our Argo in for repairs in December of 2019, took over 4 months to repair. They offered to deliver it for $100, so we took them up on the offer. Upon delivery noticed that the Argo was tied down improperly and bent the front tiedown vertical instead of horizontal. Delivery person said they would make it right. A few days later they call and say they want another $50 to redeliver and basically told us that they did not cause the damage. They said both the driver and the manager did not have the argo tied down in that manner, basically saying we lied. read more

Took my riding lawn mower there for a broking tooth on the steering gear other then that it was a good mower only 5 years old but when they brought it back 2 1/2 months later the choke doesnt work on it and the mower doesnt want to go when I turn the wheel or going up little slopes in the yard which was never a problem untill i took it there and had them work on it .i will never take anything there ever again read more

I wanted to state how appreciative I am for the good service at Wayne Lawn. I took my Dixie Chopper to them for some troubleshooting and repair. I was able to talk to their Service Department personnel who were very helpful in explaining what the problem might be. Not only was the machine fixed, but it was done in a timely manner, and I received a detailed explanation of the work done. I commend Wayne Lawn for the personal service and excellent personnel. I have dealt with both owners (father & son, Dennis & Dennis) and can highly recommend them and their business. I have been doing business with them for almost 30 years, have bought numerous machines including 3 each 60" Dixie Choppers which I have used for both lawn and snow. They have been very helpful at every turn. Not only do they sell equipment, but they do a great job of servicing for years thereafter. Equipment would not be much good if you could not get it satisfactorily serviced. I will continue go here. read more

We took our lawn mower and weed whip here to get it fixed because both of them were not starting. The price was okay. It was $150 to fix both. When my husband picked it up, he asked if he can try to start it first before paying. So he started the weed whip and it started just fine. When he tried starting the lawn mower, it would not start. He pulled and pulled and it still would not start. The mechanic came up to him and said "You brought it in to get the blades fixed not to get it started" and then walked away. That was so rude! When he got to the cashier, the cashier told him to just buy a carborator spray for $4 and use that to help start the lawn mower. You would think that if they service it, they could have just added the $4 in the price and do a complete job but they didn't. I would not recommend this place at all. read more

I took my Ariens zero turn mower in for repair and never felt so ripped off. They replaced the choke in the carb and charged me almost $200. When I asked why so much I was told that there were also all kinds of electrical wiring problems too. I asked exactly what wiring was bad but was told the mechanic that worked on it wasn't there to tell me. They couldn't find the engine cover for about fifteen minutes when I picked it up. They have outdoor storage so customer's equipment sits outside in the rain or snow. As soon as I got it home it was doing the same thing it was when I took it in. I saw some wiring connectors had been removed from the safety switches that prevents the engine from starting unless the forward and reverse levers are in the neutral position. There were jumper wires attached to the connectors. I took it right back and talked to Dennis (I think he's the owner). He said that those were test wires that the mechanic had forgot to remove. Okay, no big deal. He pulled it right in to the mechanic and said this won't take long. I stayed in the service area and boy was I glad I did. I told the mechanic about the test wires still being on there. While stuttering for an excuse he said that they were not test wires but instead the switches were bad and he had bypassed them. WTF? If this was true you know they would have replaced them and charged me more money. Remember, THESE ARE SAFETY SWITCHES! (when I got home I removed the test wires and reconnected the switches and they were fine). To my surprise the mechanic pulled off a cover and adjusted the parking brake rod because it has a safety switch that prevents the mower from running unless the parking brake is applied. Again, WTF? They installed the choke and told me that was the problem, never saying anything about the parking brake safety switch adjustment. So I paid $200 for a parking brake adjustment? Then after all that Dennis tried to sell me a $5000 mower! I don't even want begin to describe how rude the parts counter woman is. Any business is only as good as their employees. I warn all my friends stay away! read more

I guess I was a little too generic in my previous review of Wayne Lawn and Garden. I had my John Deere LT 155 repaired on July 22 2014 due to the steering going out. I called Wayne Lawn and garden for repairs on the steering and a flat tire. As mentioned previously, I was charged $40 for pick-up which I didn't mind. I was quoted a week for repairs and the repair took 3 weeks. Once I had the mower returned I used it one time and the steering went out again. I called Wayne Lawn and Garden on July 30th 2014 and told a rude women it was still broken and slipping, she told me it would be another $40 to come pick it up, and assuming it was the same part they "may" replace it. I didn't want anyone to make the mistake of thinking it broke after a year of use, it broke after a single use in July 2014, I called right back within a week of the original repair. The part that needed to be replaced was $18.50, it was a bushing at the bottom of the steering gear that needed to be replaced. I let the mower sit the rest of last year and fixed it recently myself and replaced the broken bushing myself as well, which is how I know the part was $18.50, I purchased two number 7 bushings and one number 8 bushing which totaled the $18.50, I also picked up the part the same day, so the supplier excuse doesn't fly. I also told the women back in July 2014 the bushing was still broken and I could tell it had NOT been replaced, it was broken in half!!! I took pictures of the broken bushing and offered to send them to the rude women but she declined, instead of replacing what I already knew was broken, they replaced the steering shaft, which was not broken. I have the original steering shaft, it's fine. I also have the original broken bushing as well as the pictures. Sorry for the misunderstanding, glad we cleared this up. read more

I was a regular customer, and I recently went in to get a starter gear that I had bought twice before, and was charged almost triple what I had paid previously. When I asked about the difference, the lady said "that's what it costs. I have no control" So I Paid it. Went home and found my last receipt. I paid $13.00 last time, this time it was $37.00. When I took the receipt in, she said "You didn't tell me they sold you "aftermarket", this is genuine Toro. Like I care. She could have explained that when I questioned the price, but she didn't bother. I never would have paid the higher price if she had offered to order a cheaper one. Felt like she was just trying to squeeze extra money. No concern for the customer. I don't mind paying a little more for the personal service ( On Ebay, these are $9.99. ) But $37.00 is ridiculous. They said I could bring it back and get a refund. It's already installed. Just learned a $25.00 lesson. I won't be back. read more

Two days after picking up my mower, Wayne Lawn & Garden called to say that they had discussed the issue with their Briggs & Stratton rep, and were refunding the fee paid. Still, for the $4 plug and the less than 15 minutes it would have taken to replace it under warranty, they should have insulated the customer and taken it up with their rep without prodding. And their attitude toward their customers remains one of the worst I've ever encountered. Hard to imagine how they've remained in business since 1948 - but at least they followed up. read more

I had a issue with a brand new set of stihl hedge trimmers and Dennis ( the son) without any hesitation took my trimmers in the back with no questions asked he repaired my hedge trimmers that same day and sent me on my way. Now that's FIRST CLASS SERVICE!!! The front desk personnel are professional and friendly. I would recommend Wayne Lawn & Garden Center to anybody. 20 years ago I bought a Honda rider From Dennis. Told him I didn't want floor model. He didn't care, he sold it to me any way. also sold me Troy bit chipper Vac. He even put an extra quart of oil in it so when I used it for the first time it blew a quart of oil all over the machine. Machine started to blow oil so took it in to fix. Work order stated unit blowing smoke Repair as needed. They didn't do anything for engine smoke. That was the sole purpose of this repair visit. They said they replaced oil. Dennis told me it didn't have oil in it and wanted to know if it was original oil dip stick. It was. Nice to no he doesn't know enough to look up part # to see its the right one. OK I'll give you this one it did need new belts. All I told them was it had a choke problem. Needed new Cable. What a deal 400 dollars and the only two things I told them to fix and the engine was not what they fixed. Thats funny about the oil. Had oil in it when I brought in then they said they changed the oil. So how come after all this oil I don't have any in the engine. If there is no oil in engine then they forgot to put the new oil in they charged me for. Then he said it was 500 dollars to rebuild engine. Why did you fix everything except what I put it in for. 900 dollars (WTF) I could have bought new lawn mower for that much. I Most certainly don't recommend them to anyone. I'm a very honest person, to bad they are not. Dennis job up there must be to lie to the customer when they screw up. He left me on the phone telling him I'd see him in court, and boy didn't he sound cute telling me to be sure to get the Name of the company right. Isn't this the way you want to be treated when you you bring your equipment to them. I'm definitely done with them. I'm also going to write bad reviews about your company from now till the end of time. Its beginning to fill like thats the only satisfaction I'm going to get. My neighbor is a top notch mechanic on all motors, he told me 175 dollars for new rings and valves. Too bad its taken 20 years to say goodbye.
