    Cheeeesy Burger

I haven't had a beef burger in about 10yrs and I have to say these burger made me smile. Cooked well with nice flavors, I'll definitely go back whenever I'm having another beef burger moment. I got the cheeesy and added lettuce, tomato and onions.

There's so many bad reviews for this particular location, but I've never had a problem! I've been in here a few times, being as as I live around the corner and every person at the register that I've dealt with has been super friendly and gotten my order correct every time. They've even gone out of their way to grab me things (extra sauces, cups, etc.) I'd say the customer service is good, and I mean come on, it's a fast food joint full of mostly teen/underage kids who are probably working their first job, not a five star steakhouse. Realistic expectations, people! As for the food, Jake's is your typical fast food burger: I'd put it a few notches above a McDonald's or Burger King, but under a Five Guys. If you're looking for a quick, down and dirty, greasy bite, you can't go wrong with a build your own burger. Made fresh to go and full of flavor, and there are a variety of options. Their Oreo mint milkshake is banging too. *For burgers in this area I alternate between Jake's, (chain/most "fast food" ish), Midway Grill (small business/home made feel) and Happy Days (best quality of the three.)

This was our onion ring order.

So disappointing, I got my order to find soggy onion rings, half full. Plus chips half full. What a rip off!

    ""CLOSED""!

This review is not about food quality. July 6, 2022, I ordered 2 sandwiches and a strawberry shake and paid for it online to be picked up at Thorndale, PA store. I went into the restaurant and asked for my order. The assistant manager told me they didn't have any Shakes. I told her I already paid for the complete order online. She then told me that there wasn't any way to see the order, because their system was down and they could not obtain WIFI. So I asked for a refund. She told me that there was no way to give a refund back, because they couldn't see the order. I showed her the order from my phone. But she then said since their registers/system couldn't see, so NO REFUND. I asked for her to call the manager or owner. She tried calling the "so-called" manager on her cell phone but wasn't able to get anyone to answer and she said the mailbox was Full. I went home to see if I can cancel or get a refund online, but Wayback website there wasn't anyway. I tried to call another store, but the same thing happen asking me to leave a message and was told "The Mailbox is Full". July 7, 2022. So I decided to go back to Wayback in Thorndale and figured if they can't give me a refund, then give me the original order. So I parked in front of the store at 3:30 pm and found out the STORE WAS CLOSED!! I called several other Wayback restaurants and 2 out of the 3 no one was answering! I finally called the one in West Grove PA and the manager told me he was surprised that the Thorndale location was Closed. He said they where having problems with West Chester and Kennettt Sq locations. I WILL NEVER ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN, IF THERE IS AN AGAIN.

You can't miss it from the road!

It's definitely great for us in the Thorndale area, if I don't want to make the haul down trafficky 30 bypass to Exton for a Five Guys, I will no doubt hit up Jake's to satisfy the craving.

Kind of an Asian fusion menu, with curries and bowls available as vegetarian or with meats, as well as burgers and sandwiches. Fries are real, flavorful and a highlight. We made the trek up from Wilmington after seeing that the Bottle Room's tap list included a unique beer from a Knoxville brewery that we'd loved at a beer fest but had never found in our area since (Xul's PBJ Mixtape sour beer, a delicious and mind-blowing sour that somehow genuinely tastes like peanut butter, grape jelly, and white bread!). Props to Bottle Room for sourcing from both local microbreweries, but also from other delicious breweries around the country! Since our goal was beer, we hadn't put much thought into the food, so we were very nicely surprised that every bite was delicious, and we're already scheming which of our PA friends might want to meet us there in the future. We started with their tuna tostada special --- won ton chips with tuna poke, edamame, avocado, and some sort of wasabi dressing. This was challenging to eat, but absolutely worth the mess. Husband ordered their smash burger with truffle fries, which was a very solid and flavorful burger, and the truffle fries had excellent texture and flavor. I opted for their Ratatouille special, which offered the usual vegetable medley served over zucchini bread (a unique touch!) with burrata. The zucchini bread was a little bit sweet and a little soft, but the overall flavors came together nicely. We were happy to learn they offer crowlers as well, so you can take your favorite beers to go!

Ambiance was nice enough and the music playing was a fantastic mix of classic rock. We both started with soup. My husband with the gumbo with cornbread and me with a daily special mushroom and brisket soup. Both were wonderful. The cornbread is off the hook and the gumbo was so flavorful with a really nice kick. Entrees were the pistachio crusted chicken for my husband. Crispy on the outside, juicy inside with crabmeat on top, served with garlicky mashed potatoes and some veggies. I had the shrimp and grits which is a go to item for me and they out did themselves. Shrimp was perfectly cooked and the grits were delicious with Tasso ham; just the right bite with some spice. Service was pleasant if a little slow but the food and music more than made up for it. Overall a great experience. We will definitely be back!!

The hostess was kind and she took the order, read it back and said it would be ready in 15 minutes. My husband ran to grab it, said it was quite still but the food was ready when he got there, that's where the good of the experience ends. My husband ordered a burger and fries, but the burger only had the bottom half of the bun. I ordered the south by south west chicken on a salad. The chicken was pure rubber and he single worst textured chicken I had ever had. I've had this dish here before and it has been excellent so this was a real letdown. They also didn't include the toppings for the south by south west is it was just a chicken breast on a salad. We also ordered a side of fries for our kids which we just absent from the order. Checking the receipt all the ordered items were detailed correctly so it seems the kitchen has lost some of its attention to detail. It's very unlikely we will visit this establishment again unfortunately.
