Cuban burger with impossible party and fries
Leslie M.

We came to Wayback burgers because they had vegetarian options. We opted for a Cuban burger with an impossible patty. One thing that they could improve is offering vegan cheese. The chicken tenders and fries were good for my kids. The bathroom was clean. One of our orders was not made the way that we asked. They were quick to replace with a new order. Customer service is great and we really enjoyed our food. Five Stars!!!

Pretty good burger. Sauces were tasty and a kids shake size is perfect! Service very nice

Wayback makes a higher quality burger than the average place. And they sell tater tots! It doesn't get much better than that, as far as I'm concerned. This is a fast casual joint-you order at the counter, take a number and they bring your food out to the table. It's a little bit of a wait, since they make your food fresh, but it's worth it. Service is terrific-friendly and welcoming. I made a request to customize my burger and it was done happily, no problem at all. The dining area is a little small, but it just makes the vibe more fun when it's filled with people. I'll be back...wayback!

Bourbon Bacon burger with tots.
Dan S.

Nice new burger place. The burgers are juicy and cooked well. They taste great and are pretty big. I tried the Bourbon Bacon and it was solid, but my favorite was just the standard burger with the works. The fries and tater tots are good, and even better with fry sauce. The workers were very nice and served us well. It's definitely worth a visit.

Counter takeout quick at a little before noon. Service congenial. Employee greeted and smiled. Food was a bit expensive for a single patty cheeseburger, side of onion rings and a chocolate shake ($17+). All to go. Burger had good flavor, cheese was not melted (a minus), plain bun toasted. Good coating to onion rings, crisp and near perfect, not sure worth $6.39. Chocolate shake should have had a larger mouthed straw to accommodate thickness. Seems larger straws reserved for beverages that don't cost nearly as much (negative) I have bubble tea straws at home. Facility clean and seating arranged nicely. Single counter is convenient. Consider senior meal or discount. Kids meal. Not a frequent visitor to fast food establishments. Price is in line with one another, just not in line with guests' purses. Location is good given traffic of surroundings stores and activities. Worth a visit before discounting it.

We have friends who have been trying to get us to come here for years. We finally made it tonight…read moreand we instantly regretted not making it sooner. First of all we had our two kids with us and they immediately brought out a plate of apples for them to start snacking on. Very thoughtful and helpful. It kept them busy until we ordered and appetizers were brought out. I ordered the biscuits, the brussels sprouts, and the chicken confit. I couldn't eat the biscuits but my husband and kids devoured them. They looked incredible. I will be dreaming about the brussels sprouts until I return. My husband and I both agreed they were the best we've ever had. The chicken was great too- would have preferred white meat and additional sauce but still good. We loved our meal and look forward to making this place a regular when in town!

I had the beet salad with poached pear. It was really delicious and was a great combination on the taste buds. Then I had the confit chicken (boned in). It had great flavor and was cooked perfectly. The slaw was also good. If you go to WAR, you must get the biscuits. They will complement almost any meal. Also, my drink was the WAR Tan. I've had it before and it was delicious again!

There are places you go... and then there are places that feel like you've finally come home…read more The Painted Pony is the latter. We adore slipping away for lunch and settling onto the patio, where the world softens--shade drapes gently overhead, birds sing as if they've been hired just for the occasion, and time... well, time slows down enough to breathe. The service is nothing short of immaculate--attentive in that quiet, effortless way that makes you feel seen without ever being interrupted. And the food... oh, the food. The bacon-wrapped dates must have been crafted in heaven... or perhaps meant for the gods and somehow gifted to us. The tuna melt was so transcendent I found myself wondering if I had ever truly tasted tuna before... or if I had just been living a lesser version of the experience all along. And the beef bourguignon... my heavens. It was as if your grandmother--if she were also a five-star chef--had been waiting for you, simmering something rich and soulful to welcome you back after a long journey. Even the tea felt royal... and the mocktails were so delightful, so thoughtfully made, that not once did we miss the alcohol. The Painted Pony isn't just a meal... it's a return.

Tucked into the Tower Building, this New American restaurant nails the Southwestern-meets-fine-dining vibe: intimate indoor seating with contemporary regional art, fresh flowers, and soft lighting, plus a charming patio for when the weather cooperates. It feels romantic and relaxed without being stuffy--perfect for date night or a special occasion while visiting southern Utah.c91b9be2267e Service was attentive and friendly without hovering. Our server knew the menu well and made solid wine recommendations (they've got a nice list, and no-corkage Mondays are a nice touch if you BYO from a Utah store). Portions are generous for the price point--definitely not the tiny-plate nonsense you sometimes get at fine-dining spots. We started with the carrot jalapeño soup (bright, flavorful, and a nice kick) and the baked brie, which was rich and perfectly paired with the seasonal chutney and crostini. For mains, the bone-in pork chop and the hanger steak were highlights--well-cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor from the fresh ingredients and thoughtful sauces. The sides (mac & cheese and haricot verts) were solid too. We finished with the key lime pie, which was a bright, creamy winner. One note, though: pass on the crab cakes. They're a menu staple (around $16, served with something like pomegranate salsa or poblano aioli depending on the season), but ours were mostly filler with a noticeably fishy taste. Not worth the spot on the table when there are so many stronger starters and entrées.781e4d Overall, we'd happily return to The Painted Pony. It's one of the better fine-dining options in St. George--great atmosphere, strong service, and mostly excellent food at reasonable prices for what you get. Just skip the crab cakes and you'll have a winner of a meal. 4/5 stars. Recommended for visitors and locals alike. Reservations advised, especially on weekends.

Our only complaint, and the reason I didn't give 5 stars was the service was SO SLOW. We waited about 20 minutes to get seated, totally understandable, but once we were seated it was about 15 minutes before we saw our waitress, then another 20 minutes before they brought our drinks(we ordered food the same time we ordered drinks). Once food came we saw her one time in the middle and then didn't see her again for another 30 minutes. We ordered desserts, waited about 15 minutes for those and didn't get one of our desserts delivered. So it was a rough service experience. The food was really good and the outside patio was great seating! We will come back but hopefully have better service!

My husband thinks the steak (locally raised) is one of the best steaks he's ever had. He also enjoyed their burgers. The tamarind glazed salmon and risotto dish, salads and mashed potatoes were my favorite, but truly, everything brought to the table was high-quality and delicious. Including the dessert (key lime pie and crème brûlée). Our server, Whitney, was wonderful. She is friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the menu and potential adjustments (made recommendations that accommodated my gluten-free diet). She was a real joy and made the dining experience all the more special. We will definitely be back!

The Power Wrap was served perfectly warm and the mushrooms were so flavorful, the chocolate chip pancakes (with that warm maple syrup ) were such a treat, and the farmhouse hash was hearty and comforting. The ambience made it even better;bright, clean, and peaceful with such a happy, relaxed energy. But truly, the best part of our visit was our server, Michael. He was an absolute angel. So kind, so genuine, and just full of light. He made us feel so special and taken care of, and his smile honestly made our whole morning.
