I really thought that all of these broken off, ingrown hairs were because I wasn't exfoliating enough. I'm a licensed esthetician as well, albeit I don't practice anymore. I truly thought it was ME, but upon paying closer attention, I noticed that she pays little to NO attention to the growth pattern. Two big wax strips and then cleaning up everything that you missed with sugar isn't going to cut it. I really wanted to support this business, as I love seeing young women of color prosper, but you cannot NOT know how to properly wax ALL variety of women and their parts, be a jerk and a their to your employees, and dip the hand you used to wipe someone down directly into the sugar pot! To give you perspective I haven't been waxed since early Nov 2018. My place closed for remodel and I was trying to tough it out. But I cant any longer spring is coming and I need to get this baby girl together. I decided it was time to try my first sugar wax. Beatrice didnt even flinch when I unveiled my bush. She got right to work. She did caution me that it could be painful due to the time between my last wax and the length of my hair. It took about 20 mins, considering what she had to clear she was doing well. It was about the same pain level as a hard wax to me. Bright smile, positive upbeat persona, clear explanation, no high pressure selling of products and extremely skilled. Have never had a Brazilian before. Never had a bikini wax. Certainly never had a sugar Brazilian. Had that tonight. Sure there was discomfort but Veronica was swift in her touch and personable enough to distract me in conversation. I have had two excellent experiences here thus far. I have always waxed in the past, but never tried hard wax before. I heard that hard wax is far less painful than regular wax with the strips, so i finally had the courage to get a Brazilian done. If you ask me, the idea of getting a Brazilian is both terrifying and embarrassing, but the ladies here are so personable that they made the experience very comfortable for me. Both Veronica and Shayla are great! Their workplace is very clean, and they both took the time to explain to me the best ways to exfoliate my skin and prep for waxes in between appointments. Had my first Brazilian done with Veronica and she was fabulous! Not only was it FAR less painless than I expected, she made the experience as comfortable as possible. She explains everything, is not only exceptionally professional, but courteous and friendly too. She was very detailed when shaping up my brows and uses the highest quality wax, she also penciled in and made my brows on point. Booking my appointment with mind body made it super easy and she was very responsive in confirming my appointment. The consent forms were easy to fill out and the salon was beautiful and clean, not to mention the location is very convenient and right across the street from Twinbrook metro, with free 2 hour parking. Sugaring def lives up to the hype. Very little pain and the entire process is very clean. No leftover stickiness or even any discomfort. Veronica is very knowledgeable in all things hair removal; whether it be waxing or sugaring and for whatever body part you wish to be hairless.
