Well, well, well because we got in so late, there was nothing open in Ocala except this place. I have stopped here before for gas when visiting but never food. I ordered a chicken sandwich and hubby ordered the pulled pork. I can honestly say this place isn't for me. I am not sure what I took a bite of but not sure it was chicken. I quickly tossed the remainder of the sandwich. It was not good... My hubby's sandwich was much better so glad one of us was able to eat. Good service though even after midnight so grateful for that. This is a by far better than the average convenience store establishment. FYI: they just started a six state expansion program starting with Pennsylvania. For my Indy friends, they are coming to Indiana but not until 2025. If you've ever been to QuikTrip, Wawa reminds me of them but I think Wawa's in-store kitchen is better. I like how they announce your order is ready while you continue to pickup your pit stop needs. Their restrooms are clean and well stocked. I'm looking forward to the day they move into Indiana. Wawa has grown considerably in the last few years throughout the state of Florida and this is good news for residents and the Sunshine State, especially for those like myself who have come from the Northeast and have truly been missing Wawa since relocating to Florida. So if you are unfamiliar with Wawa, think of a gas station on steroids. Not only do they have competitively priced gas, but they also have a great convenience store inside and they are also known for their subs. Bear subs, or hoagies as they are known in Wawa, freshly made 24/7 snd are a step above what you would expect to find in a gas station. At least once a year they also have what they call Hoagiefest were they offer all of their subs at a discounted price. Something that my daughter likes is there a pretzel, which are located at the front counter. Oh, do not forget that they also carry bagels and other great items for breakfast. On top of all of this, Wawa also offers free air for your tires. So, where other gas stations charge, Wawa does it for free. This particular Wawa location is located about a half-mile off of Interstate 75. I passed a few gas stations on the way she specifically come do this Wawa and it is definitely worth going a little out of your way for this brand. I would definitely recommend Wawa and I give it five stars. If you find yourself eating either gas or a little snack, stop on by this particular location. Here are the best things about Wawa: -large quantity of efficient gas pumps -inexpensive and unpretentious, yet totally clean and effortless experience -amazing "gas station food" I love the quesadillas, the sandwiches and the baked goods. They've totally nailed adding edible, fresh, fast food to a gas station concept -clean bathroom -efficient food order kiosks (or speak to someone in person if that's your preference) -large variety of snacks and drinks; everything you'd expect to find at a gas station and more -amazing milk shakes; which I try not to order but occasionally indulge in -good selection of beer and other malt beverages -friendly service If you're debating between a few gas stations, I vote Wawa! I went here because several people in Atlanta were hyping this place up. I wanted to eat some great mac and cheese because my coworker told me how good their mac and cheese was. My sister said it's the QT of Florida, but my co worker said its inexcusable if I go to Florida and I dont visit and eat there... I went in and I looked at the options they had and ordered a mac n cheese. They had a numbering system and I noticed because of the numbers skipped 50 numbers some people thought that it would take forever and left. I.e. I had the ticket 750 and the person before me had 735.. there weren't 15 people ahead of me. Anyways, I digress, but the service seemed to be long. My sister and mom had filled up the gas tank, checked out and used the restroom and I was still waiting. 10 minutes go by and I'm still waiting for a side of mac and cheese. I ask them how long it would take and they said not long. I got the order 10 minutes later. I was traveling back home. I love mac n' cheese, but this mac n' cheese was just okay. I ate it with the thoughts of my co workers high praise of their mac n' cheese was. Maybe it was a little hyped up in my head, but I walked away a little disappointed thinking this mac n'cheese would blow me away. I will say that brought back to normal standard, not many gas stations carry mac n' cheese and at least they had the option. I'd come here and try something else if and when I come back to Florida. I have been meaning to write this review forever! Because of my lengthy commute, I fill up my take every week at minimum. I always plan it so I can get a curbside order for lunch because their $5 soup & sandwich combo rules. Every time I've gotten my food, the people delivering it are SO ridiculously kind, prompt, and sweet! They always go the extra step to engage me in a bit of convo & the personal touch is so appreciated. The employees at this location are all absolutely stellar. I'm also sending this info to corporate because I truly believe that whatever this location is doing to keep their employees so happy needs to be recognized. I'm new to Florida and I'd say Wawas are pretty cool, but not this location. The employees were not pleasant during my visit. The register line moved fast, but the cashier was very short with me. Being new I wasn't sure how to do something and she was not helpful at all. Kind of embarrassed me in line even. Also, when I went to pick up a to go order, I could see my order bagged up with my name on it. I could've easily grabbed it myself but I didn't want to cross the glass barrier in place due to COVID. So after a few men walked passed and made eye contact with me but didn't ask how they could help, I hesitated but asked one of them politely (I didn't want to interrupt but my bag was right there) and I asked if I could take it. He verified that it was mine, and then told me to wait for another few minutes. Not only were the employees unpleasant, but even the customers had bad attitudes here.
