First off, the bacon was a letdown. I didn't even get four slices--at best, it looked like two slices broken in half. The vegetable mix I paid extra for was barely there--just a speck. On top of that, the sandwich was made with an end piece of bread that didn't even match the other slices, making it awkward and uneven. To add to the frustration, the sandwich was only half-cut. I called the store and asked to speak with the manager. She apologized but told me to write a review, so here I am. For over $9, I expected something much better. This experience was disappointing and left a bad taste--literally and figuratively.

What is also interesting is that I had gone to that one thinking I could get gas, but was disappointed. I got gas elsewhere and when I did come upon this one I did stop in to get a refreshment. The lot is a tight squeeze when it is busy. I was able to find parking and make my way inside. I was really craving an iced tea and headed over to that counter to procure said iced tea. Why are things so difficult in the state of Delaware? Or is this a Wawa thing? Why am I forced to purchase my drink before having it in hand? What in the world happened for them to put this into place? Which one of y'all decided to run out of the store with a drink and not pay for it? I had to of looked like a tourist standing there with a puzzled look on my face. Not understanding why there were no cups anywhere in sight. Then to have to go to the counter to purchase this, I must of hit the lottery that day, because I had the most sullen looking woman wait on me. First, the food-at-a-gas-station thing is not so crazy to us, after eating at Three Crazy Ladies, who run a lunch counter out of the Sunoco in Malvern. The article talked about this place that sells gas and fried chicken. Maybe not crazy, but still weird. We looked up more local news, and reviews said the chicken was actually pretty good. This is a MD-based chain. MD is below the Mason Dixon line, so they probably do a better fried chicken than we do, right? We tried them waaaaay late night over the weekend. 2:30am and they were hoppin'. Cars coming from all directions. The chicken was greasy, but tasted pretty good. There are no trans-fats in their chicken. We don't expect much with fried chicken, so this was a nice surprise. I can't compare to KFC because it has been at least 15 years since I had anything there, but it was definitely a nice crunchy coating on it, that tasted addictive. They offer 8 pieces of dark meat for $7, or 2-2-2 dark/white for $14. We took the cheaper deal. It was tender, fully cooked, surprisingly fresh (especially for 2:30am), and definitely a good value. We got gas too, to complete the experience. The facility is all new construction, which always makes it a nicer encounter, especially when it's a gas station. According to the articles we read, this is their first site in the area, but they plan to open other locations in Ridley Park, and Concord Twp, in the future. Watch out, Wawa! ...and KFC!
