I ordered a chicken platter. Chicken was good despite being cold and obviously old. Slow service and undermanned.

Would give 0 stars if could. Absolutely disgusting chicken sandwich and only took one bite. Burnt, overcooked and oily.

The chicken is either greasy as ever or is burnt to a crisp, and it's not necessarily the best bargain in town.

What a great little gem I found outside of Marcus Hook in Boothwyn Pennsylvania near Chester. Super…read moreeasy to order online the staff inside couldn't be nicer very clean and the hoagie was outstanding and fresh. It's a small Italian deli with other specialty Italian foods inside if you're in the area it's a must try and reasonably priced.

I just found this place recently and I've only been here 3 times. This place has been busy all…read morethree times and I went at differents time of the day. My first two were excellent, the third not so much. I've had an old world Italian hoagie and a roast beef hoagie, had the mini size and both were jam packed with delicious ingredients. There was a time I could have eaten the largest size, which is 3 times the size of the mini, but as an old man the mini was perfect. My most recent visit I ordered a regular size kielbasa with sauerkraut, which for most of the sandwiches would be like the medium size, for the kielbasa is was the smallest they offered. Well, I should have asked for the kraut on the side because when I got home the nice Aversa's roll was soggy, my fault there. On the other hand the kielbasa tased like Hillshire Farm mass produced crap. When the guy got it from the refrigerated cooler where they keep the deli meats he carried it with both hands in a manner as to hide the package it was in, I thought it was odd at the time but didn't think any more about it, until I got home and realized why. While waiting for my sandwich, I saw what looked like 'real' kielbasa in with the deli meats so I was very disappointed when I went to enjoy the sandwich only to have the taste and texture to like be a glorified hot dog. Overall I like the place, the prices and hoagies are great. But, I now know not to order anything but the hoagies here.

It's been a few years since we've been to The Reef...had a friend who had an event there in…read moreJanuary, so we popped in...same place, some ripped benches in the bar seating area, but seems like the food has improved....except the fries...they use the new "seasoned fries"...which means dredged in flour (lightly)...and then dropped in the fryer...most diners are moving to these, so they may be frozen. Who puts starch on a starch? Anyway, the crab quesadilla is amazing. The chicken cheesesteak will rival the best in the area (Mazzella's is the best, and they don't starch their frozen fries)...the boneless wings aren't as good as The Hideaway, but they're damn good. They could step up their game by upping their Blue Cheese (Two Stones Pub is hands down the best)...and Happy Hour beers remind me of the 80's with their prices. So my official rating after 4 visits in the last 2 months is a VERY Good. To add, their entertainment is a good selection of various styles. I'd like to see a Tues or Weds acoustic Happy Hour.

My experience with the food and service was always good from the very first dinner. Their steamed clams and Prime rib were excellent and the service from my waitress "Suzzie" was perfect. Entertaining at the REEF is not limited to one genre..the place covers many types of music from Rock to Soul. Totally entertaining. If you want a good meal and a fun time with by the way no cover charge "The Reef" is the place to be seen at Carpenter Station in Wilmington.
