What's interesting about this location is that up the road there is another Wawa that does not offer gas. What is also interesting is that I had gone to that one thinking I could get gas, but was disappointed. I got gas elsewhere and when I did come upon this one I did stop in to get a refreshment. The lot is a tight squeeze when it is busy. I was able to find parking and make my way inside. I was really craving an iced tea and headed over to that counter to procure said iced tea. Why are things so difficult in the state of Delaware? Or is this a Wawa thing? Why am I forced to purchase my drink before having it in hand? What in the world happened for them to put this into place? Which one of y'all decided to run out of the store with a drink and not pay for it? The idea of a cheesesteak adventure was conceived while drinking Fireball and Diet Coke out of a Wawa cup in my childhood favorite cheesesteak shop. I feel fairly familiar with this wawa now that I sat in the parking lot for 4 hours waiting for a tow truck to drive me the 130 miles home. I think I went inside once to go to the bathroom, once to get food, and then two more times to go to the bathroom. I drank a lot of iced tea ok By the way, this parking lot has a LOT of parking in the back. I don't know how this is helpful unless you are like me your tow truck will have plenty of room to pick you up. Other observations: why doesn't this wawa have alcohol? I could have drank like......at least a bottle and a half (which means two) bottles of wine waiting for the tow truck for 4 hours after my car decided to break down on 95. Listen, I don't live too far from this wawa and I go here very often and usually if they mess something up, I'm very lenient with them! However, Tonight was a whole different ball game!! I ordered my 2 YEAR OLD chicken tenders and mashed potatoes and asked for salt and pepper for the mashed because my baby won't eat it if it isn't seasoned! When I opened the food, I noticed right away that it was too much pepper on the tenders and went to take them away, but my daughter was hungry and wanted her tenders, so I let her eat. She ate for about 2-3 minutes, before she started screaming crying!!! This pissed me off because I already knew the reason! Man, I love the Wawa concept and how well it is executed. When there are so many convenience stores and gas stations out there that are a little sketchy, Wawa is clean, bright and well stocked with lots of choices. The pump area was nice and wide and while my receipt printer didn't work (grrrr!), there was no wait at the cashier and she was pleasant and quick. While here, I made a brief stop in the men's room which was surprisingly clean (maybe it shouldn't be a surprise - after all, this is Wawa). Lots of snack options and the prices were decent! This review is mostly for the gas station. Usually very slightly more expensive by others like maybe a couple cents but it is the only gas station I go to - basically refuse to get gas other places. Love this wawa! I come here frequently to get air for my tires or gas. The only downside is when some people come up to you and ask for cash because "their car just broke down and need a few bills for the bus". I believe my sister said it best when I sent her a picture of my sandwich "they don't put the same heart in their sandwiches now". This statement perfectly sums up my thoughts on my hoagie. The kiosks were easy to use and the staff was helpful. My mac n cheese appetizer was hot and delicious. Back to the hoagie, the turkey and vegetables were fresh but the construction of the sandwich is what was lacking. I have attached a photo to try to visually get my point across. I buy all my gas here because the Naamans Road pumps are ridiculous to get to. They consistently run out of stock on my cigarettes and are not helpful. I feel terrible saying this, but what is happening to you, WAWA of Delaware? My visit to this location today was an example of how things have slipped a little over the last year at Delaware WAWA's . Today there was no ice at the (now always) dirty fountain soda station. I purchased something else and it was the manager who rung up my purchase. I shared with him that the they were out of ice. He replied to me that the ice machine was broken. Why wasn't there a sign? That would've been the minimum, I would think. Even better would've been to use bagged ice in the meantime, although it would've cost a couple bucks.
