Couldn't get a stable internet connection via CenturyLink, even after 4 different techs came to our North Beacon Hill house to troubleshoot the problem. Gave Wave a try, but was reluctant given all the negative reviews. So far its been great. Stable, fast connection. I'm also going to give a shout out to our installer Chris Berry, who ran a new wire from the street to the house, and had the house wired up and the internet up and running in a couple hours...all with a great, helpful attitude and on-point customer service. I'm not really sure why there's so many negative reviews for Wave. Our experience has been just the opposite. Fast hookup, fast internet that just works. Since the change to Wave our internet drops constantly and is often out for hours. When calling to complain I'm spoken to in a condescending manner and frequently lied to. Last week I was told that they were doing system checks and that was the reason for the outage yet another rep insisted it wasn't them, it must be a router problem. Yesterday our internet went out again and I was told there was no outage it must be a problem with our router or modem (again) - rep said a tech would be out by 6 or 7. No one showed up. I called and was told that rep made a mistake, no one would be coming out until Monday- this after waiting for several hours. Then about 9 pm a tech in the area called and it turned out that yes, there was an outage again, nothing to do with our router or modem. This morning I received a call confirming my appointment for Monday. I emailed the company to document everything with the whole story including billing problems I've also had, and received a call from a supervisor while I was out for a few minutes. Called back and could not get through to her so I talked to a rep who basically said he didn't see what the problem was. Really?! read more

"Meh. I've experienced better." is pretty much perfect for Wave. I live in Port Townsend and we have experienced outage after outage after outage. Usually they last 15 mins to an hour. Currently, my internet has been at a crawl for 5 days now (since the last outage), so I'm finally calling. I've been on hold for 25 mins and counting. There are some upsides, when you call to report an outage they ask for your zip. an automated message comes on and say's "we are experiencing an outage in your area at this time" . With some other companies, I have had to wait on hold for 20-30 mins for an operator to give me the same info. Also, the techs (I have the same guy come to my house three times) were great. He was super friendly and gave me some info on what the problem was in the area.... Hopefully someone at the company with the power to do something will read this! read more

I have posted several times about my frustration. Have even been in contact with Gabrielle via my Yelp posts. The situation changed but the frustration continues....no one answers the phone at WAVE. Sent this letter to them today: CURRENT SITUATION: It appears that my television reception may have been finally corrected in the last several days....after I spoke to DAN FORD at 415-349-8395. It took dozens of dead end conversations and technician visits to my home before the problem was addressed. During one of my conversations with DAN FORD, he stated that he had a theory about my signal reception problem. Several days later the problem stopped. Then, I tried to report the change to Mr. Ford (1) I wanted to ask Ford what the problem was, so that if it happens again I won't have to go through a months-long series of deadend calls to resolve it, and (2) I wanted a further discount on my bill to reimburse me for the additional outages for which I'd not already been compensated. Mr. Ford never returned my calls. SO -- I am asking you for answers to my questions AND I would like CREDITS on my bill for the following additional outages 10/1 4 hours 10/3 8 hours 10/6 24 hours 10/7 3 hours 10/9 4 hours 1010 3 hours 10/11 5 hours This whole experience with WAVE has been so disappointing and upsetting. I'm not stupid, as several WAVE employee have treated me. The service has been so different from the service I received for over a decade with this company (and all of its iterations since RCN) that it's caused terrible stress. I've told WAVE contacts about this and have posted my frustration on Yelp. I've also picked up an official complaint form from my U.S. Congressional representative. Wave is the most incompetent company I have ever seen. I have been paying for 100 mb service internet and have 6 up and down load. I have been on the phone with them for HOURS trying to "trouble shoot" the problem. They told me it was my wireless router so I got a new one... STILL NOT WORKING! Now they want me to call them and trouble shoot with my new router! On numerous occasions they were RUDE on the phone and still have not done anything to fix my service. The only person in that entire company that has any worth is Gary H. He was so polite and courteous and was the only one to show real concern. Have been with Wave Broadband for 2 years and have never reached the speeds we signed up for.......isnt there legal recoarse for billing you for a service level that you never recieve? We have had service techs out on multiple calls with each one giving us a different excuse and no improvement to data download level. I live on the Oregon coast and have Wave. It's been pretty good so far except when I go to my pay-per-view movies there are 22 of them. 20 in Spanish. and only 2 in English. when complaining about it I was told I was 'mistaken'. after more complaints they sent a tech out who immediately said 'you're right - 20 in Spanish and 2 in English'. After more complaining and speaking with 6 or 7 customer service people I was told that's what's available at this time. This is not acceptable. read more

Updating my review because my installation experience was great. Jonathan came to my house right in the middle of the arrival window and spent 60 minutes trying to troubleshoot the complexity of the wiring. He was thoughtful about my home and my family while he was in the house and took the time to explain some of the technology to me. I'm kind of surprised by the reviews here! Like for many others, Wave was the contracted internet service provider for my apartment in downtown seattle. At first I was somewhat hesitant to get internet from them because of everything I had heard but I did not want to go to Comcast so I called Wave. Surprise surprise, I was able to get in touch with a human in less than a minute (unlike Comcast which always puts me in an automation loop) and schedule a time for the install guy to come to my place - he was courteous, quick and very professional. The internet worked as expected and after about 6 months, they changed some things on their end (I think they were able to get high speed internet to my place) so that I was getting 100 Mbps for $53! Anytime, I've had any issue, customer service has always been quick and very much willing to work through the issue. I've also never had billing or payment issues. read more

Their new payment and customer service system has tanked their brand, their reputation, their ability to conduct business, and their ability to keep my business. For one, when the new system took over, all logins and passwords were reset which meant you had to call their customer service lines to obtain new login details. The new systems and call centers are completely incompetent. The first few weeks wouldn't even give you an approximate wait time. Now it just says at LEAST 20 minutes. Their phones are blowing up because all scheduling, tech support, plan changes, and cancelations/moves HAVE to run through them. Especially when nobody can log in anymore. I waited 2 hours the first call and gave up. Calls 4-5 dropped. A call to my apartment's agent resulted in a different customer service number but this lady told me I would be put on hold before the call dropped again. I think all call centers are in a different country which isn't usually a problem but it seams they receive NONE of the benefits of this. The call centers are understaffed, receive unreliable connections and don't seem to know what they are doing yet. When I finally made it through to make an appointment to set up my internet the call center agent wrote down the wrong address and wrote down my current address rather than the address I'm moving to like I gave them. The day of the appointment I got a call that said they were unable to work at the right address because the new system was too restrictive. The electrician said they've been receiving scathing reviews and complaints and the system has been causing serious problems. None of the workers like it. Most of the appointments are having to be canceled. The worst thing is we can't cancel the appointments because that runs through the call centers and we would have to wait another hour. So most of the appointment slots stay booked but unused. I had Wave before when it was good but it seams the business is too underwater right now to receive good service. The internet does have downtime but I don't know how to compare that to xfinity or century link. TLDR: save your time and energy and get set up through a different company read more

I cancelled my service for the end of my current billing cycle so that I won't be billed another month. I have chat records of when I said I wanted to cancel and the agent even repeated it back to me. However they whiffed the date completely and charged me another month. The worst! I thought Comcast was bad but Wave takes it to another level. We just came out of a 3.5 day outage. No tv, internet and were told it would be up and running in 4 hours on day 1.... then 4 more hours, then by 4 PM the next day, then back to 4 hours, then by 8 AM on day 3, then 10:00 AM, then they said it was the power company who was at fault, and on and on. Nick and Gary from Wave stopped by to install a new modem. They quickly realized that I already had the modem I needed but instead of taking off, they tested it to see if it was receiving a signal properly. They checked it out and verified that thing were top notch and working at a very high speed. Additionally, they showed me a cool website where I could go in and check my own signal speed. In my experience, the service people at Wave are WONDERFUL! Give them a raise! Thanks Nick and Gary, I really appreciate your service. I need to also mention Adrian at the call center. LaConner, WA Asking me to pay for something they cannot provide. Charge for 100 mps service and at best can only get 45 mps, and frequently less than 15 mbs! This should be against the law. Compound that with rude customer service. Was told by the operator that he was the professional and I wasn't going to tell him to put me through to a supervisor. Put in service request ONE YEAR ago because the broadband was shared by too many households and could not stream in the evenings. Told they would return to fix and they lied. At this point can get faster service on Verizon and use a mobile hotspot. Best to avoid these crooks. Hopefully someone will file a class action lawsuit sometime. I have recently upgraded to a faster internet package that came with a promotion with cheaper rates. The agent told me to wait for a few billing periods for the amounts billed to adjust. In addition to the increases in charges now I have several late charges. With the promotion and extra fees and late charges I am now paying morn than i was! Be carful when these guys try to sell you something. Oh and by the way their service has blackouts and no service all the time! Several times a week. There is no other provider in my neighborhood and my kids need the service "when it's working" for school. read more

There is a very loud high pitch ringing sound coming out of there new wifi wireless intrenet modem, they said it's working fine, technician came out. Would like old wired unit back. Baby does not stop crying when unit is plugged in, dog starts barking and the A.M radio becomes very static. I started with Wave in 2015. I had an initial issue getting my services all working; second installer very critical of the first one, for rather good reason. Thereafter, I opted to use my own modem/router. It took three calls to Tech Support to get current router models that were compatible with Wave equipment. After my second call, I went to order what was suggested and those models were so old, they were no longer available. Finally got someone competent on my third call and was able to order and install the equipment needed myself. In late 2018, my cost for the same services suddenly went from $155. to $168. a month and then $170. a month around October. The January 2019 bill for the same services was $239. I thought I had read it wrong. A 54% increase in three months w/o buying any movies, or ordering any new services.... and internet that periodically conked out. I called Wave and after multiple periods of lengthy holds, was told that they could reduce it to $173. - still a 12% increase in three months. It's not so much the amount as it is the feeling that I am being ripped off and the sudden price increases that angers me. Update: On the plus side, thrilled with my new satellite t.v. provider. - more features for a reasonable cost that is good for two years. read more

Do you like high speed internet? Do you like super shitty customer service? Then, Wave is for you! I've had to call them on 2 separate occasions for assistance. It takes multiple phone calls and hours (not exaggerating) of being on hold. The "unusually high call volume" is bs. It is ALWAYS that much of a wait time. Oddly, while I was on hold on day 2 of trying to talk to a human, I called from my other phone and pressed buttons to say that I was a new customer and wanted service. Please trust and listen to these reviews as you will not be satisfied at all with the customer service from this company. After trying and trying to get ANYONE from Wave to address my issue of getting service to my address, I have completely given up on them. Brent loves to reply to the reviews and give the impression that he may actually try and help you, but the reality is that he will do nothing. Been paying for 1Gb/1Gb for years in my apartment in Bellevue. Recent months has been showing major slow downs. I only get around 200Mb to 400Mb down now. I called for tech support two days ago and was left waiting on the phone on hold for a full hour before I decided to hang up. I wrote an email to their support service asking for helping and telling them about the call and still haven't received even a reply. It's really bad customer service experience for this recent issue. On a positive note, when the service works, it's usually great and stable. Once, I had a field technician come and he was really good at correcting an error with my line, that could have been solved over the phone. So plus some points but minus other points. This recent customer service experience is the pits, though. Shame on you, Wave. read more
