If you're in the Monterey peninsula, they're based out in Salinas so they'll be at your location really easily. For packing services (labor), it was $120/hr, where it's a 4 hour minimum and then they charge hourly after that. They utilized their own cargo truck which is $150. Thank you! Communication was easy, though sometimes took a couple hours to respond. Move day went fairly smoothly, and we were happy with the care taken to blanket and wrap items. The only disheartening thing was they really hesitated about moving our TV stand because it has glass shelves and is fragile. They didn't say "no" but just kept saying it's fragile and what do we want to do about it, and we were so stressed from the move we just said to not worry about it and we'd figure it out... So we ended up having to donate our TV stand because we had no way to move it. We'd still use them again and recommend them. Maybe just with fragile items have a game plan beforehand.

I highly recommend D&L Movers to anyone seeking moving service…read more Among around 10 moving companies I used in bay area, D&L is absolutely the best one. From booking, quote, to the moving job, to finishing up, they are super professional, efficient, and honest. The guys worked tirelessly for 10 hours and they didn't show a bit of slowdown. Everything was handled with care. We didn't even take items out of drawers. They moved the heavy furnitures, including a piano, with ease. Also I recommend their packing service. I had a few cabinets of glasses, cups, and dishes that I didn't have time to pack before they arrived. I estimated the packing would take me at least 4 hours. But one guy in D&L finished packing in less than an hour! It's super fast and cost-efficient. I should have hired them to pack more stuff. When calculating the final cost, they carefully deducted the lunch time. Two folks joined in the middle, and they calculated the labor cost by person-hour honestly. My overall experience with D&L has been pleasant. Every dollar spent was worthy. My only regret is that I didn't know them and used them earlier!

We had a good experience with Central Coast Movers! They helped us move from Monterey all the way…read morenorth to Humboldt for ~$4,750. They came over to look at our apartment and give us an exact estimate a few months ahead of time. The estimate was a one-line email with just one number and no breakdown of cost or details of any kind, which made me uneasy, but that number really did cover everything, including tax. Many people helped move us (7+ in total, I think) and the people that loaded were different from those who unloaded, so we should have tipped every person individually in cash instead of waiting until the end. Also to note: keep your checkbook or wads of cash handy, because there is a 3% fee to use credit card. That really adds up on a big move! I was not able to get all of my questions completely answered via email (some details were missing), but I was able to phone and get clarification on things easily. x25 large moving boxes were provided for free - I had to ask for them a few times, but we got them fine in the end, delivered right to our doorstep. Central Coast Movers also provides wardrobe boxes for all your hanging clothes, and they load all the clothing from your closets for you, which is so convenient. Our loading day was delayed 1 day due to extremely bad weather, but everything turned out well in the end. They kept me updated on arrival times and stayed in communication during the move. They protected our carpets with long cloths on the ground and nothing of ours was lost or damaged. I can recommend them!
