Excellent wines
Tony M.

Absolutely wonderful addition to Doylestown! Exciting to have an urban winery concept :). Huge selection of wines from around the world along with an extensive food selection. Service was top notch and timed perfectly. Jan our bartender was wonderful, very well versed in the wine selection and able to make informed recommendations. They offer traditional tasting, flights and glasses. The Brussels sprouts were delicious, we will absolutely be back. L

Ricotta starter and Chicken Slovakia.

Came in last night with a friend for happy hour. We were both very impressed in the restaurant. It has a relaxing sophisticated vibe. What started out as just one wine turned into a bottle of the best sparkling wine and dinner!! Bartenders were very informative and friendly. Jan is an asset to Waters Edge! He went through the menu and explained the wines throughly. He choices were A++++. Great addition to town! We will be regulars..

My wife loved the cavatelli, it had shredded crab and 3 decent sized shrimp in a lovely display on top. They also had a wine flight that my wife enjoyed. The only issue we found was the fig carpaccio didn't seem to have any prosciutto on it. It also would've been nice to have more mascarpone for the price. All in all it was a lovely experience and we'll probably try them again.

Wow. I don't have a clue how to describe this experience, but I can honestly say it wasn't like…read moreanything I've ever encountered at a winery. Tons of convenient parking? Well, no. After the fifth car or so shows up, you're going to have a bit of an adventure figuring out where to put your own. There are random offshoots from the unpaved driveway with handmade parking signs, but it can get dicey. At least one giant room with high ceilings and a ton of space to move around in? Well, no. It's honestly more like a garage that hasn't been cleaned out in 20 years. Countryside views of a vineyard to admire? Well, no. There was a chicken coop. A port-a-potty with a flower pot or two nearby. About 20 random buckets just outside collecting dust. And trees. Lots of trees. Every consistent trait I've seen from a winery was openly flouted here, and yet it worked and was easily one of my all-time favorites. I stopped by with an old chum on Saturday afternoon, unfortunately not for very long (which is what happens when you just decide that the DMV inspection site is going to be open on Veterans Day. Lesson learned.). I stumbled across a review of this place a few weeks earlier and my quirk radar went off. One of my tribe had opened a winery. I could feel it. It was less than a 10-minute drive from the Point Pleasant area on Route 32. If you're not that comfortable navigating some of these old school Bucks County roads, I'd strongly recommend confirming your GSP is working before embarking on this journey - the signal is rough in the valley, and I definitely had to manually jigger around with Google Maps more than I wanted to. This is by no means an insult, but Desiato's is one discarded bathtub away from being considered an out-and-out hoarder situation. It's SO overstimulating to look around, both inside and out. There are random items everywhere; it feels like you're in a kitschy antique store, or one of the early incarnations of a TGI Fridays with random ephemera on the wall. It's a sight. The service to me is what really sets this apart though. We were greeted effusively at the door by the proprietor Lou (short for Luigi), who asked for our names and remembered them throughout our visit - and by the end was hollering across the room to me, "Em! You can pay here!" It felt so comfortable in there, and reaches a level of hospitality you honestly don't really encounter in a non-Michelin establishment. Truly wild, truly amazing. The wine almost ends up being an afterthought, which is pretty insane. I obviously have to come back for a much longer visit, but we only had time for a quick nip. I ordered a hot wine that had spicy nutmeg vibes to it (it started with an I and was certainly an Italian name), and hit the spot - given that it was hovering in the high 40s, it was seasonably appropriate to boot. The only downside was that we took our drinks outside to continue exploring, which meant my last few sips were colder, but that's the life I chose. Just to top this off, when we came back in to pay, there was just a random cat on the counter (bring your Benadryl if needed). His name was Oakie (sp?). My only regret on this visit besides the short duration was that I never confirmed if he was named after a Chardonnay description or a Dust Bowl inhabitant.

It came with 5 pieces and one of the shrimp was ripped in 2 pieces before they served it to me - they must've known this because they hid it underneath another shrimp during the original presentation of the plate. I would say six tables at most. The decor seemed a little tired and could use some freshening. The bar area sits a step down from the entrance and seemed active. We decided to each have a drink to start and I had the prime rib carpaccio. The meat was delicious and very thinly sliced. The cheese and capers were a perfect flavor profile. They had elk on the menu so I couldn't resist. It was cooked perfectly and absolutely melted in my mouth with a tasty reduction over top. My wife had the seared scallops over two colors of noodles and scallions. The scallops were a touch too salty yet cooked perfectly. The dark chocolate cake was simply amazing. A must if you go. The food was quite good and they always seem to have some unique options if you like wild game. Give it a try and see what you think.

There is no interaction with the staff to learn about the grapes, origin, how it's made etc etc. true wine drinkers love the traditional experience that this winery just misses the mark on. We had a 6:45 reservation and were greeted promptly by the hostess and seated right away. The décor has a nicely polished feel, and I really love the bar positioned in the center of the room. It is a small, well-run restaurant with a friendly staff. I certainly will keep that in mind as a place to sit for our next visit. The food clearly leans fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and we started with cocktails from the bar. I had a perfectly poured Manhattan, while my wife enjoyed a glass of French Rose. For dinner, I had the Trout Murat, which was outstanding. My wife ordered the Tagliatelle Bolognese, and she commented that it was really good as well. The menu blends Italian and French influences--perhaps with a nod to southeastern France. The portions were perfect and we had "room" for desert. Glad we did because the Panna Cotte was outstanding. Slate Bleu is a terrific local spot. Easy to get in and out of from a parking situation-rarity for Dtown. We'll definitely be back and not a big gap like last time.
