He's always quick to respond, enthusiastic about the projects, and takes a real pride in his work and making sure things are done in a way that will last. We did a complete backyard overhaul and transformed it from a bare mud pit to a backyard oasis that we now love spending time in now: new sod on half the hard, paver patio and crushed granite on the other half, limestone retaining wall and mulch bed on the back wall, drainage, and irrigation through out. We had an old and non functioning irrigation system that we inherited from the previous owners and rather than just ripping it up and charging us for a new one, Aaron spent hours servicing and getting it to work, and then customized it to work with the new yard layout. We also had some freak of nature downpour of rain pretty soon after the big project was complete, which washed away some of the granite and caused the patio to settle with some dips. Aaron came back and fixed it all and added in additional drainage to keep it from happening again. Aaron is my guy forever now - extremely fair on pricing, honest, full of integrity, thorough, and just an all around nice guy. You won't be disappointed if you choose to work with him.

After the job completed, Aaron has always been incredibly willing to share advice for landscaping situations that we've encountered since the original installation. His knowledge is very deep and always leads to the expected outcome. I recommend Austin Yard Barber without hesitation.

I felt it was important I updated my review as a lot has happened to the deck in the 3 years since…read morethey put it in. Though the deck looked good initially in just 3 years it is rotting away and we just now realized to what extent. It got in such a bad state we decided to have someone redo the whole deck. When they took off the top boards the frame itself had half rotted away (including the whole frame for the steps) and we realized it could have caved under us at any time. In the attached picture you will see the current state of the frame. Half of it has rotted away. We initially used them because they were the best price and they did work fast and were flexible to our requests. However, the tradeoff seems to be they used poor material. It was either not pressure treated or leftover material they got from a building being constructed that isn't meant to be used for a deck. I can't confirm but regardless proper material shouldn't rot like this in just 3 years. I write this to warn you to make sure they are not skimping on the materials as this can become a safety hazard.

Most recently, Jesus and his team removed a large dead tree trunk for me (by the root). It was one hell of a job -- the tree wouldn't budge. So, Jesus and his team worked harder. They stayed into evening, working with a light. They wouldn't rest until they got it done. When they finally did, they made sure to clean up everything (in the dark). It was super impressive. See photos of tree, before and after. Very friendly, professional, communicative, thorough, detail-oriented, and extremely hard-working. Oh and the prices are reasonable. What more could you ask for?

From the first meeting, he was professional and took the project seriously. He started with a drone photo overhead and created a design with our architect's plan. Travis worked with us to design a drought-tolerant landscape with a combination of astroturf and xeriscape, as well as limestone paver walkways with black granite and black steel edging to go with the aesthetics of our modern ranch. Our third party inspector noted that many landscape companies do not weld the steel edging to the stakes, but Travis's crew welded all of the connections and the steel seems thicker than what we had at our previous home. We chose Thrive because of other Google reviews combined with our interactions with Travis during the quote and design process. We found the same to be true as other reviewers, which was his crew was very positive, helpful, energetic, and some of the hardest workers on our project. They were the first to arrive in the morning, worked hard and fast all day, and stayed often until dark. We truly appreciated the hustle, and the quality and beauty of the finished product and would not hesitate recommending Thrive to anyone in need of landscape services.

I did a lot of research on artificial turf companies servicing the Brushy Creek area and after some shopping around, came across Umesh and KG Lawn Care. After receiving some ridiculous quotes from some of the "bigger" artificial turf companies, offering a lower grade of turf for a substantially higher price, I went forward with the project with Umesh and KG Lawn Care. Umesh took on my project of installing approximately 1000 sqft of artificial turf, metal edging, and black star gravel around some cypress trees. Roughly a month before starting, I expressed to Umesh my desire to have the project completed in time for our family's annual crawfish boil, which he assured me he would fulfill. I can't say enough positive things about Umesh, Lucas, and their crew. As we neared the date of my family's party, Umesh assured me that he would push to make the deadline, even with unpredictable central Texas weather. Umesh not only kept to his promise in finishing the project in time for our party, but also knocked it out of the park! The artificial turf looks incredible and instantly became my daughter's favorite place to play. Umesh and his crew put a level of detail into the project in ensuring every aspect was perfect for my family. As pleased as I am with the project itself, the most noteworthy aspect I want to highlight in this review is how Umesh does business. In a world where so many are looking to cut corners, charge more, and provide less, I found that Umesh is a man of immense integrity who keeps to his word. Umesh delivered on his promise to ensure my yard was immaculate for my family's party, but most notably, his promise on pricing. A day before our turf was set to be installed, Umesh was notified by the turf company that the turf we picked out was no longer available (with zero warning). Umesh was forced to upgrade the turf at a difference of nearly $800. I offered to split the difference with Umesh but was told: "Nah man, it's all good. I like to keep my word and pricing. It's not your fault." This really struck me that Umesh was willing to eat $800 in order to keep his word with me on pricing. KG Lawn Care exceeded my expectations and truly helped me complete my dream back yard - The quality of work and character of Umesh will have me recommending him and his company to all my family and friends!

He has hardly finished 25% of our work. I would definatly stay away from him. Beware do not give him any depoists before the work is completed. I forgot to add that we had an offical contract signed by both parites agreeing on the payment schedule for 50% down before the start of the work and 50% at completion and mutally agreed contract pricing and terms. How can you trust someone to give more money if they are not truthfull to the agreed terms? I dont want to post the signed contract on this page but if anyone would like to ask feel free to reach out. He doesnt understand what a contract agreement means.

They did a cool underground drainage features with our existing gutters that I'm excited to see workout when it rains next. They truly did a wonderful job and picked up after themselves and even hauled some leftover rotten decking we had for us. When we…read moreinquired, they were several months booked, so we just procrastinated and didn't do anything. On the way home one month or so back, there was a PRT crew working in the neighborhood and it motivated me to reach out again. They quickly replied through Yelp once I sent them a message and the estimator was here in a couple of days for an estimate and to provide guidance. He was very helpful in making the decisions we choose. We pretty much revamped our entire landscape. New Sod, removal of old sod and installation of zero scape/natural flat stones/gravel. Replanted all the beds, reworked sprinkler system and a massive trim out of existing shrubs and the sort. Not inexpensive, however they were still less expensive then another service, who suggested such things as a French drain, which really didn't make sense and came in a couple grand higher. The crew were numerous and were on time, courteous and knocked out the project in only a few days. One slight slip was the sod was not available on the last day, so we skipped a day and had the job completed the day after. It still was in the time frame they informed us on to begin with and let us know the day before the sod was to be installed. The result of their hard work will be truly noticed when the new plantings take hold. We have been fortunate with having several days of rain and cool weather. A couple of weeks in the sod has taken hold and none of the plantings have died and are all perking up from the transplanting experience. We are very happy with the results and the ease of working with PRT from start to finish.

I consider myself a DIYer, but in this case, I wanted something done professionally to make sure everything was nice and neat. While I had a basic idea of what I wanted, I debated getting a formal project manager to handle coordination of the full install. With a ton of experience doing this kind of install, Marcus helped out so much that I was pretty much able to handle coordination of the main pieces and personnel without needing to hire anyone else. He did a great job making the vision come alive and was transparent with any problems that arises (and importantly fixing them when necessary). He was friendly, fair with pricing, and also very quick-- framing and installation took only 2 separate, spread out days (to allow for drywalling and parts arrival in between). My personal experience with him in terms of communication was excellent, but I also purposefully avoided peak summer season so as not to catch him at a busy time. I would not hesitate to hire him again.

He did what he said and was honest when he had to reschedule something. On top of that, he was always friendly and direct. Josh listened carefully to exactly what we needed, talked out any possible issues we'd have, and accounted for all the outlets and such that would have to brought out through the piece. We also had to re-do the crown moulding around the piece, and he noticed the poor installation of the rest of the moulding in the room, so he agreed to re-do the rest of the moulding, too. He's meticulous and thorough. We got to watch the progress as he built the piece, because he posts pictures on his Twitter account, which is great! The installation went smoothly, and the final piece looks great (as you can see in the picture) - it's exactly what we wanted and discussed. The new moulding also looks great! After talking to a few pest companies, not only did they get the species of ants wrong (acrobat vs carpenter) which affects the bait being used, but they also can't get their story straight. I contacted them about an ant infestation inside my home. The technician who came out placed sugar bait inside to eliminate colony. He told me that an exterior treatment was not necessary at that time. I accepted that recommendation, due to potential exposure for my active dog. Months later, I called to follow up because the ant problem had not been resolved. I was then told the $216.50 treatment of simply adding sugar bait for the interior also included exterior treatment during the original visit. That was surprising because I was never told an exterior treatment had been done. When I asked where it had been applied, they did not give me a clear answer regarding the exterior. Paying for another treatment isn't the issue. If the ants require another visit, I'm happy to pay for it. My concern is that the explanation of what was actually done has changed. Now, they're saying I have to pay another $216 for their services again. Something just isn't adding up. If there's a reasonable explanation, I'd like to hear it. Based on the conflicting information, I have little confidence in their service.

I have used these guys in the past for broken TVs and they have always provided a delightful customer experience. You have the options of leaving stuff out on the curb but I couldn't do that because of my HOA. Also, last time I had left a desk that someone snatched up from the curb. So I didn't want to waste their time again. Their technology use is pretty awesome and respectfully as a IT guy I appreciate how it makes billing simple and easy. You cannot go wrong with this company hauling your junk for you. It saves you time and effort than doing it yourself and paying for the fees at the landfill. I highly recommend using them from my own personal experience.

Hi Marian, I find it ironic that you remove your first apology response (see attached photo), and instead dispute all the points of the review. So, which is it? And, while your reply illustrates the points in my review quite well (i.e., not taking responsibility), it is fraught with errors. For example: 1. The additional design iterations were because of the poor quality your team delivered. You apologized for that throughout the process. At one point, you blamed it on a person that left your firm. Perhaps you forgot that part. And why would you send someone out to take more pictures after the 2nd design meeting if you thought you had it right? The site hadn't changed. 2. A certified land and tree survey, a sealed set of architectural blueprints (to scale w/ the tree survey and showing the trees), and multiple sets of eyes (including your construction crew) all disagree with your appraisal of the tree and floorplan situation. You were provided those documents at the start of the project. 3. The design problem became apparent when the construction crew was about to critically damage a tree. We stopped construction to figure out what to do because steel edging and multiple pavers had to be reworked. Your construction foreman agreed it was a design issue and we called your office to get your input. You didn't return our calls. We repeatedly called your office as did your construction foreman during business hours over the course of the next 2 days since work in that area had stopped. If you consider that harassment, then was your foreman harassing you too? 4. We never asked your company to pay for anything that we changed unrelated to design errors while the construction crew was working. We're happy with the changes and tweaks we made to other parts of the project, and we never asked you to take responsibility for any of that. We merely asked you to take some responsibility for the expensive materials and labor rework that Waterloo's flawed design around the rear patio caused. If you had returned a single phone call or come out to the site like we and your construction crew requested, then you would know that. We've explained repeatedly that we had to change the design, at our expense, because it didn't work (wasn't to scale, wasn't accurate on floorplan lines or tree location), so I don't understand why you keep saying that we implemented your design - we didn't! 5. Your construction foreman apologized for your behavior multiple times during their time working on the project. Seems like they felt something wasn't right with the way you were handling the situation too. And the crew was compensated in full for their work. We hired them directly and they did good work on the installation. We're not reviewing them here. 6. No one made threats. After repeated and unsuccessful attempts to get ahold of you over the phone over the course of 2 days, and after your construction foreman communicated (apologetically) that you weren't going to take any responsibility for the rework your flawed design had caused, we sent the contract to our attorney to get legal advice on options. I'd encourage anyone to do that in a similar situation if they feel a service provider is in breach of contract. We learned that the contract is written in your favor. That's on us for entering into an agreement with you, as I stated in my review. Either way, you had plenty of time to return calls before we communicated that's what we were doing. Instead, we got no response other than an email from your office with potential Zoom meeting about 1 month later to do a "design recap". We didn't believe that deserved a response since it was clear you weren't going to take responsibility for the current situation and we had a construction crew sitting around waiting for direction. Total backyard transformation accomplished! After installing (though a different vendor) a multi-tiered deck in a yard with a slope, we needed help with completely overhauling the yard as it was torn up during construction. We wanted a contemporary design with moderate maintenance. We had grand ideas but not the budget to support it, and Marian and Christina were creative and resourceful in developing a design that achieved exactly the look we wanted within our budget. Our sloped yard posed some challenges, which were handled with ease by Marian's team. Our project is featured in some of the photos posted. It's been about 9 months since install and everything has held up well. We are 100% satisfied, and I especially appreciated Marian's patience as we requested many variations on the design just to make sure we landed on the perfect plan. The crew is respectful, always keep a clean site, and finish the job on time. This time around we did a lot! They trimmed my Oak Trees, fixed mortar on my flagstone patio + re-stained my pergola (Morningstar built this for me in 2016 and it has held up beautifully even through our harsh elements), added clear polycarbonate roofing to the pergola, built limestone boarders for my flower beds, created an area for my grill AND put the finishing touches on a little rock garden I tried to start on my own. The crew of workers is also great. They make sure the dogs have time to go in the back yard, and they make sure the gates are closed. My old 25 year old cement driveway was stained, cracked, and puddled like crazy after any rain, and joints were missing mastic and had hollowed out with toads living inside. His team did the demo work and installed the pavers in just a few days for a pretty large driveway. They were good about cleaning up on a daily basis and the pricing was competitive. The result is incredible. RcTex also made sure to slope the driveway as I asked to avoid puddling and also installed a parking pad with retaining wall for my other car that doesn't fit into the garage. Finally they applied a sealer to the pavers for a nice wet look and to avoid stains. Pretty happy with the work! Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed working with Andy and his team at Rockview Landscaping. We had a very large…read moreproject planned for our backyard. A complete remodel with 2 retaining walls, new irrigation, sod, zero-scaping, a flagstone patio, hot tub, rebuilt deck, pergola, kitchenette, bar top, and electrical. Andy did an excellent job managing the project, paying attention to detail, and staying as close to schedule as possible. He gave us sufficient time after the job was complete to test the final product, make fixes, etc., before taking full payment. He went above and beyond to make sure to stay within budget and give us a beautiful final product. Before going with Andy we got quotes from 2 other landscapers. Rockview Landscaping's quote was in the middle. We didn't go with the cheapest option because Andy felt more trustworthy and willing to stay close to our vision. Additionally, the cheapest quote came from a larger national landscaping firm. It felt impersonal. We wanted to help a local business instead. The pictures speak for themselves. We included some before pictures as well so you can see how awful our backyard used to be, and how complete the remodel is. The slope in our backyard was very steep, making the lawn space completely unusable. The deck was rotting and painted over with an ugly green color. We cannot believe how much flat lawn space we have now, and the patio, hot tub, deck layout is beautiful and functional.
