I stopped in this afternoon to finish up some work before I had to pick up my daughter from daycare around the corner. The coffee was good, I purchased a mocha. It was solid, not the best mocha ever but better than average. There's also tons of places to work there a, it wasn't very busy at 4 PM on a Wednesday afternoon. I have worked here before and got a cold brew. That was really good but when it's 39° outside you really don't want a cold brew. Haha! This is definitely an upgrade to Starbucks, which is everywhere. I love going to Waterbean! It's such a great local coffee shop. I love their matcha latte and their iced coffee. They also have a good smoothie which I believe is organic! All of the drinks are good, and the potion size is satisfactory as well. I've never tried the desserts in the display place, but they always look really good. I think the best part of Waterbean is the atmosphere. It's the best place to sit and work or hangout for a while. It's quiet, relaxed, and comfortable. This particular location is very roomy and has a lot of tables to work. Just a tip- the Cornelius location closes earlier in the evening than the Huntersville location. Go to the Huntersville location if you're looking for a place to sit and drink coffee later in the night. read more

Driving to Lake Norman to visit the Three Dog Bakery, I told my boyfriend that I needed some caffeine. We decided to find a local coffee shop instead of Starbucks and came across Waterbean. While I originally intended to get my usual iced chai, the iced Thai tea advertisement on the door caught my eye. I've found that Thai teas give me more of a caffeine boost and on this gray and gloomy day in late February, it was exactly what I needed. While it wasn't quite the same as at a Thai restaurant, perhaps a bit less sweet, it was still pretty good. read more

The best London fog I've ever had!! The foam stayed frothy the entire time I sipped my drink, it didn't fall flat. It had a really lovely vanilla flavor; my fiancé asked if it was marshmallow fluff. One of my favorites to spend a morning or afternoon working outside of the office. It is a good place to meet people but is not as intimate as a few other coffee shops in the area. If you are looking for big open space, then this is perfect. They have fantastic coffee, espresso, tea selections. If you order an espresso drink, you can choose from 4 different espresso options. I love #4! The pour over coffee may be my favorite pure option. No cream or sugar needed with this process because the coffee is so great. I've also tried the chia tea and regular drip coffee which were both good but the other items I mentioned were my favorites. The lattes were super creamy and not too sweet. They even have almond milk. They take bitcoin, if you like to pay that way. I haven't tried their sandwiches yet, but I did split my two waffle plate with a friend one time and they were great. The basics, I've always found this place to be hit or miss to actually have your drip coffee served hot. Too often it's luke warm.

Seriously stellar customer service from Mary! She's amazing at multi-tasking, doesn't burn the milk and makes excellent microfoam. I would love to see some local gluten free vegan pastries (as in it's both GF & V) or options for vegans, seeing as there is a local huge community to support it and lots of local vendors to supply. It would be great if the buzzing from the machines could be fixed, as it's really loud and distracting if you are staying for long (just a memo from someone who wants to see this place thrive). My wife and I tried Waterbean Coffee today and were thrilled to find such an amazing coffee shop in our area outside of Charlotte. The atmosphere was chic-modern and very relaxing. The coffee itself was fantastic, and you can tell they know what they're doing and really put care into making great coffee. My wife got the pour-over coffee, and I got a cappuccino. Both were expertly made. The pour-over coffee in particular was perfect and I could have drank it black, but it was prepared to my wife's liking. We were there a while and later ordered a ham sandwich and an iced coffee. The ham sandwich was surprisingly delicious with their own "waterbean sauce" and much better than anything you can get at Starbucks and for only $4.50. The iced coffee was also very good, and the barista even waited while I put the cream and sugar in the coffee so he could top it off with more coffee. I have been to many cafes both in the States and overseas, and this one is definitely towards the top of my list of favorites. read more

One word: 98 CENT MACARONS! Ok, so maybe I miscounted, which is what I thought happened when the server rang up my purchases... this place has THE cheapest macarons I've ever happened to find. The macarons are a bit smaller than other places I've been to but they also happened to cost less than half the prices of mentioned places. I tried the pistachio, coffee, raspberry and German-chocolate macaron (this last one was actually about $1.50 but it is significantly larger than the 98 cent macarons). My favorite was the pistachio! I gave this place four stars though because I don't think their macarons had enough filling. Waterbean Coffee also has a wide variety of drinks offered - so many option, in fact, that such an indecisive person like myself was too flustered to choose that I ended up not getting a beverage. I am definitely going back to try a drink sometime this summer while I am in the area though. As for the location, it is a very spacious place with a minimalist theme, which I like because the location does not cause a distraction for customers unlike most quirky-themed coffee shops. I think this would be a great place to get work done or get some quiet time for yourself. read more

This is a consistently great coffee shop. They roast and brew their own coffee (as of 2017 at their roasters in Huntersville.) That also have a great assortment of baked goods, as well as a small lunch menu! I've tried their macarons and muffins, both are delicious. I'm always impressed by their creations they come up with. They've had "the World" which wasn't what I'd call a home run, but the daring and bold attempts at new coffee drinks are appreciated and anticipated! Today I tried something called "the Volcano", which is a carefully crafted espresso drink. Sweetened condensed milk, topped with two shots of espresso, dash of cayenne and frothed milk and a creme brûlée type topping (caramelized?!) Its no wonder they named it the Volcano, because the flavor erupts in your mouth...bitter, sweet, and a bit of a subtle heat at the end. LOVE. My typical order is a latte or black coffee, both of which I absolutely love! I've not had a bad drink from here. Their syrup assortment allows for a multitude of combinations. They also have smoothies and teas (a lot of loose leaf options!) With their tea, they also have tea jelly (which is comparable to tapioca pearls, except these are square.) For any dairy sensitive people, they offer soy, almond, it or macadamia milk as substitutes for an additional cost. They just remodeled the interior; and it looks great! Very trendy and comfortable working space, perfect for meeting a friend or working in peace. Beautifully done! Don't make the mistake of stopping at a chain coffee shop. It's nice to know by the 3rd times I came here, Tony the owner recognize me.. Their services are on point. I love there Vietnamese coffee because it reminded of how my grandma used to make it.
