Mocha

I stopped in this afternoon to finish up some work before I had to pick up my daughter from daycare around the corner. The coffee was good, I purchased a mocha. It was solid, not the best mocha ever but better than average. There's also tons of places to work there a, it wasn't very busy at 4 PM on a Wednesday afternoon. I have worked here before and got a cold brew. That was really good but when it's 39° outside you really don't want a cold brew. Haha! This is definitely an upgrade to Starbucks, which is everywhere. As a bonus, I received a chocolate covered coffee bean on my plate! That was a nice little surprise. If you need a coffee, I highly recommend stopping in.

My first time here was a very pleasant experience. Much quieter than our usual DD or Starbucks, but nice. You can drink your coffee and contemplate what you're going to do today, nice place.

Thai iced tea

Driving to Lake Norman to visit the Three Dog Bakery, I told my boyfriend that I needed some caffeine. We decided to find a local coffee shop instead of Starbucks and came across Waterbean. While I originally intended to get my usual iced chai, the iced Thai tea advertisement on the door caught my eye. I've found that Thai teas give me more of a caffeine boost and on this gray and gloomy day in late February, it was exactly what I needed. While it wasn't quite the same as at a Thai restaurant, perhaps a bit less sweet, it was still pretty good.

London fog, mocha dark, blueberry muffin

The best London fog I've ever had!! The foam stayed frothy the entire time I sipped my drink, it didn't fall flat. It had a really lovely vanilla flavor; my fiancé asked if it was marshmallow fluff. The mocha dark was yummy and came with a chocolate covered espresso bean on the side. The macarons look phenomenal, and I'm thinking about getting a strawberry cheesecake macaron to go Update: couldn't wait, macaron is fantastic! The jam inside was a nice touch

We met friends here for coffee and what cool surprise! They take bitcoin here! And they have french press coffee. The ladies serving coffee were very nice and chatted with us. The decor is lovey although not for everyone.

We love this place. Just wondering why they have plastic bags for $23 bag of coffee. This isn't a Chinese restaurant. Not very classy.

A great local spot in Cornelius, entry to the Peninsula, albeit a chain. Nice offerings, good quality.

The basics, I've always found this place to be hit or miss to actually have your drip coffee served hot. Too often it's luke warm.

Located across the street from the new Atrium Lake Norman in Cornelius, Cocotte is my favorite…read morebakery - solely due to house made French pastries with an imported French flour and a lovely couple from France. Fair warning, It is pricey but worth it! Their best deal is their sandwiches that includes a side (today I chose the tomato soup with croque monsieur) Food: Tomato soup, while basic, was robust and flavorful. The Canneles de Bordeaux ($3.25) was a rum soaked cake that boast of a custard center ... dearest gentle readers, there was not a custard center a tasted more gummy than like a pastry The croque monsieur was a heat up I was expecting fresh and bubbly like true Croque Monsieur and it was essentially a sandwich that once upon a time had bubbly cheese and crispy bacon. Their best deal brioche it was on was absolutely incredible - soft, sweet, and spongy, but there was a stark temperature contrast to the "ran through the toaster" broiled top. My total after tip was $22.41. (Yes I tipped the staff for an order at the front and carry it to me, which is typically against my principle of no tipping if I have to stand and order but that's a different soapbox) Atmosphere: chaotic, loud. There is a small kiddo section with toys and a couple of arm chairs, 3 or four booths and 3-4 small tables along with outside picnic tables that have umbrellas. I have no idea who created the acoustics of this building but everything seems to echo, so if you're looking for a cozy cafe to get work done - this unfortunately isn't it. They do community events there for those who love to speak French or want to learn and improve on their French and are a part of Goodie bags app so if you can snag one of their deals - that's a fantastic way to support them! They are open Weekdays 7-3 (closed tuesdays) and 8a-3p on the weekends. Finally, they have paired with other local coffee shops to have their pastries for sale I would have paid the same (if not more!) for similar items at Panera (prepackaged, overpriced hospital food IMO) so I will hands down continue to support local, freshly made ingredients. I didn't have coffee this go round but thoroughly enjoy their lattes

The sandwich was spectacular on a wonderful crusty baguette. It wasn't heated up and made fresh about two hours before I came in most likely, so it wasn't soggy as others mentioned. It was wonderful. The flavor was very savory. My grandmother was very pleased with her breakfast sandwich! Big, flaky croissant with fluffy eggs! The coffee was not weak and I enjoyed it. Creamer was offered as a self-serve from a pitcher. It certainly felt better than opening 9 creamer cups between two people. Free water was offered at the end of the line, too. So, no waiting for a refill. I also got two pastries to go-- both were spectacular. Sweet in a savory and memorable way, rather than being over-the-top and masking fake-y ingredients with sugar like many places do. The bakers do a wonderful job. Despite the crowd and line, the employees moved quickly and kindly. Pleasantries were still exchanged and things made-to-order were out in a timely manner. The people here work very hard. It's a hectic job but they do it well and they do it without sacrificing small niceties or helpfulness. The interior was nice, too. Tables were kept clean and there was a nice area for little ones to occupy themselves while parents enjoyed their drink and meal. Books, some plushies, and pretend-play toys were there. No tablets or items that could make them hyper. I very much enjoyed my experience after a hard night and morning. Thank you to everyone that works at Cocotte for showing up and staying kind. With tip, for two people you can expect to spend around $35. Not a terrible price for a great brunch experience with great environment + people. I recommend 100%. Though, maybe come early in the morning while everything is fresh. Others have different experiences late in the day it sounds like.

I love French inspired cuisine. I have traveled across France. We hosted a French exchange student for a year. I took French in school. This was meant to be a specialized gift for the occasion. The small seating area only had 10 tables tightly fitted into the back of the strip shopping center store. The decor was eclectic but overwhelming. It feels claustrophobic but clean. There were two servers tending to the dining room. They were friendly. There were mistakes on the special menu and they alerted of the issues. They had a special Valentines menu, a tea menu, and a dessert menu. The tea was good. They got it out in a reasonable time. The server brought me a smidge of honey. They had a decent selection of caffeine free teas. She took our food order the same time as our tea order. We sat at our table waiting for an hour before questioned the status of our meal. The table beside us was also becoming restless and tired of waiting. Finally the table beside us received his chicken salad sandwich. His date received my date's order ant took a bite. They resolved this by taking the plate from the incorrect table and gave it to my date AFTER it was touched! This left me sitting there with no food. My date finished her meal and I was still sitting there with nothing. I only ordered a salad topped with grilled chicken!!! After being there for one hour and fifty minutes they said the chicken was still not ready. They didn't charge if for our meal but I never received any food. Nothing. This was a well thought out special occasion that was ruined by an incompetent kitchen. It was a disaster. I left there and stopped by Jersey Mike's. Two hours of my life totally wasted.
