Mr. Kirk is a certified barista who has gone through professional training to truly master his craft, and it shows. He made me the best dirty chai I've had anywhere in the United States--it's honestly tied with the incredible one I had in Kolkata, India. What impressed me even more was the attention to detail. He made my dirty chai with very little ice, exactly the way I like it, without me even having to ask. Every sip was smooth, perfectly balanced, and full of flavor. You can tell they care about quality in every aspect of their business. They even make their own ice using highly purified water with an exceptionally low PPM/TDS (he mentioned it's under 30 I think?) which speaks to the level of thought they put into every drink. Beyond the Defined, single source coffee, they also have a great selection of ice cream that my kids absolutely loved, along with delicious pastries like blueberry muffins, carrot cake, and more from a local baker. It's a wonderful stop whether you're grabbing a specialty coffee, a sweet treat, or something for the whole family. Mr. Kirk and his wife are kind, welcoming, and genuinely care about their customers. They even have a convenient drive-through, and the location is easy to get to--not far from the freeway. If you're anywhere nearby, do yourself a favor and stop in. You'll come for the coffee and end up staying because of the outstanding service and quality. We'll definitely be back!

I had to ask, and the sweet barista was happy to explain. She also put up with some of my silly questions about the menu/coffee and had my drink out quickly. My peanut butter cup latte was delicious, and my friend thoroughly enjoyed her peanut butter banana bread latte. I really appreciated the variety of flavor options; they do a good job of making it a fun experience. They also offer alternative milks, which is a win for dairy allergies, and the atmosphere is super cute. However, make sure you don't drive past! Banana bread lattes are sweeping my feed so I stopped by to try one and I was addicted from the first sip! Balanced espresso with not too sweet but certainly sweet enough banana syrup with thick cold foam and cinnamon on top.. you must try it if you are a fan of banana bread! They also have a peanut butter version too that I have my eyes on as well as a salted honey latte that sounds delicious! Very friendly service, reasonable pricing for quality, hand crafted coffee drinks and you would be supporting local! This is located in a food truck area and has convenient parking so pull in next time you are passing through and give them a try!

Back to the real Coffee House Experience…read more We lived in Cornelius NC which is about 10 miles away and this is where the original Waterbean Coffee was founded. It's still there and doing well. We move to Denver, NC about 6 years ago and there was not a Waterbean Coffee here at that time. Later Dilworth Coffee Co moved out, and they took over the space. It's a little hard to find due to the geometry of the building but it right down from the Harris Teeter. Coffee Houses have evolved over the years into two different directions. The original was casual with more of an emphasis on just regular coffees with a nod to organic and fair trade. This was a place to relax over a cup of coffee , chat with friends or break out a laptop or tablet and chatch up or get some work done. The other style was on all of the different combinations you could make with coffee with flavors, different roasts, hot or cold brews in a get it and go setting. Dive throughs are common. This is like the first. Not rushed, coffee is excellent (it is Organic and some is Free Trade Certified), Not as many flavors or variations, but the emphasis is on the coffee first. Depending on the type of day and my schedule, I like both but if I had to choose, it would be the Waterbean type.
