Stopped in after a day of shopping for a pick me up. The staff was friendly, it was very clean, and the drinks were amazing!

With the Hwy 150 road construction, we have avoided Mooresville traffic but found ourselves in the area so gave it a try. The original was always one of our favorites. Looking at the menu, very little change. Menu looks almost the same which was good because they still have one of my wife's go to favorites, the Cranberry Pecan Chicken Salad with Fruit. Needless to say, that is what she ordered and she loved it. I ordered the Pork Tenderloin Sandwich with a side of fries. I do not specifically remember this on the old menu but I may be wrong. In any case, it was excellent. Nice and thick and juicy with a great taste and texture. Not overcooked, tender and great texture. With all of the recalls, I told them to hold the lettuce, but lettuce adds very little to the Sandwich. Nice and clean and well organized. Walked in and was promptly seated and drink order taken followed shortly thereafter with ordering out entrees. Biggest thing that has changed is at the end of the meal. Used to be that you had to walk to the front to the cashier to pay. Now they bring a card reader to your table which is much more convenient. Will make a point of going again in the near future.

The restaurant had a good number of patrons, with about four tables available. I ordered, and my food came out in less than 10 minutes. I thoroughly enjoyed the eggs, the tea, and the pancake. The bacon was thin and overcooked. I ate it, of course, but I will not order it should I return for breakfast. Service was quick and cordial. When I left around 10:40 am, there were a few people waiting for tables.

Once to food came it was ok...but not worthy of the 4/5 stars that others have offered or the ranking as a great brunch place. She had a special with poached eggs, sausage, and one slice of French toast. Sausage seemed like it might have been fresh from a supermarket frozen package. French toast came super late. My omelet and biscuit were good enough (but not hot enough...did they sit around waiting to be expedited...short servers?). As for the grits. They ran out. How does a breakfast place in NC run out? They finally came after I had finished the omelet. Sigh. THEN the single slice of lukewarm French toast came. After the grits. After she was long finished with her eggs. It WAS delicious though. Perhaps an off day? Happens. Again, servers were delightfully polite. But food was only average, and the kitchen...well...read above...

Here's a more natural **Google review** version:…read more Service was the biggest issue here. One of the young ladies was very off-putting -- not rude, just not welcoming. The pancake tacos felt gimmicky and didn't hold together well, so I ended up cutting them up on my plate. They didn't taste bad, but the taco stands were silly. A 97 score isn't terrible, but it's not especially impressive either. Overall, the service killed the experience for me, and I won't be back.

Makes it feel very welcoming. We tried two of the sandwiches, the Americano, which had house roasted roast beef, caramelized onions, mushrooms, aoli dressing. So delicious. The bread is really soft too. You get a choice of chips or potato salad, also house made. Potato salad is very good, not at all mayonnaise overpowering or gummy. The other sandwich was the South of Philly Cheesesteak. Shaved meat with cheddar cheese. Very, very good. The Counter has a small area of seats from front to back plus a little area outside to sit. They are located between stores in a strip mall, but easy to find. Next time, I'll have to try their breakfast menu, as I can tell from the other reviews that they are large and tasty.

They do take reservations, but there is also bar area seating that is open to first come first served. We did have reservations and they were quick to seat us. The main dining area has a good amount of seating they also offer private dining areas for small groups or parties. Not certain which part front or back nine it sits on but the back of the establishment has a spectacular view of golfers out there doing their thing. Now to the food, drinks on point, food is delicious and came to the table at a very good temperature. We both had the filet and OMG the burnt cheese topping was something so amazing that you'd just have to experience it for yourself! We finished it off with their chocolate cake dusted with pistachios and their crème brûlée--both excellent! Glad I found this place, put your putter down and head over, you will not be disappointed!!
