I saw Defined Coffee a lot on social media so I decided to try it. I got the vanilla cardamom latte. Overall, the latte was good. It wasn't overly sweet. The roast was smooth and not robust. I asked to be able to use my to-go mug and was denied. Instead of asking if I wanted one of their mugs to drink the coffee in the shop, I was automatically given a to-go cup. I do wish they had asked because I would have just used their mugs. I sat inside of the shop and read. It was a busy Saturday morning with lots of families. It was slightly nosier on this day so maybe not the best if you are looking for a quiet space to read or work. I do think the space is great for meeting up with friends and being social! read more

I didn't get a drink so this review is on the food. I ordered almond butter toast that included banana slices, granola and honey on sourdough bread. It was tasty but for $7 it was only one small slice of toast - I guess I was thinking I would get two pieces. It took a while to get so I think they forgot about the order. City, different counties and purchasing freshly roasted coffee directly (Defined Coffee) the leader. they are incredibly methodical precise with everything they do. 4.5 stars. Good coffee but quite expensive for this area. My entire family ordered coffee drinks with oat milk lol: - Latte was good, creamy, and smooth - Macchiato was very strong and bitter. Rather too bitter for my dad, so we combined his macchiato with my latte, and then we split that combo drink lol. - Matcha was good and naturally unsweetened, which my sister liked. Ambiance was cute, open, and airy. Service was very friendly. Only con of this place is that the coffee is on the pricier side. Plus, the oat milk substitute costs $1, which is on the steeper side too--add that up over 3 drinks, and it's not cheap ‍ Hence, docking 0.5 star. read more

The shop is so welcoming, airy, & inviting. Staff is extremely nice & efficient with getting your order together. This particular morning I ordered a 12 oz. salted caramel latte & a blueberry muffin to go. My latte art was a very cute heart, that was perfect! Also, the muffin was huge! My sister & mom greatly appreciated it & said it was tasty! My latte was AMAZING! Temperature-wise & taste, it was so good, I could have had another! I love this area! One big building with antiques, pizza, burgers, and now a dope coffee (tea for me) place! Free Wi-Fi, sweet treats, and caffeine. Need I say more? Well, I probably should... As a Los Angeles native, having been to many many many coffee institutions, this place is legit. Great lighting, chill atmosphere, and they roast their own beans. Baristas are very nice too. The sunrise latte had a nice orange tang to it, which surprisingly complimented the coffee well! read more

If I could give SIX stars I would: Defined Coffee Mooresville is the best of all their locations imho. The people working here are beyond kind, hardworking, friendly, and helpful. The shop itself is in an old mill building and has the best energy - natural light, old wood floors, and all the modern up fitting you would find in a big city cafe. Not only is the espresso delicious but the pastries are HUGE and soooo yummy: try the cinnamon roll! *protip: there's a kids play area for parents that will keep them busy while you work or chat! For me it's true coffee shop vibes, I focus well here and their coffee is I'm only in mooresville every so often for appointments, but I literally arrive 2-3 hours before my appointments so I can visit this Defined Coffee! Some people say it is expensive, but isn't everything these days? The important thing is that it is worth it. Lofty ceilings and vintage wooden floors in the renovated mill give this place a homey feeling. Yet there is a separate modern feel with the design of the counter and interior signage. Add to that a nice variety of seating and you have the makings of a legit hangout. I like the fact that they use various glassware for the different coffee drinks, such as a small very thick glass for the cortado. if location, location, location was all there was this would be a six but the expectation / disappointment curve is cruel; accuracy is important and that's where Defined Coffee has missed the mark. been in a few times and it feels plenty coffee in here with a choice of seating plans and options including gazing in wonder at the roaster behind the glass. first time in asked for a macchiato and got a respectable caramelized latte which would have been perfect if I asked for latte caramello but I asked for a macchiato. in again asking for a macchiato and was asked if I wanted the smaller cup of delicious slightly bitter coffee-ness with a spot of milky fuzz or the larger cup of "that's not what I asked for..." I repeated my request in what I hoped was a pleasant tone but likely wasn't quite... In again and pretty sure I upset the help when I stated my desire for a macchiato of standard form and measures. trying to be a good customer but not having much success. if you come here plan on spending some time and cash to get your coffee fixed. baked goods are kinda steep but are of good quality so they have that and location going for 'em... parking is hit or miss depending on the day, time, and weather. read more

Some of the BEST coffee I've had in a really long time. Other coffee shops over sweeten their drinks, but Defined knows the perfect amount of sweetness required in each drink. Incredibly delicious! I ordered a Blackberry Lavender latte, hot, and I was enjoying every single sip. From the moment I saw the latte art to the first sip and the very last, it was super enjoyable... and that's just the coffee. I also ordered avocado toast that had red pepper flakes, a squeeze of lemon and everything bagel seasoning with a generous helping of avocado-- excellent! Great service from the staff. Kind and welcoming. The location is convenient in downtown Mooresville. I needed a place to work remotely and this place got the bill! The location is a bit on the loud side, but there was Wi-Fi, plenty of seating/individual tables, and outlets to plug into. The Wi-Fi code was right up near the register. A bit pricey imo, but then I experienced arguably the best lavender latte I've ever had. I also love that they serve up their drinks in proper mugs for in-house guests. Too many coffee shops i have visited will advertise using photos of their beverages in nice cups, but then in reality only default to disposables. The staff are really nice and I enjoy stopping in with friends or getting some casual work done here. read more

I came here with my 4 small children, not knowing what to expect. Some coffee shops are not great with little kids because of the quiet atmosphere. We ordered 3 pastries and I ordered a maple sunrise iced latte. The pastries were all delicious and very generously sized. My kids really enjoyed them. I personally would not recommend the maple sunrise latte however as it has a very strong orange flavor to it. I really wanted to like it as it was interesting sounding but Unfortunately I could not stomach more than half of it. As for the atmosphere I felt very comfortable with my children there. No one sided eyed them for being too loud and the employees were friendly. It's a very comfortable social environment. We will definitely return however I will try another flavor of drink next time. read more

I rarely review an establishment twice, but I must make an exception for Defined Coffee. That is because I need to let people know that this place continues to be an AMAZING coffee shop. Today, I had an iced Americano and a chai scone. Both were, as always, exceptional. The coffee was super high quality. And the chai scone was fancy and flavorful. I couldn't finish my coffee at the shop, so the male employee kindly transferred my drink into a to-go cup. He noticed that I was low on ice, so he offered and gave me more ice too. His kindness is what compelled me to buy another chai scone for the road! I also saw that he personally brought drinks and orders to tables. I love Defined Coffee. And I hope this place continues to thrive. I'm sure they will because their products and customer service are 10/10. Oh, and they nailed the coffee shop ambience here. They have tables for four, tables for two, booths for one, a small play area for children, spacious bathrooms, changing diapers for babies, calming music, plants, throw pillows, the list goes on and on. read more
