My in-laws brought me to Smallcakes while I was in town for wedding planning. I had the wedding cake cupcake and was obsessed. So much that I asked my in-laws to ask about baking our wedding cake. They provided beautiful pictures of cake options and were ecstatic to be a part of the big day. The cake and cupcakes were ready early and handled with detail and care when loaded in the car. I was extremely impressed with how well the cake held moisture. Our wedding was on a Saturday, and on Tuesday (after our minimoon) the cake was still moist and tasted fresh. I ordered a dozen cupcakes and 1 vegan and 1 gluten free cupcake for my boyfriend's birthday. The customer service was incredible. The young girls were patient with me as I made my decisions, as well as the manager- I'm assuming she was the manager. We were able to pick up the cupcakes the very next day! (I bought the bday signs on Amazon- did not come with cake) The cupcakes were very moist & very flavorful. Not tooooo sweet but sweet enough! Perfect. Everyone enjoyed it. I had the lemon drop cupcake and the icing was so good! Only complaint I have is I had my boyfriend's parents pick the cupcakes up, for the surprise. I ordered 1 vegan and 1 GF- both vanilla since he can't have chocolate (new allergy for him). I told them to make both vanilla bc he can't have chocolate. When his parents picked up the cupcakes- they asked what kind of icing, If any, we wanted for those 2 cupcakes. 1) I didn't know icing didn't come with it 2) He can't have chocolate but his parents didn't realize it. So his parents said do 1 of each, chocolate & vanilla. Well, both came with chocolate. Anyways, that's the only complaint. He can't have those cupcakes anymore lol. Stumbled across this gem while in town for a date night. I was super impressed with the cupcakes. First time I've been able to find cake this moist!! Surprisingly the Boston Cream was my favorite!!!! Definitely was not expecting how amazing it would be. Someone did get too happy with the coconut extract. I'm a huge coconut fan but the extract in this particular batch of icing was way too strong.
