We ordered take out on a Friday night. Staff on the phone and when we picked up our order were very friendly. Spring rolls were great and the sushi was also very good. Not a family friendly place! We took our children out to eat early this Saturday night when the place was empty. Our children were well behaved but management or owner (American guy w/ glasses) walked over and started giving my family looks. This man was just straight out nasty with his looks and clearly bothered. If this place wants longevity....it needs to work on its service side bc ordinary Chinese food can be found anywhere. Loved it! I had some chicken coconut curry and it was delicious. My wife had the red snapper and it was fabulous; they enhance the taste with a crunchy sweet sauce. Also, ask for the lychee martini; the bar tender is a master. I would even go there jus for drinks. read more

After going to Water Moon the past 2 years, i felt it was finally time to review. Simply put, this place is just not that good. Mind you this review is for takeout only. The sushi here is very poor, and I'm just talking about the basics, shrimp tempura & spicy crab. In addition, what would be a standard practice anywhere else, Water Moon is super cheap and won't even provide a soy sauce tray for to go orders. Additionally, the sushi tends to fall apart very easily and just doesn't taste very good. Their wonton soup is very bizarre, served with carrots. If you want good Sushi in Rye, spend the extra 2 dollars and head up to Koi Sushi. read more

Food is good. Most unorganized second rate takeout service. They have totally screwed up orders and tonight they told me 10 minutes. It in fact took an hour. So I had to stand there and do nothing for 40 minutes. read more

I've never had a bad meal there and I go there a lot for lunch and on occasion for dinner. I LOVE that they serve brown rice which is hard ti find at Asian restaurants and I find the prices reasonable and service always friendly and atmosphere is elegant and classy (good place to take groups). read more

Had a terrible experience, which is sad because their food is very tasty. I ordered lunch with the seamless app. My phone number had changed since registering and I knew this so in the special instructions, I left word to call my new number and listed the number. After waiting more than an hour, I called the restaurant and was informed that the driver came once and called but was told by the person who answered that they didn't order. I did mention that my number changed right? So the driver left then came back and knocked on the door. I live on the 2nd floor and can't hear when someone knocks on the first; the reason why I told them to call. So they told me to hold on, I believe so they can't fact check my complaint, then came back to say no one answered the phone when they called. I would've believed this lie if they already didn't tell me someone answered and said they didn't order. So the person on the phone asked if I was going to pick the food up. I said no because I didn't make the mistake. I was told the driver doesn't want to come back so would I like to cancel the order. I said no, I want my food. I was then told it would take another hour to arrive. When it came, the driver said I gave him the wrong number. Then I pointed to the special instructions where I indicated to call the right number. When I sat down to eat, the rice and dumplings were cold. I can't see myself ordering from this restaurant any time soon. read more

I've only ordered delivery from here. The deliverymen are kind of prickly and if you live in an apartment or co-op, they won't deliver to your door. They're also very expensive. However, they have the tastiest General Tso's Chicken (real white meat) and Shrimp Pad Thai around, so I will continue to order from them. Very very good food. Haven't had a bad meal yet. read more

Some of the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten - even when I was a poor struggling student in NY and looking for the cheapest food available. Had a 'sister roll' that was gelatinous, mushy crap - ate two pieces, felt ill, and threw the rest away. Then I tried the Chicken Curry - completely tasteless. I have been meaning to write a review on this place after eating there back in the Winter and getting serious food poisoning as a result. Both my husband and I ate the shrimp appetizer and pad thai dishes. Just after getting home we both knew that something wasn't right. We landed in Greenwich hospital that night on IV treatment due to the severe dehydration from the food poisoning. To make matters worse, I was 6 months pregnant and spend the night and part of the next day in the maternity ward under observation with IVs. Since that experience I have learned of others that have had food poisoning after eating there. I would be very cautious when eating at Water Moon. I think it's a safe assumption that their sanitary processes are lacking. We will never eat there again and would strongly urge others to think twice. I did inform them about it and was told a manager would be calling me back, but to no surprise I never heard a word. read more
