We came here for dinner and everything was amazing. It is expensive but the quality of the food is worth it. We started with the 4 pieces of crispy rice (scallop, salmon, tuna and wagyu) and they were all amazing. My favorite was probably the tuna and wagyu. We also got a caviar nugget and this was great to try but we probably wouldn't get it again. We then got a variety of sushi pieces and they were all amazing, fresh, and great sauces. Came in on a busy Friday night and managed to get a spot with no reservation. Not something I would overly recommend, I think we got lucky! It was a delicious intimate dining experience. The food comes to your table as it ready and I don't think you can really go wrong with anything on the menu. Each dish and bite was better one after the other! For 2, we had the following: 2 hand rolls, 4 sashimi, 1 crispy rice and 3 robota. This was just enough. We maybe could have done one more thing but overall we were really satisfied. The hand rolls are delectable. Super fresh and packed with all the tasty goodness as you make your way through the roll. They also have a wide selection of sashimi, all of which were amazing and carefully articulated with the most flavor packed garnishments. For the robota we went with the chef selection. The steak was so tender you could break it apart with chop sticks. The chicken was also delicious and packed with flavor. Some dishes better than others. We like the sake. The appetizer was good - blister shishito peppers - The nigiri was good - the sushi rice and pairing with the fish was a good combo. Robata was good. Salmon and pear was nicely done and paired together, wagyu beef was a little tough, mushroom and eggplant was ok. The beef and veggie- needed the pairing sauce. My husband and I visited this restaurant on a Sunday night, and it was pretty busy but we were able to get a 745 reservation. It's definitely an upscale and intimate restaurant, and the fish is extremely high-quality. We tried a variety of dishes off the menu, including otoro hand rolls, black cod and fatty tuna belly Nigiri, crispy rice tuna - every single bite was extremely fresh, and melted like butter. The chicken bao buns were delicious with crunchy crispy chicken and a soft bun. The steak skewer was smoky, charred and salty. Overall, the food was absolutely delicious, but I would recommend reviewing the prices. You do need to order quite a bit to have a substantial meal, and most of the sushi on the menu is sold per piece. Definitely worth trying and I plan on going back soon! read more

It was pretty busy, we initially got seated outside but it was quite windy, so we requested if we could actually sit inside and they were really nice about it and seated us inside. The inside felt cozy and intimate. The food came shortly after and it was delicious! We shared the 10 piece nigiri and bento box as well as some hand rolls and they were all amazing. Knowing that at the onset, I did enjoy the generous servings of crunchy and heavily battered tempura, chef's special set of "his and hers" nigiri set (for those with a companion/date, two of every kind) and their affordable "Teishoko" meal aka Chef's Meal that has the entire food group covered. Simply one of the best sushi restaurants in Westchester. The only problem with it is it's tiny, so getting a table at peak hours can be next to impossible though the staff is always accommodating if they can be. Picked this place to try for my birthday dinner. Place is modern, had a bar with seating area and there were some outdoor seating as well. To start, I ordered "one knight only" drink and it was refreshing. For the table we opted to order a few dishes to share since they were small plates. Food was incredible, everything was so fresh and tasty. Presentation was great. My favorites were the pork belly buns (so crispy!) and the spicy tuna crispy. But all the food was amazing and the drinks too. To end I ordered "Clementina" and it was so good and had that real clementine fresh flavor. Service was great, all the staff were amazing, helpful and accommodating. I recommend making reservations. I recently ate at Oko to celebrate a friends visit to my hometown of Rye, NY. I would like to start by stating that my family, friends, and I have dined at Oko many times since it opened on Purchase St. We make it our business to support the local restaurants knowing that many have failed within this particular part of town due to either poor food or even worse customer service. Overall the food at Oko has been excellent. The service has been decent as well. However, my most recent experience left an incredibly bad taste in my mouth and will ensure that I NEVER return to Oko. Mind you, my table was ordering non stop dishes and cocktails and fully intended on continuing to show our patronage... that is until we were essentially told that our time was up after an hour and that another party needed our table and we needed to transition to the crowded bar area. We were APPALLED by this LOW CLASS move and were utterly insulted. I have eaten at Michelin star restaurants and never received this treatment. It was an absolute EMBARRASSMENT and the ownership at Oko should be ASHAMED. If the restaurant is that desperate to turn tables while customers are still eating then they will not last long in Rye and will be out of business. I will make it my business to issue this complaint to the NY Chapter of the Better Business Bureau and Rye Economic and Business Council to inform them of this matter. Abraham did his best to provide excellent service after we were insulted and apologized for the rudeness of his colleagues. We tipped him handsomely despite the POOR TREATMENT. If you are in Rye DO NOT DINE at OKO. Dine at FOGAMA instead where they know how to treat customers with class and grace. As long time resident of Rye there are MANY, MANY better places to dine. The Lotus Root Tempura. The Uni Toast with milk bread, umeboshi, goat's milk butter, and smoked trout roe. The Pork Belly Boa with squid caramel, black garlic aioli, and napa kimchi. And, the Cedar Smoked Black Cod Nigiri with crispy beets, and horseradish. I am a sushi snob, and the last time I ate at OKO in Rye I felt as though it was as good as the best of any place in Manhattan. After last nights meal, I can confidently say that OKO is BETTER than anything I have had in the city or Westchester County. Chef Brian has added some amazing new hand rolls, including the A5, a super Toro, and a Lobster hand roll that will all knock your socks off. The fact that OKO gets better every time I go there is hard to comprehend, but it is my reality. Made reservation for two people, when we came in, they put us at a huge table next to the door. It was so awkward to seat at the 6 persons table when it's just two of you, not including the fact that it was so cold next to the door since they have only one door. Clearly they need a double door for the restaurant. We asked to be moved and they said "tables are limited but we will try, it will mean your will have less time on the dining experience". We loved anyways. Next to us there was a table of like 10 girls celebrating birthday, they were like 11-12 years old, loud, singing and laughing. How is restaurant ok doing that? That's not a pizza place! You cannot allow kids have a laid party when you are dining in such restaurant, paying $12 for a piece of nori. That was so weird. You should not allow kids party. Two couples wanted to move away from the table because it was unbearable. We ordered appetizers, bento box, poke bowl. Needless to say our sushi never arrived, lady forgot to place an order I guess. We were done with main dish and did not ask for sushi pieces since we wanted them before main, and clearly stated that. Bento box was very mediocre, nothing special. Sushi cone was very good, best part of the dinner. Poke bowl was good but nothing special. We also got ice cream which was very mediocre as well. Did a walk in and dined in on a Sunday with bar seating. Was immediately greeted by the host and manager. My friend and I grabbed seats at the bar and Tiffany, the bartender was a great help in explaining the menu items. The manager also came over to check on us and explain the menu items with amazing detail. Now to the drinks, they are very good. A nice handcrafted cocktail - we had an old fashion and a Lychee Chawari.
