I explained that I was there to pick up my own order, but was then told they don't do takeout and was directed next door to collect my "pickup order." After leaving confused, I called the restaurant to find out where my food actually was. Only then was I told to come back because my order had been there the entire time. The entire process was disorganized, unprofessional, and completely avoidable. What made the experience especially upsetting was that I was treated as though I didn't belong there from the moment I walked in. It felt like I was being stereotyped based on my appearance, and I left feeling embarrassed and disrespected. Whether intentional or not, that's how the interaction came across, and it ruined the experience before I even received my food. As for the food, the uni tasted old and lacked freshness. The scallops were mediocre at best--I'd rate them a C. The sashimi assortment was the only highlight, as it was fresh and flavorful. I had originally hoped to return for the dine-in experience, but after the way I was treated, I have absolutely no interest in ever coming back. No meal is worth being made to feel unwelcome. There are too many restaurants that value their customers and know how to treat people with basic respect.

Staff was friendly and the location is super convenient to my workplace. Bento box lunch was $15.95. We also ordered two yakitori skewers. The chicken meatball skewer came with three generously sized, flavorful meatballs -- very tasty. The other was bacon-wrapped scallops. While the scallops were on the smaller side and a bit undercooked, the sweet sauce on both skewers was delicious.
