S & S Roll, Out of this World Roll, Fire Dragon Roll

Very good sushi. Fast service (on a weekday). Not particularly friendly, but always polite. Our water glasses were kept filled. We ordered 3 specialty rolls plus shumai to start. Could've done with 2 rolls, they're very generous. Taste-wise, this is my favorite sushi place. But the ambiance is loud and busy. And don't expect to linger, they have no patience for that.

Came here for dinner with a friend on a Wednesday night and it was packed! We didn't have to wait too long to be seated though. The menu has a long list of options but I came prepared with knowing what to order beforehand! I was told to try the sushi roll with caviar (several types are included!) The miso soup was also a good choice to start with. Would love to come back and possibly eat outdoors, when it's not so hot out!

Sushi Mike's has the freshest sushi in all of Westchester. My cousin first introduced me to this restaurant almost 6 years ago, and I've been coming here and ordering ever since. The staff is extremely polite, and they don't hover over you but check in periodically to make sure everything is okay, so thumbs up for service. Ambiance is very chill. Definitely a great hangout spot for amazing sushi. Takeout is also great and the fish retains their freshness. I usually get the sushi deluxe set and order a few other pieces of nigiri a la carte. Their tamago and Ikura are some of my faves.

Avocado Roll and Sweet Potato Tempura Roll

I ordered delivery from here. For an appetizer, I got edamame. They were having a buy one, get one free deal so I got a second one for free. It was a perfect portion size and tasted good, but nothing too notable about it. Sometimes edamame is served with a heavy dose of salt on top but this didn't have much, which I appreciated. I also got avocado and sweet potato rolls. The sweet potato came with extra tempura on top which was a nice touch, though the fried dough could have been a little crunchier. The rolls were tasty. A good size, but not overly stuffed. I specifically chose this place because they have a side of spicy mayo on their menu. This is what takes vegetarian rolls from good to great and I didn't want to risk asking for it in the notes of my order and the restaurant forgetting to include it. Their spicy mayo had a stronger kick than most places so I really enjoyed it. However, they charged $3 for just a side of this sauce, which I felt was way too high. Other than that, I really enjoyed my meal!

After eating what little chicken and noodles came in the dish, this was what was left - all cabbage.

we've been customers for at least a decade if not longer. For the most part the food has been excellent...then sometimes just good...now NOT good. Some nights are ok some are amazing, the consistency isn't there and when you spend $160+ on takeout food for 2-3 people, it should be very good! Tonight was as new low, 80% of my dish was cabbage. There was barley any chicken, pea-pods or NOODLES. (Chicken Yaki Udon is a NOODLE dish). Also, trying to pick up an order has been increasingly difficult, a couple of times they didn't have our order. Other times we have been told a hour+ on a weekend night only to get a call 14 minutes later saying it was ready. Then they stopped calling to confirm online orders so we'd have to call because we had no idea if they received the order....We will not order here again.

Great Rolls, Quick Service. Out of The World Roll was so enjoyable that I didn't need much Soy or Wasabi . A truthful statement, they have a better Wasabi. They don't open until 3:30 so pay attention to hours!

Mike never disappoints. He is creative, personable, and a master at his art. I got the Omakase again and here's how it lined up: 1) it started with smoky Oysters, shucked and plump 2) Horse mackerel with fresh wasabi in a dipping sauce 3) Japanese amberjack with truffle and caviar 4) Garlic lobster with sprinkles of edamame where the roe would be 5) Crispy Horse mackerel with green tea salt 6) Foie gras sushi 7) Uni, scallop and ossetra caviar 8) A sushi medley of toro, shrimp, salmon, uni, red snapper, lobster, and an eel roll with a clam soup to cleanse the palate between each piece. Everyone in my group was truly impressed with the quality of their dinners and Mike's hospitality. Mike is an artist. Give him a chance to show off and he will blow your socks off.

Oh Yelp, how lucky I am. How lucky I always am. How lucky I was to stumble upon Hawaii Japanese Cuisine on the ever industrious Warburton Ave. Saturday Farmers Market. Meredith's Bakery. Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Bread. If you know you know. Anyways. Out in Waikiki I learned to appreciate Poke. I once appreciated Pokemon. What's Politoed up to these days. Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly depending on your grasp of history, Poke is actually a Hawaiian dish. Japanese inspired, of course, but that's why the name of this spot is quite unique (although not catchy). Catch of the day. Rack of the day. So how'd I get here? You ask? ASK ME. Fine! I'll answer. Calm down, needy much? I'm an active guy. I participate in activities. Typically solo, I'm riding solo I'm riding solo solooooo. Man, just imagine walking down the city streets with a Walkman in blasting Les Miz. The dream. Anyways. I just got back from the island life and I was craving some fresh fish, at a sizable size with some balance of fruit, veggies, sauce and quantity for a beautiful price. And I just so happened to be running myself into the ground at the track in Irvington. Or was it that low-lying track in Hastings. The bees. The bumblebees. Maybe the hornets. It was Irvington. The bulldogs. Grrrrrr. I just ran myself into the ground. Sprints for about an hour. Bad hammy. Few months later tore the calf while calfmaxxing. Probably related. That said, if you're craving raw fish it's convenient for a Piermont resident, affordable, easy to get a table, and takeout is always an option. A lot of the menu leans toward rolls drenched in heavy sauces which makes it hard to tell just how fresh the fish really is... or isn't. But if you order a sushi entrée, it does come with soup and salad. They also serve Nigori sake, not always a given at more middle-of-the-road sushi spots, so that's a definite plus if you like the milky stuff like I do. It's easy, it's quiet, and they'll occasionally throw in a few extra pieces, which is always appreciated. Being right off 9W makes parking simple, proving that in Piermont easy parking does still exist, even if it's not where you expect it.

Small, not many cars, middle of nowhere and an "Open" neon light in the window. Inside, it's a quaint and very welcoming. About 10 - 12 tables, lots of wood and a sushi bar as the main attraction. We were the only ones in there **, so we took the opportunity to ask the waiter some questions. To our surprise, Hinode has been open for 21 years. From our own perception, it looks family owned. We saw 3 generations working that day. We were in the mood for sushi, so that's what we came for. But we did start with the Shumai Dumplings. Which were so delicate, tiny and full of flavor. Next time we'll get two orders. Sushi Cupcake, 2 Special Rolls (one with Shrimp Tempura & one loaded with fish) and a Tuna/Salmon Avocado Roll which was compliments of the Sushi Master. In other words, Free ! Everything was super fresh and delicious. So much so, that nothing was left. Washing it all down with their Roasted Green Tea is a must. ** We went on President's Day at 4pm Most likely, it just opened

The broth was very salty and had a lot of soy sauce in it. I couldn't even finish it due to the overpowering taste of soy sauce. It made me gag. A few hours after eating the udon, I felt very nauseous and my stomach was hurting a lot. The miso soup is an acquired taste and very salty as well. The salad had vegetables that were mentioned as an allergy so I couldn't eat that. The bento box was worth the price, but the udon was not. I was sadly disappointed with it. They are very busy so I do not suggest coming here if you prefer quality over quantity.
