Tom is amazing! I unwittingly called him after business hours, but he still called me back shortly after--which really shows his dedication to his craft. I brought my Daytona watch to him to diagnose an issue with the seconds hand stopping intermittently. He quickly hypothesized what the issue could be. And rather than trying to take my money on an expensive service, Tom recommended a less invasive approach to see if the watch could fix itself first. I went to Watch Doc while in Burbank, I went in to the shop because the glass on my Rolex was broken and I took it in to Tom and he told me that a small piece was stuck between the dial and the hands and it damaged the watch. He took great care of my watch, the place was very inviting and they do have an amazing selection of straps to choose from so when I went back to pick up my watch I dropped off another watch for a strap replacement and a battery as well. read more

I messaged Watch Doc when I was looking for local watch repair businesses to replace the batteries on my Casio G-Shocks. Thomas messaged me back with price quotes within a few hours so I appreciated that... I had also reached out to a good friend of mine who loves his watches if he knew a place and he said, "Why don't you see my friend Tom at Watch Doc? He's right by your work!" Suffice it to say, it was meant to be. None of these watches had yet needed a battery replacement so I did not know where to go and what to expect. I trusted my good friend Helm's recommendation and with Tom messaging me back promptly, I had an idea how much it would all cost. It also gave me peace of mind for sure... I took my 4 G-Shocks that all need battery replacements a few days later. I dropped them off on the morning and my watches were ready after lunch. Great turnaround time. Tom was also really thorough with my watches when he noticed that moisture may have gotten in the corner of one of the G-Shock's internal gasket. He cleaned it up and took care of it. I'm glad I found an excellent watch repair business thanks to a good friend who has entrusted his timepieces to him over the years and a simple Yelp search. Grateful for that. This review should be read by anyone considering having Tom service their Rolex. I admit I was a bit nervous to bring in my 1993 Rolex Day Date to just anyone but saw another review mentioning their Rolex and figured hey... based on everything else I'm reading, I'm sure this place can handle the simple task of changing the day wheel to a dif language seeing as the watch was serviced when I bought it (or so I thought). I brought it in and got the vibe that Tom is a capable watch maker, well beyond your typical battery change/end links/small fix type place the city is filled with. He should advertise high end watch service, for sure. I left my day date with him and he had it finished in a couple days. When I came to pick it up, which was very soon after, I was disappointed to see my Rolex now malfunctioning when I quickly changed the time hands to see if the day/date still changed at midnight. On my second round of spinning, the crown started to make an ugly gut wrenching click and grind. I should mention, I was NOT being gentle with the crown. I showed this to Tom and he was quick to say to please leave it, this watch was likely not serviced when you got it, and to trust him that he will service it properly and that he should've checked the movement before just swapping the wheel. He explained the pricing of this service. The price was high enough that I thought for sure he knew what he was doing. Now I should say I own my own service business servicing high end musical instruments, most well beyond the price range of your typical Rolex. I know from my own experience about peoples budgets and how often times just doing a small job on something will bite you in the butt later if you don't insist on a full service (which we require in my business). That said, I understood that it was likely he was correct in that it just needed a real service, and I didn't stoop to the low level of saying "it didn't do this before I brought it to you to change the day wheel" which is about the dumbest thing anyone can say to me and presumably to Tom, too. I left my Day date for the next round of service. Tom seemed to feel bad that this happened and got to it right away. The next day he texted me to show me what parts had broken as the watch was dried out as it hadn't been serviced as advertised by the people who sold it to me just a month prior. Truthfully, when I got the DD, I did think the winding felt a little stiff but assumed it was because it was an older model than I already owned, a 2013 Submariner. He also called me, knowing I am curious, and explained to me where he gets his parts, how they are authentic, why he only uses authentic parts, and why this malfunction happened. He had it done just the next morning, fully serviced. He returned my old broken parts as well as my original day wheel and, even though I didn't ask, still felt the need to give me a price break. He didn't speak ill of the seller of my watch and said it was actually a great example of the watch but certainly was NOT serviced. I removed the crown, checked the day date alignment, and wound the watch.. it feels just like my submariner now :). Overall, I'll absolutely be back. I have noticed most local Rolex dealers are no longer offering service and I am further convinced most gray dealers are flipping fast and maybe changing gaskets, but not a full service or even a lubrication (which is all I needed for this have been avoided). If you're in the valley or anywhere and are looking for an honest watch maker who knows Rolex watches without the crazy wait time or crazy prices, you found one. Tom mentioned he especially likes vintage rolex watches, so if you have one of those, you're all set. THANK YOU Tom for your good business ethic and great workmanship!!! read more

Had an experience so good that I had to write a review for it! I have an old digital watch that was eating battery-after-battery. No other shop in LA would touch digital watches except to change the battery. I called Thomas and he agreed to at least take a look. To my surprise, it was across the street from Priscilla's -- a coffeeshop I visit frequently. Priscilla's doesn't have a parking lot, but Watch Doc does! I drop off the watch and head for some coffee, but Thomas tells me to take a seat. Within seconds, he's got my watch open and he tells me all the things that are wrong with it. Apparently, the last owner did a bad job of maintaining this watch and there were 3 missing parts that I was unaware of. Thomas got my watch fully working again in 20 minutes! I had a battery replaced for a nice watch and charged me $55. It's a bit much in my opinion. Others charge $15-20. I wouldn't go again.

I wouldn't go anywhere else for sizing or service. The owner is a master at his craft and a pleasure to deal with. Friendly and informative, prices are already incredibly fair for the quality of work, but even if I could find it cheaper, I'd still go to WatchDoc. Came in to get a battery replacement on my favorite Movado watch. It was strange that it stopped working when I replaced the battery only 8 months ago, which I had taken to a Movado store at the mall. The Watch Doc owner was super responsive and friendly and pointed out that the previous shop placed an incorrect battery which is most likely why it stopped working. (Again disappointing considering the Movado store should have placed the correct battery of their product and they had charged me more than double to a battery replacement).
