Absolutely still love coming to this place! Service is always outstanding and the food is so so yummy! Not too busy and it's always a nice date spot for a quiet environment.

Chicken Katsu Curry
Susan B.

We were excited to try this place for the first time. We came here Sunday evening and only 2 other tables were occupied. I wasn't hungry so didn't really want to eat much. We decided on chicken katsu curry, cold tofu and chicken karaage. Portion for the curry was huge. The flavors were good. Cold tofu was decent but nothing special. Chicken karaage was a disappointment. I love fried chicken so I wasn't happy with the karaage. It was not crispy and super pale. The batter seemed more like tempura. Our server was friendly.

We are huge fans of Japanese food, and this place did not disappoint! Good ramen is hard to find in this area, and I would arguably call this some of the best ramen in the Elk Grove area. The appetizer tataki is good too. We haven't tried much else from the menu, but will go back again for the ramen! Service is very fast and friendly, our food was out in under 10 minutes.

Chicken Ironyaki & a roll
Annie N.

We had the chicken ironyaki which came out on a skillet with corn and salad on the side that was presented nicely. It also was tasty and filling. We also ordered a salmon sushi roll that was decent. Looking around, the other tables around us all had ramen bowls. I think this place must be known for their ramen, so when we return we would have to try their ramen. I also saw that they had tsukemen (dipping ramen) on the menu that caught my eye. The server was friendly and overall we had a good experience and would return to try different items.

Ate here for the first time today and it was fantastic! The food was delicious and the service was amazing. I would highly recommend. We had the house salad, spicy tuna crispy rice, and two sushi rolls. The food came out hot and fresh!

Beautiful space . Dark wood makes it cosy yet modern

What a great find ! Came to this place, based on a recommendation. it's tucked away in a quiet little shopping plaza, and that makes one wonder if they get enough traffic. However, I was happy to learn that they are in their third year, so the local residents have discovered how great this place is. Probably the best Ramen I have had in years. I had the Tonkatsu spicy Ramen, and the noodles were nice and chewy, the broth was perfection ... spicy, and substantial . The egg was perfectly jammy, and the pork belly cuts were fatty, but chewy and just perfectly seasoned. We started off with one of their appetizers that was a take on a Japanese style taco, and it was probably one of the best appetizers I've ever had. The spouse had the sushi and it was a crispy, jalapeño based sushi and he declared it to be excellent. What really separates this place from other small establishments is that the chef here has really thought about the dishes, and understood not just complexity of flavor, but also complexity of texture. So as a result, you get these dishes that provide great flavor but at the same time engage with your palette in a wonderful way. I cannot recommend this space enough. Service was also excellent . They only had one server but she was on top of it all and smiling the whole time . If you aren't eating here you are missing out . Finally, absolutely love the ambience of the place. It's all dark wood and a quiet, cool ambience that really focuses in on the food and makes one appreciate what is being brought out for you. .

Hands down the best ramen and Japanese food in Sacramento area. I travel a lot to Japan so I know what an authentic taste of Japanese food is. The ramen here is just excellent and all other dishes are delicious and tasteful. You can feel the food is made with heart. The food is so good that I have tried coming in for lunch and then dinner on the same day! I have also tried driving 25mins across town just want to come here. It's definitely a place to go for Japanese food in Sacramento area.

When struggling to figure out what to eat, we somehow always find our way back to Washoku haha. It was not busy that evening, so it was nice and quiet. Don't let the lack of people fool you though, this place has very good food. Their Hokkaido Ramen is always spot on. It's very flavorful and the portion is more than enough. My son had their Tofu Kurry, and he enjoyed it very much. The curry is very tasty. The service is always good. Oh, one thing that was a surprise, is that we got a free order of Gyoza. If you're wondering, it's chicken. Very tasty, especially when it's Free haha.

New favorite alert! Was next door at the 3D printing studio and decided to stop by for lunch- so glad I did. We got an unagi skewer and a pork belly skewer to start. These come out piping hot with the perfect amount of char. The unagi was soft with the perfect amount of sauce. The pork belly was tender and melts in your mouth- must try! I got the garlic tonkatsu ramen, which the waitress said is her family's favorite. It comes loaded with noodles, tender pork, perfect soft egg. The broth is not too salty or garlicky, and random but the bowl keeps everything so nice and warm. My boyfriend got the hamburger curry. The rice was perfectly cooked and the curry was so flavorful and comforting. The hamburger patty could've been seasoned a tad more, but it was still delicious. It's a quiet restaurant with a decent amount of seating and great service. Would definitely return.

Wanted to try a Japanese restaurant that wasn't just sushi and this has a nice pick of izakaya and other less common items like Ironyaki hamburger. Service was ok but they got our order wrong for the beef tongue skewers. They were able to fix that but also got it wrong on the check too. Still fixed but a bit of a hassle. Food wise was ok. They have some items that were quite good like the beef tongue skewers and chicken karage. However the sauce for the chicken skewers and hamburger was way too salty. It helps if you wash it down with alcohol but it's kind of hard to eat otherwise. Maybe they had an off night? The meats themselves were great. It looked very well presented and heard it was amazing when friends ordered it awhile back.

Bone Marrow Ramen

We drive from PDX to LA and always stay in Elk Grove. This is close to our hotel and we were pleasantly surprised how delicious our soups and dumplings were. I had the bone marrow ramen and the broth and as flavorful and clean. Love the simplicity of the soup. My husband had a spicy traditional ramen and he enjoyed it. The dumplings were also scrumptious and fresh. The space is clean and tastefully decorated. Our service fast and friendly. We will definitely make this a favorite spot on our travels.

Decided to take a stab at Washoku located in Stonelake. It's a pretty small space and on this day, only one staff member running the floor. It was pretty busy, so we had to wait a few minutes to get seated. The have a bunch of things on their menu, but I specifically really wanted to try the pork belly skewers. And i'm so glad I did because it was absolutely delicious and melted in my mouth! Highly recommend!! The spicy Shoyu was good and filling, but definitely not spicy enough! Calamari was also delicious and we really liked the sauce on it. If you're looking for a lowkey casual spot, this is definitely a good option. Would come back!

THIS is the spot. Eat here. Ambience is good. Food is tremendous. We had two appetizers, three different entrees and a sushi roll. All fantastic. Everybody was extremely satisfied. Worth a drive from Stockton or Sacramento (we drove up from Oakley!)

Expect to wait an hour for your food after you have been seated. We arrived close to opening at noon on a Sunday and did not leave until 2pm which is when they close for lunch. We sat at the back right side of the restaurant which is where the AC is blasting so it can get very cold when seated here. We started with the Ika Maruyaki (Teriyaki grilled squid) and for $28 this was a miss. No tentacles were served and the squid did not taste very fresh. It's really not worth the price point and I don't recommend it. The next appetizer was the toro roll and I think I need to order more sushi next time. The fish was incredibly fresh with a perfect amount of rice and high quality nori. I ordered the tempura udon - you really can't go wrong with the tempura here. It has a crisply light batter that is not too thick or oily. My husband got the tonkatsu curry and this always hits. The curry is so aromatic with the warm spices and the katsu is perfectly battered and cooked.

No long wait, no chaos. Even better, I arrived before my friend, and they kindly let me sit at the table and wait for her comfortably. That level of hospitality immediately stood out. Now let's talk about the menu because they truly cater to everyone: * Plenty of vegetarian options * Chicken broth ramen for those who prefer it * Rich, flavorful pork broth ramen for traditional ramen lovers It's refreshing to see a ramen spot that offers variety without compromising on authenticity. And the broth... wow. That first spoonful of warm ramen broth feels like a hug. It's rich, deeply savory, and perfectly balanced not too salty, not too heavy. The kind of warmth that fills your soul and makes you slow down and savor every bite. You can taste the care and time that goes into it. The noodles were cooked perfectly springy, fresh, and satisfying and the toppings were generous and high quality. We also ordered the chicken pancakes, and they were such a pleasant surprise! Crispy on the outside, tender inside, and packed with flavor. They paired beautifully with the ramen and made the meal feel complete. The customer service was friendly and welcoming throughout. Food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the #3 Red-Tonkotsu, #11 Shio Ramen & Unagi Rice Bowl as well appetizer, Shrimp Har Gao. The #3 was creamy with a spicy, savory kick to it. The #11 was light with subtle taste, not too intense like the miso or soy sauce flavors. Both ramen were flavorful. My dish was the unagi rice which contains rice, scrambled eggs and grilled eel. The portion was pretty big, tasted buttery, and tender, with a sweet-savory balanced. It was good but I've had better, meaning that the way the eggs were made, made a difference. Just know this dish did said scrambled so I wasn't expecting the slighty beaten running eggs that im used to when eating this bowl. The shrimp har Gao was mediocre, not flavored until you dipped into the sauce. Overall, all 3 dishes were well made. Appetizers was not my favorite. Service was great!
