Rating: 2/5 stars I had mixed feelings about my recent visit. On the positive side, the half-order of fish and chips was quite good--just make sure you specifically ask for the authentic, thick-cut British chips, as they really make the dish. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was disappointing. The chicken wings, in particular, were a letdown. They lacked any crunch, and the skin was soggy and slid right off. For the price, I expect a much better-prepared wing--a proper fry to get them crispy before tossing in the sauce would make a world of difference. The pricing overall feels quite high, especially considering the counter-service model. It's frustrating to pay premium prices for a meal where you have to order at the counter. On top of that, the nickel-and-diming for extra ranch is annoying, especially when the quality of the ranch itself was inconsistent in both thickness and taste. To top it off, the service was lackluster; the bartender didn't seem very welcoming and gave the impression that they were doing the bare minimum. It's hard to justify these prices when the quality of the food and the level of service simply aren't there. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. They also got rid of the British shop. Definitely the best fish and chips around if you're willing to make the hike out! Located in the growing Cumming City Center by the Ampitheatre, this is the place to go for a delicious mostly-authentic chippery. The full fish filet ends up being quite large, with the other food and sides would definitely be enough to sate two. We ordered the General's Platter for two which was a full fish filet, four jumbo shrimp/prawns, six hush puppies (definitely not English), and a choice of more commonwealth style Chips or American fries. Food was overall excellent, freshly made, with authentic batter and a pretty good tartare sauce. Also with classic lemon and malt vinegar to complete the look. Staff are extremely nice and accommodating; order at the counter and they will bring to you at the table, seat yourself. Also a bar for some draughts and drinks but it was lunchtime and nobody was partaking. Store is dressed up head to toe heaps of Brit ephemera and otherwise but is super casual! Sitting and eating next to Mr. Bean was fun. Parking available on the street but probably recommended to park in the structure behind. Only problem is the store was playing American music and not the Brit classics! read more

In fact, it is no service even if they had all of the condiments in one place that would've made it better than having to walk around the room to find salt here and then pepper over there and then ask for ketchup and get an attitude. read more

I've been eyeing this spot at Cumming City Center for a while now, and finally took the plunge yesterday and went for it for a late lunch. Fantastic experience through and through! Fast casual where you order at the counter and seat yourself, and staff will bring the food out to your table. Just a few tables inside, so my guess is that a lot of people order takeout. They have a small but mighty menu filled with British staples that you would see in a proper English pub. I love that they offer two different kinds of fries depending on your mood - a thick and softer "chip" more like steak fries here in the U.S., or a thinner and crispier fry which is what I went for because I need crispy fries! They were fantastic, and so were the fried jumbo shrimp. Hushpuppies were a tad overdone for my liking, but always a nice side addition! My friend order the fish filet and said it was incredible. All of their sauces are made in house, and I tried the cocktail with my shrimp and it was delicious.The atmosphere and decor definitely gives off that vibe and adds to the whole aesthetic nicely. Excellent fish & chips!! Full portion was the right call for me. The food arrived hot, and the fryer oil was clearly fresh. We arrived at the 1130 opening on a Friday. Order at the counter and they deliver to table. Food was ready w/in 5 minutes. Loved the background tunes: Big Country, The Smiths! I like this place. It's close to the parking garage and a short walk. Feels very cozy inside and everyone seemed happy to be there. The phone booth is a hoot. My wife got the pretzel and beer cheese and it's probably the best pretzel I've ever had from anywhere. Very good. I got the General's Platter and it was really good. Fish was very good, and the shrimp were fried perfectly. Tried the curry sauce because I'd never had it before and I liked it a lot. The treason fries were good but my MIL got the traditional chips and I liked them better. read more

This was a pleasant discovery in an upscale pocket shopping center while passing through the area. Decor as expected for a British themed fish & chips pub. We got the 1/2 order, which was big enough. I got the British-style plank fries & wife got the "American-style Treason fries" (LOL). Both were good but I think we liked the slightly battered American fries a bit better. There was something about beverages that was different or not exactly what we wanted - can't remember now but give it a try if in area. read more

First time visiting this spot in Cumming City Center. After reading reviews that the fish and chips were British pub worthy. Nice location with indoor and outdoor seating, very friendly staff. We had the fish and chips which are battered with authentic imported British batter. The fish was nicely seasoned , a bit greasy and the original chips were dry but did like the other fries on the menu. It was fresh tasting , clean, and decent portion size. I would eat there again but maybe for lunch over dinner. read more

This was my first visit and I will certainly be back! Washington's has taken the previous location and elevated it in every way. The fish is better seasoned. The chips are crisper. The decor is more inviting. The menu is more appealing. Everything is an upgrade! Price for the value is right on point. The standard order comes with a large portion of food. I shared mine with my 7 year old and we were both satisfied. He also loved taking pics in the phone booth. They were not too busy when we first arrived. However, shortly after we placed our order a steady flow of customers began. They seemed to handle the orders well and I saw food coming out of the kitchen consistently. Great job! read more

Best fish and chips north of Atlanta! Food was reasonably priced and came with huge portions!! The dill tartar sauce was super flavorful and probably the best I've ever had. Great Fish and Chips. Had not been here since wrights departed and had wanted to give this place a try and am sure glad we did. Amazing ambiance to feel like a British pub, with some draft beers. Still order from the counter however. Staff were all super friendly and had some nice conversation. They are planning on adding TV's to be able to watch soccer! I found this place on yelp and yelp never disappoints! The fish and chips were fabulous! This is a super casual place. It's a walk up and order and then go find a table. They do have a very large bar inside and inside and outside seating. We had just come from a day on the lake, so it was perfect. We felt totally fine sitting outside. Prior to eating here I had never had fish at all, well aside from canned tuna (hated it) but I have always had an interest in British cuisine. We tried this place on a whim because I was starving and burnt out of the chain fast food stuff. And OMG, it was so freaking good. Went when a crowd was light after black friday sales and bad weather but the owner and staff were warm, inviting and had a great pub that made me feel like Lancaster again. The Fish was first rate chippy and the smashed peas made me fond memories with the vineagar again! Fries only solidified the great works along with a nice Guiness on top of it all to relax and enjoy a terrific meal, going back MANY times after this!!! Leave your healthcare at the door and just enjoy the extra special treat! I love fried fish and good fries. The batter here is light, crunchy and doesn't get in the way of tasting the wonderfully fresh fish. The crispy fries are great with a light coating of seasoning. They make another style, less crispy, potato fry, as well but I didn't try it. The tartar sauce here is unparalleled and I though mine was the best before having theirs. Shrimp fry is really extra large shrimp. The same batter is used for the shrimp. I'd like a more robust (different) batter for shrimp but they cooked to perfection. No rock hard shrimp here. Just tender and delicious. Again, they tasted so fresh. I can be a big eater when I hit the "It's so good" lottery. I wasn't satisfied with the half-filet portion but didn't finish my large portion of fries. That's why I got the shrimp. Next time, and there will be next time, I'm getting the full filet + shrimp and 1/2 the fries. My strategy is set and loaded for another go. The staff were very helpful with menu explanations, responding to requests, and just very nice and friendly. Dollar wise this place is reasonable for today's environment where a simple hamburger can cost $15 and every restaurant seems determined to break your wallet.
