We had a great first time visit to the Black Diamond Grill. Our waitress, Nicole, was VERY attentive. From recommendations to address food restrictions to always getting refills before we needed it, she was on it. The ambiance of the bar is the ordinary American bar. A local favorite! Haven't been in way too long, and remembered how much I love their French Onion Soup and since it is officially Fall, I thought what better time than now to welcome Fall with some warm delicious soup? I also really love their Cajun Chicken Pasta which has a nice kick to it. Huge portion, so I only get that when I'm extra hungry. I often go for the Grilled Chicken Caesar Wrap to pair with my soup (and the loaded steak fries, of course). The restaurant itself is huge, but broken up into the bar area to the right when you walk in, and main dining area to the left. Sometimes it gets super crowded (especially on the bar side) and loud, but that's to be expected at a place like this, and good for them for staying so busy. I do think the parking lot could be a bit bigger, especially for all of the other businesses and restaurants next door in the same strip. Parking can be a bit of a hassle when coming here, but great service and yummy food make it worth it. read more

I cancelled plans with my friends, left after only a beer, and went down the road to meet them all for dinner at Taco Mac, a FAR FAR more friendly place. read more

The Saturday after Thanksgiving is all about football with my family. We always go to the hot wing spot, with approximately 16 of us this time, to catch the games and although I was about 30 mins late to meet the group, there was still plenty going on. Wings and salads and apps (like pickle chips) were all over the table... I asked for a water without ice and no lemon and when the server brought it to me, it looked like it had floating debris. I just set it aside and luckily I had a water bottle with me. I wasn't really hungry so I just snacked on some of my cousins' plates - so I tried the patty melt, a gold rush wing, the fries and pickle chips and they were all ok. I would say the fries were seasoned nicely and they were the really wide ones. The patty melt was served on marble rye, which I like. The pickle chips had a breading I thought held in the grease too much and the pickles didn't stay inside the breading very well... The wing was probably the star of the show and we were told that this place had pretty good wings. So if you like wings and that's what you're going to get that's, probably your best bet! Christmas Eve, Cleveland Browns are playing but unfortunately not on our network at home. We decided to go to Black Diamond Grill to watch game, get some drinks and food. Our first time coming here, we were greeted and able to get a table where we could watch our game we came to see. Started off with margaritas and onion rings for appetizers. Onion rings were very good and had a very tasty sauce to dip them in. Margaritas definitely hit the spot. Inside the restaurant were a lot of college banners and luckily we were seated right under The Ohio State flag (our team)! I ordered the french dip sandwich which came with steak fries and my hubby ordered the grouper sandwich with steak fries. Everything was very good and nice size portions, I was able to take over half my order home. Good time and a Browns win!! read more

Great place to hangout with friends and family. This is a lively bar and grill offering an American menu, plus sports on TV, a game area and outdoor seating. Their menu ranges from salads to burgers to Buffalo wings. They have good selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. You will have an excellent dining experience here. This sports bar is a hidden gem. We had a private party here that was originally supposed to be a party of 20, but turned out to 30 plus. We never felt rushed and got our drinks and appetizers right away. The food has always been great and consistent. Mahi Fish Tacos, and Chicken Wings, they were huge and fantastic in taste. Their house sauce was amazing and yummy. Waiters are patient and responds quickly. Our server was very attentive, polite, and adequately versed in their menu. The prices are very reasonable and affordable. Huge TV screens allover if you want to watch a game while you eat and drink. I almost skipped the place because it looks like a small strip joint place. When you walk in you realize how wrong that assumption, because this place is very huge. I look forward to trying more of the menu next time and will go again and know that it will be great. read more

This restaurant was a recommendation from my aunt and she knows how to pick good places. We were there with a small group, including a young child. Our server was great and made sure to quickly attend to our toddler diner. All the food was served fast and everyone enjoyed their food. I had the grilled chicken cordon blue and it was fantastic, alongside sweet potato fries. Be aware it does get pretty loud here. They have trivia nights and live music on some nights. read more

We had a great evening at the bar. I enjoyed the teriyaki wings based and the mozzarella sticks (I had to try them based on the great reviews!). They were awesome. I used to love this place and recommend it but they've made the huge mistake of advertising their political choices. Keep that crap to yourself! Why would you bring politics into your business? Went for dinner and paid our bill with cash. As we were walking through the parking lot we were called back by the staff that they had something to ask us. In front of the crowded bar they told us the bill we paid with was counterfeit. They insisted on taking our driver's license picture and threatened to keep the bill and destroy it. We made an alternate payment and insisted they return the bill to us. On the way out they followed us to the car and continued to take pictures. The next business day we took the bill to the bank where they confirmed it was real and that the restaurant did not know how to identify it properly. We will not be returning after this fiasco for just mediocre food. read more

I was in Cumming Georgia for work. Unfortunately, by the time I got free, it was after 9 pm. Apparently, most restaurants of the region close at that hour. But, thanks to Yelp, I located Black Diamond. Having not eaten all day, anything would do. But, I didn't have to settle. Black Diamond has an extensive number of options. I entered to discover the bar area very crowded, so I went to the separate dining area. There were still a half dozen tables of diners. I was immediately and courteously seated by Layne, who was also quick to bring me drinks. Indecisive, she pointed out both the local favorites and her personal choices off the menu. Opting for a burger, she also identified the most popular selections from that section of the menu. Though she explained it was an oddly preferred regional fav, I passed on the "peanut butter burger" and went for the "Smokehouse." BBQ, cheese, smoked bacon and crispy fried, razor thin, "onion tubes." Layne very accurately reported that medium temperature was truly medium. I always get bloody as so-called medium. My error, she was 100% accurate. Burger was near perfect medium, just a bit past, because I asked for "medium plus." And, that's exactly how the kitchen nailed it. A very good burger cooked as requested. Accompanied by a crunchy side of tater tots, I was happy. I'm critically finicky. Not the best burger I ever had. But, very good. Overall, restaurant looked clean. Big, plenty of seating. A litany of options. Reasonably priced. Average noise levels. Likely a very popular family stop. I travel with some frequency, and dine out a lot. Customer service is rarely acceptable. In Miami, most servers' attitude is I'm doing them a favor by having them permit me to be served. So, I applaud the Grill's management for its employee selection. For reiteration, I had top quality customer service from Layne, even though the restaurant seemed preparing to close, she had side work, and I was among the last, late hour diners. read more

If you are looking for a great Patty Melt, Black Diamond has the very best of any restaurant I have visited in the state of Georgia. I've tried patty melts in many different places and there is no equal ANYWHERE. Everything about this sandwich is excellent - the burger is juicy and exploding in flavor, the rye bread is perfectly balance with flavor, and grilled onions top it off. We joined some friends we were visiting in GA. I took their recommendation for the wings. Naturally I had to bite into one, or two, or three before I could honestly send a photo to Yelp with my recommendation, right? Now, this may be just me, but I usually feel like wing batter is too thick and the wings are too thin, but I was delighted to see the wings were lightly battered and the wings were meaty. Black Diamond is a go to for our family. Traditional sports bar food but very well prepared and delicious. Their mozzarella sticks are my absolute favorite from any restaurant around our house. Last night we opted to split 3 flavors of the their Boneless Buffalo Wings. They are huge and made with high quality chicken breast. The amount of breading is spot on and not overwhelming. You definitely know you are eating chicken and not just breading. We got Habanero BBQ, BBQ and Medium with Ranch and Blue Cheese. The dressings were good as well. My other favorite menu item is their Reuben Sandwich. Service is always attentive and the owner does so much to support community sports and schools! read more

We have been regulars at Black Diamond, mostly for Thursday night trivia, for the past 4+ years. Our group ranges from between 5 to 8 people. The last few times we have visited, there has been a very noticable decline in the service and food quality. We have also had a few run-ins with the manager about reservations (which they no longer take for a very busy Thursday night) and seating so that we can hear and participate in the game. Last night will be our last night at Black Diamond. Our group was 7 and while the food quality was okay, it was very late. When we finally got our bill, we noticed that they had added a 20% gratuity PLUS a tax on the gratuity (which I believe is illegal). I understand that some restaurants charge for larger groups but they always inform you in advance OR have it posted on their menu. In my experience, the standard for large groups has always been 18% and there is no such thing as a "tax" on the gratuity. Furthermore, most of the restaurants allow you to dispute the tip IF the service or the food did not meet their standard or the customer's expectations. Black Diamond has never added the large group gratuity on our bills until last night, so we questioned the night manager about it. From the beginning, he was very confrontational explaining that they have always done this and that he had questioned all of the wait staff who, he said, told him they have always done this. Knowing this to be a lie, we challenged him, but he would not back down. Furthermore, he indicated that the tax on the tip was not a tax even though the bill stated it as such. We are finished with Black Diamond given our experience over the past few weeks, mostly with the manager but also with the inconsistent service we have received. I cannot recall the last time we have ever had this bad of a restaurant experience and for a manager to be so dismissive of a very legitimate customer complaint. read more

We went to Black Diamond tonight to enjoy dinner and a game of trivia. The atmosphere was great, lots of energy and noise. The food, not so much. We ordered three appetizers to share. These were chicken quesadilla, chicken nachos, and potato skins. In honor of the food I'll put it very blandly. The dishes were tasteless, hard to eat and overcooked. The chicken in both dishes was dry, and poorly seasoned. The potato skins were so overcooked they were hard, and difficult to chew. Overall, my recommendation, find someplace else for Friday night trivia. read more

My family loves this place but I really don't see what they love about it. The servers are nice I'll give them that but every single time I go I have to yell at everyone even if they are sitting across from me because of how loud it is!
