Such friendly folks, absolutely nothing fancy, but patrons dressed in all types of dress; shorts, jeans, leather, short skirts with heals, dress pants, tie-die. Pretty fun. All ages too (no kids). We came to see Spirit of Dio, $10 pp at the door. PARKING... OMG GOOD LUCK. DO NOT GO DOWN THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING- NO PARKING & you will have to back out to turn around!!!! The Hall of sparkling tassles that you enter through sets the stage for the excitement you feeli anticipating hearing a favorite band. Got a good set up for a stage. Loved the collectable guitars behind the band.. GREAT Art & concert posters cover every inch of wall. Limited seating so get there early. The wait staff hustle and keep a smile on their face. Spontaneity brought me back to the MoonShadow. Last time I was turned off by the smoke. This time I was put off by other unspecified odors. First, let me say that MoonShadow rocks. It's home to a bunch of rowdy, loving locals who appreciate a good open-mic. There's a wide variety of talent that walks through those doors, and it's nice and dark-ish and comfortable. MoonShadow still reminds me of an 80's college dorm room. And that ain't a bad thing. But wafts of bad odors really tainted the experience. To quote my wife, it's as if someone used a sour wash-towel to wipe down the seats and the tables. To me, it was like whiffs of air from a high-school locker room. Why it smells is a mystery to me, and yet the smell was undeniable. And unpleasant. Then our burgers arrived. And they were fantastic. That was one dang good burger with perfectly fried crinkle fries. I will happily return for more of that. But if MoonShadow can figure out how to clean the air in their cool, rocking establishment, this will turn into a five-star review. read more

The exterior looks like the starting point of a bad decision, which is how you know it's a perfect dive. Once you get past the 'haunted building' aesthetic, you're greeted with heavy-handed pours and an unpretentious crowd. We saw Spirit of Dio band which melted our faces. Wow, just wow! This place rocks. There's lots of great live music, mostly of the rock genre, that is free 3 nights a week (Moonshadow Monday, Wednesday Open Mic, Sunday). Friday and Saturday shows are only $5-15 a person entry for 4 hours of music. Music starts at 8 or 9 pm. The lights and sound system has been upgraded in 2024, making it even better. People dance and have a good time. The walls are covered with tons of decoration, and it all works together. "I Like You" is the bar's motto, and it's true. The staff are friendly and personable. It feels homey and fun. The patrons are friendly and the crowd accommodates ages from 21 up to people in their 70s. It's just a great place! Drinks are reasonably priced. The food portions are generous and it is the best bar food I've ever had. I always eat there. Check it out when you can. It's a gem in Tucker, GA! read more

Since moving to Tucker this by far is my favorite place to go. Everyone is friendly here, the food is amazing, and the beer prices are fantastic. Starting off, the people. Our server Erika has always been really nice and funny, even on slow nights she has time to talk with us and make jokes about things. Nikki a waiter is also very friendly and talkative. It seems all of the waitresses here are very attractive. The atmosphere of the place is good too. Live bands nearly every night especially on weekends. No big name groups just yet but local talent and some good live music always go well. They also have typical touch screen bar games as well as Keno and some slot machines. They recently renovated the place to have a larger area to fit their big screens and multiple widescreens. You'll actually be Shocked at how damn clean the bathrooms are too. The food. A friend of mine has eaten at many countries around the world and he claims this is by far the best steak he has ever eaten. Not only is the flavor amazing on every bite but you can literally SEE how well its cooked based on how you like your steak cooked. They also grill out here once a month on a Friday and cook snow crab legs and other foods and sell it at a low combo price. Tilapia here is so good here a friend of mine claimed she had a Food Orgasm. Shrimp Quesadillas may sound strange at first but they taste great. There has honestly not been a single thing on the menu that wasn't anything short of perfect. Moonshadow also has a thing you can order called The Tower. Its nearly 3 gallons of beer in a tall keg you can order for your table. It serves about 4 people and you can have any beer on the menu here. All local beers, terrapin, Sweetwater 420 and domestics are served here. The price is really good on this considering how much beer they fit in the tower. I honestly wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. There's really nothing else going on in this strip. Showing up at 530ish Friday and struggling to find a parking spot was a hint that there might be great things hidden beyond the facade, though. It's larger than it looks from outside. There's a nice big bar, a pool room, a stage tucked in the back for bands and live music, high top tables, a few arcades, and I'm sure things I missed. You can smoke inside. The bar staff and even regular patrons were super friendly and helpful with suggesting drinks and food items. And the food is much better than average bar food, and the servings are huge! My friend and I split a cheesesteak and fried pickles. SO MUCH FOOD we were sharing with our new friends at the bar! The drinks are nice and strong and reasonably priced. They seemed to get a bit stronger as the night went on so give yourself a few extra minutes before you decide that your last drink wasn't really your last drink. Ok here's the deal, this is by far the best local dive in Tucker, that being said don't ever go on Friday. Having to pay a door charge of 5$ just to eat and the bands many time suck. The bar keeps Emily Crystal, Amanda, heather and Chris are outstanding as is the cook but the guy who works the door any night there's a band is a total prick. My wife tried to go to the car to get something once and tried to run it back in the ass at the door would t let her back in and honestly she was dropping something off to me before she went home. So this ass wanted 5$ just to give me a coat. With all due respect NEVER go here on a day when they have live music. It's just not worth the hassle. There is another thing as well. They changed the door charge to apply at 8 now an hour before any music starts. God forbid you want dinner your screwed! read more

Great "hole in the wall" joint that has the BEST steak in town... (just order it more rare than you normally would). I Love that they have the Atlanta Poker Club on Saturday nights AND LIVE Music! We had the best time listening to "Doug Kees and the Moonshine" Band the other week. The place can get a little crowded. But, what can you say when a place is a "happening" place. Wow cheap beer! Been here twice now and was still surprised with my final bill and how inexpensive it was. Great dive. At night there is a cover sometimes because of the bands. The food was not bad either. Had the mozzarella sticks one night and then the next time I had the special on a Friday night which was a delicious southern pork friend chicken with mashed potatoes dish. There are two ladies that bartend at moonshadow that have proven that they care about their patrons. Unfortunately i cannot remember their names. I know one just very recently was to be married. I have no doubt that they both know who i am talking about. For several reasons, im not going to name the assistance that was provided. This Place was the absolute worst experience I have ever had in any restaurant and bar in my life,my first experience the manager was pacing back and fourth behind my friend and I like a weirdo. I didn't​ know who he was so when he was making me feel uncomfortable I said is everything ok? and He goes I'm​ the manager I said ok is everything ok he was acting so strange. We were so uncomfortable we left. Then I went there another time and he came right up to me and said I was talking to loud I was like I'm in a bar ? I apologized for talking to loud. And the guy next to me was like you are in a bar what the heck was about. I said Im from NY we are loud by nature I guess.The second time I went the manager pulled me in the office and said I looked suspicious​ because someone had their jacket literally layed out across the bar and I was trying to order a drink and the jacket was covering the whole bar and I was gona move it to order a drink and figured I wait for the bartender cause I didn't​ know whos it was this was my first time in Georgia I just moved here and was so disappointed​ with how I was treated. I understand i am a New Yorker and maybe the culture is a little different. But since the day I went in there I felt personally attacked every time​. This is clearly a guy who didn't​ like me from the beginning​. I got so mad and insulated​ in pulled me in the office to show me cameras and I said ok what is this for.Number one no manager should ever pull a female customer into the office for anything its not appropiate. I thought he was showing me something about my phone cause I had lost it earlier. He said you look suspicious​ I said ok did i steal anything he said no but you have to leave you didn't​ get a chance to steal anything. I don't​ know what this guys issue with me was but I have managed restaurants and bars and certainly if I thought someone was stealing I would wait to catch them in the act and call the police and have them arrested. He clearly wanted me and my friend to acknowledge​ him the first day and we didnt and that obviously pissed him off. It was an absolute deformation of character and I am so hurt and disgusted with how this was handled. Whoever the owner is it is a really nice spot and my experience the waitress heather aside from the manager was very sweet. Apparently I am banned from there and the manager put my picture up on the wall. Which is hilarious to me. Just shows you his ego when a woman wont pay attention to him. Im sure there will be more woman in the future going forward that will complain about his disgusting behavior. But apparently none of the staff knew why.So you bann someone for looking sucipicous. I just really felt like this guy had it out from me from day one. I believe and trust that karma will prevail and im sure more woman will come forward with a simialr question. Divey for sure but clearly a fun local hang out. My husband and I came for trivia night. I liked it was relaxed and not so intense like other trivias. We got the awesomly priced burger special and bells two hearted ale also decently priced. Our server was prompt and super friendly. Its pretty smokey inside so know before heading in! Went here recently with a buddy who moved to Tucker a few months ago. I agree with other users that it is a great local and inexpensive tavern. Free pool and cheap drinks were a huge plus. However they do allow smoking indoors and people take that and then some. Within 30 min of being in there my eyes were burning. It would have been ok if there was ventilation in there. Overall I would say its a pretty good place if you want to play some pool and drink cheap beer. read more
