THAT BOY DR. CHON A JOKE and is running that place to the ground. Story below... Decided to get work done years ago, Invisalign, Dr. Chon was my primary doctor and I began seeing him during my normal visits. During my Invisalign treatment this BOY CHON really said, to forget about a perfect smile. Already taking the piss and lowering expectations for the half ass job he was about to embark on. This should've been my exit sign, but I was looking to fix my teeth and pushed through. When everything was said and done, I only saw Dr. CHON a couple times and he made sure to only answer briefly and quickly as if he was moments away from taking the biggest dump in life... I'd see his name on my appointments and paperwork but really only saw him if the procedure actually involved out-of-pocket money ($$$) and even then he'll send 2-3 minions to talk to me before asking him questions directly. Gives his patients the runaround and causes confusion so when shit hits the fan, which in most cases it will because he rushes literally everything, he has some wiggle room to slither away like the snake that he is! This actually seems to be his MO with many patients; rushes, not direct, and only passes by to make sure you see he is there but does his very best to avoid actually interacting with his patients. Once had a simple clean-up in the afternoon with his name on the appointment and he sends his assistant to take care of it. Tells them he's going to lunch while having a patient in the chair waiting to see him! Again, the appointment had his name and I think his staff by now know Dr. Chon gives zero fucks about his patients so when I leave I look at the appointment again and what do you know, they had changed the name to reflect the assistants name. In other words, his name is on the paperwork to get you in the door, half asses his work then send his assistants who know nothing about the situation to clean-up. One of my last visits they tired selling me extractions for all four of my wisdom teeth even though two of my molars grew normal, and the other two haven't caused any problems or discomfort for YEARS. They wanted almost a co-pay of $700 for the procedure and guess who's name was on the paperwork, you've guessed it - the village's clown Dr. Chon who doesn't even do oral surgery! The oral surgeon is some other dude who shows up to that place once in a blue moon. If Dr. Chon, the clown who does the bare minimum, recommends another doctor - who only shows up for the actual half ass work - and you never get to talk to any of these doctors, imagine the list of problems and the amount of work you will have to do to rectify everything. Do yourself a favor, find a better dentist. These people are too far gone.

I had never used insurance by myself before, and all I had was the insurance company number. The reason I chose this place was because It's right by my boyfriend's house, so I called and they booked an appointment for me the next day! I walk in and they give me the usual paperwork to fill out. Like I said, it was my first time filling out insurance information by myself but the staff there was super friendly and helped me through it all. The service was super professional and speedy. They answered all my newbie questions and they were super gentle with the things that go in your mouth for xrays (they've made me bleed before with other dentists). It was so frustrating. Everyone told me to wait, but the bump wasn't going away and looked gross. When I finally got in to see Dr. Yagoubian, it felt like such a relief. He saw me quickly, explained everything in a really calm, reassuring way, and removed the mucocele that same day. He then sent it to pathology and thankfully it came back benign. That peace of mind alone was worth everything. Recovery was a bit tougher than I expected, and right after the procedure I panicked thinking it was still there--but it was just swelling and bruising. Within about a week and a half, I was almost completely back to normal. His staff was honestly amazing. They were so kind, patient with my million questions, they provided clear instructions in what to do, eat and what not. I was referred to Dr. Yagoubian for a tooth extraction, bone graft and membrane. I paid a $200 consultation fee upfront which I felt should have been applied toward my procedure as standard business practice. After scheduling my procedure I decided to call my insurance Concordia myself to verify my coverage. Here is what I found: Extraction D7210 covered at 80% Bone Graft D7953 covered at 0% Membrane D7956 covered at 0% Concordia also confirmed that this office had never submitted a predetermination on my behalf. My total out of pocket for just ONE tooth extraction with bone graft and membrane was quoted at $1,900. When I factored in that I need 4 implants eventually the numbers became completely unmanageable. I also came across multiple Yelp reviews from other patients describing the exact same experience, surprise bills, no predetermination submitted and feeling misled about costs. Dr. Yagoubian is clearly a skilled and highly trained surgeon and I have no doubt about the quality of his work. However the billing and administrative practices of this office are a serious concern and patients deserve full transparency before agreeing to any procedure. My advice to anyone considering this office: Call your insurance yourself before your appointment Request a predetermination before scheduling any procedure Get all costs in writing before agreeing to anything Ask specifically what is and is not covered by your insurance I am grateful I did my research before going through with the procedure. I went in for a consultation 3 days ago and I was helped by the whole staff. I felt comfortable and like I was going to be taken care of with good heart. I was scheduled to come in for an extraction on one of my broken teeth and I was nervous.
