When I moved to my new home and needed a gate to match the existing fence, I, of course, called him. The gate matches perfectly. He did it promptly. It is so high quality and beautiful. What impressed me the most is that he offers a lifetime guarantee, and he means it. The latch on my gate broke about a year after he built it, and then again later when somebody tried to kick in my gate. It was no fault of Jason's craftsmanship (the latch was high quality, just a crummy situation that made it break!), but he immediately sent over a member of his team both times to fix it free of cost and it's worked ever since! I'm so impressed by both the quality of the work but also the humanity of the company. Jason cares about what he does and is such a kind and friendly soul!

I have had them back to do a couple modifications and gate-related things over the years, and they seem to enjoy coming back to see their previous projects years later. You can really tell they take pride in their work. I would highly recommend this company for any fencing project you may have!

Updated Review: While my initial experience with this…read morecompany was frustrating and left me questioning their reputation, I have to commend the way they ultimately handled the situation. The owner personally reached out to me--even while overseas--to listen to my concerns and make things right. Both he and the project manager communicated clearly and professionally the second time around, and they addressed all of the issues I raised within a week. The craftsmanship was corrected, the cleanup concerns were taken seriously, and I appreciated their willingness to own the missteps and follow through quickly. Not every project goes perfectly, but how a company responds makes all the difference--and in this case, they really stepped up. I'm happy to give them a full five stars for the way they resolved everything.

He was quick to set up a time to come out, review the site, and provide a detailed and descriptive estimate for the project. He even walked through and pointed out different items that I hadn't thought about in options for my fencing needs. He was great at communicating whether it was on phone, text, or email. I appreciated the great communication during the project as well. The fencing was done by a father-son team, and they were efficient, diligent, and did a high quality job. The entire job took three days which was fantastic considering it was four different households whose fences were affected. I would definitely recommend using them and would use them again in the future.

While the deck was not very large, it had some complexity including planning around a new hot tub. Jaime prepared our estimate and was the project manager. He quickly understood what we wanted and offered ideas over the course of the project. When not on site, he was available by phone at any time. Brian and Louie (spelling?) were with us for all 9 days of construction. I was very impressed by their craftmanship and willingness to work through the inevitable issues that come up. Other guys helped occasionally during the project and worked very hard. Overall, I would enthusiastically recommend Aloha! (In fact I've already given their information to my daughter-in-law.) We felt the cost was more than fair for the quality of the work. The deck will be there long after we are gone!

I put out a request for bids to multiple bidders. Lucian was not only the first to respond, but he was the only one who committed to a time to be out and evaluating the site in person. He was right on time, he physically distanced to ensure no stress of COVID, and provided excellent guidance while actively listening to my wants for the fence. Lucian was exceptionally responsive to my questions in person and in email; he provided a timely and well-detailed quote. Two weeks prior, Lucian contacted me to see if I wanted to move up the date; since I'm not going anywhere, absolutely! He showed up - again, right on time with his staff. They started and worked well into the early evening, past what I would've expected on both days. My fence was completed in two days - not only was the fence EXACTLY what I wanted/what was advertised, but the area? Cleaner than it was when the crew started. Lucian is exactly the kind of business owner I want to go out of my way to support. And his crew? Top notch, worked non-stop, and the end result is that my house looks infinitely better with this quality fencing than it could have otherwise.

I have a pit bull, which probably already tells you most of what you need to know. I got her as a…read more9 month old puppy, and she immediately made short shrift of my entire, 25-year-old (pretty rotted) perimeter fence. Not a small job, and an emergency one, because she LOVED running around the neighbors' yards. Lucian and his Dad braved the elements on extremely short notice, and built an entire new fence (mostly in the rain) for a great price. They gave me lots of upgrades, like unknotted wood, and thicker footers, and were incredibly fast and efficient. Its beautiful. That should have been enough, but - no - then my about six months later my back neighbors got their own Bernadoodle puppy, and the two dogs decided they didn't want a fence, so my pitty figured out how to pound her head against the boards until they bowed, then get her jaws on the wood, and tear through it. Lucian agreed that metal roof panels attached to the back fence would probably work (either that or an electric cattle fence), so he and his son came back out with the panels, cut them to fit, and spent a day attaching them, which - it turns out - is not as easy as it sounds. Again, quick service and excellent value. This family business, NW Modern, is fantastic, and I highly recommend them. And yes - it appears the metal roof panels are working!

Bruce was very responsive when we reached out in June for estimates on our deck replacements. His…read moreestimate was affordable and we felt assured when he came out to see the project as he commented on what was required according to code (apparently our dilapidated decks were not compliant and none of the other contractors we consulted with made mention of this). Bruce confirmed his availability for install beginning in late October at that time and we coordinated via email as that time approached. Bruce and his team do very great, thorough work. They were all very friendly and trustworthy. We are very pleased with our deck replacements and the dry rot pieces they both identified and replaced on our front support columns. Bruce also hung up our new address numbers for us at the conclusion of the project, which was a big help for us! We did not receive an invoice until the very end of the project (after 3 of 4 payments were made), but did receive one nonetheless. Despite this, we don't have any concern about Bruce and his team coming out to repair anything that should arise. Though, we don't expect that to happen based on the quality work they provided. Their focus is on their craft, not the administrative pieces of the business. I highly recommend Shaffer & Sons and will keep Bruce's contact information should we, our friends, or family members require any work completed in the future.
