Washington Broadband is the worst service I have ever received in my life and I'm almost 70 years old. When they first came out to hook up my Internet, they hooked it up wrong for the next 2 to 3 years. I had intermittent and bad service I called them almost daily Until I was told that it's just in my mind it was all my fault and then they went ahead and blame my router so I spent almost $400 on another router to find out the imbeciles wired it when they put it in so for all those years of crappy service Not only didn't say I'm sorry, but they didn't give me any money or any credit for all those years wasted and for the insults that they used on me. After they fixed it and rewired it it works decently but again there is intermittent drops for extended periods of time. That usually happens on the weekend and usually at a time when you cannot get in touch with them. Now you can call them as they suggest and leave a message at certain times and if they allow the phone to take a message most of the time it just rings may be 30 or 40 times and then hangs up, but you can do what they ask you to do and you do not receive, any type of callback or any information at all on what happened or how it can be fixed. Now last night was the topper that really shows what type of people they are. They put a message on the phone to tell everyone that lightning and machines don't mix and that they were going to test out, what I got from it is turning off their Internet and other fail, safes to stop from burning out their equipment now when you buy this, they never say nothing about them, turning off their Internet because there's a storm and the way they say it on this recorded message Paul and listen to it. It's quite funny, apparently lightning storms and thunderstorms are very new to the valley. These people claim to be here for years every year. It's the same thing. This is the first year that they've actually cut my Internet off or if there is something wrong, which I don't believe there is because my Internet just shut off. Nothing happened with my lights, electricity. The Internet just stopped And has been off since around 10 o'clock last night. I called them six times or eight times since last night I have sent them some pretty nasty emails and no response and I still have no Internet. They also talk about updating their phone messages to let us know what's going on that phone message about the thunderstorm we had last night, which lasted all but a minute, was over before midnight and yet they did not change the message and still as of 648 this morning. I have no Internet and no one has tried to get in touch with me about what's happening with my Wi-Fi. All of you know it's summer. I have six kids and grandkids here, all of them who want to use the phone or a game or watch TV all of which cannot be done without the Wi-Fi. Now it's not just Washington Broadband that is not good. Yakima Valley is one of the worst places I've ever lived. They are part of the good old boy network, if you're not part of the wealthy people that start off this valley you're not butthole buddies with them or in tight with them you cannot have a business in this valley and succeed. They price gauge and they set prices between each other so that there's no competition and they put blockades up so that new businesses cannot come into the valley and that's why I still have Washington Broadband I have very little choice in Internet carriers because Yakima County will not let new businesses in. They cannot do this if we don't allow it but apparently the people from Yakima area don't mind getting screwed over because they do nothing about it year after year. They also boast of being the original Yakima networking well I can tell you when I opened a business years ago I went to Yakima networking to get my cameras installed. I met with the owner, who promised me that it would only cost me number of dollars that was his guarantee when he sent the guy over to do the work that went up by several thousand dollars, this is the type of people that Yakima networking and Washington Broadband. No matter what I say no matter who I say it to. It doesn't seem to matter to them because there is no competition and you have nowhere else to go, but I'll tell you the truth if I had up, I would be happy I am about ready to go to one of the great big Nationwide people, even though it's going to cost me much more money well not really that much more since I'm paying $99 a month at Washington Broadband but at least I know I'll get service and at least I know I will be able to hold someone accountable when I don't get service. After my last review of Washington Broadband, I felt I must update that post. Since that time, they have upgraded in several areas and I am much happier with their service. They got connected with some fiber optic equipment and their service is more dependable, faster and provides a more stable connection than ever before. Several times I almost canceled my service with them but today, I'm glad I hung in there as I am satisfied with my Internet connection. They aren't like a big pipe cable connection but for where we live, with no access to cable, I'm happy. Update 3/1/2020: Washington Broadband has done major upgrades this past year or so. They have installed some fiber-optic lines (as promised) and it has totally changed their service. It is now faster (as fast as you're willing to pay for) and it is stable. Occasional slowdowns I can take but it's now stable enough to actually stream movies, etc. Even though it was terribly frustrating at times, I'm glad I stuck with them and will continue doing business with them. read more

I don't even know where to begin... first of all, I don't remember a single time where I got even a quarter of the speeds advertised, for most of the time it didn't even get into the megabytes. And oh my god don't even get me started on the customer service, the complete and utter headache that I had to go through countless amounts of times would be enough to make a grown man go insane. I was this goddamn close to going to their headquarters down on Nob Hill to give them a piece of my mind. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the dozens of times we had our satellites repaired only for the speeds to continue being down the toilet for the painful 5 long years that we used their internet. The fact that they're still in business is mind boggling to me, they should've been wiped out decades ago. If I could give 0 stars I would do it in a heartbeat. Even with the bad reviews, I have to give WBB 5 stars. They're the only company that would even consider coming out to my house to install internet where I live. They went out of their way to make sure I could secure the dish in a way that my landlord would allow. When my dish fell over in the wind, they came out the very next day to get it up and working again. I haven't had any issues with WBB at all. I've been with WA Broadband for a long time (20+ yrs), and have seen the ups and downs. For much of the time, they were my only option, although that has changed now. There have been times when the speeds were very inconsistent - sometimes to my advantage, as when I was getting more than twice the speed I was paying for, and sometimes the service would slow to a crawl. A couple of years ago they upgraded their equipment, and the speeds are much more consistent now - I get what I pay for, confirmed with a benchmark on the router. A few months ago I gave in to temptation, and switched to Gigabeam - they were advertising lower prices (by about $10/mo) for the same speed. Gigabeam's internet service was exactly as promised, no problems there, but their billing department was terrible! They don't have on-line payments, so you give them a credit card # over the phone (no actual office). But they'd make a mistake with my credit card number and charge me fees ($15, $50) when the card was declined. I spent hours on the phone sorting it out, everything would be OK for a month or two, and then they hit me again with a late fee and threats of being sent to collections - all because of Gigabeam's mistake! Eventually I got tired of dealing with Gigabeam's problems, and did not want to take the risk of them ruining my credit rating (by sending my bill to a collections company). So I went back to WA Broadband, and I appreciate their service a lot more now that I've tried a competitor. read more

My home is in a weird place where I can't get any other internet service provider, and I pay the highest rate for home service ($99/month). My internet has been acting up this holiday weekend, and according to the message on WBB's phone service, tech support is available from 12 pm to 6 pm today (7/3) but I called at noon and three and a half hours later I'm still having problems without a call from tech support. If I wanted to pay extra I could get though to tech support, but at the rate I pay, I don't see the need to. Since I can't get access to the internet any other way, am I locked into having unreliable service that I can't get support for? Seems like it. read more

Well where do I start! We put a 6ft fence up and the dish they put up was to low. ( The guy on the phone was really rude)So we call them they said we will move it. My wife works from home and she needs internet all day. We told them they need to come out here after she got off of work but the guy on the phone said that they couldn't come when she got off! For the price u pay it's not worth it and can't even get the speed what we payed for. The speeds are like dial up! NOT WORTH IT!!!!!! 20mbps for 100$ not worth it! worst service ive had in my life, i rarely get half the speed i pay for, internet goes up and down all day long, it is literally unusable from 12:00 to 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 12:00 am EVERY SINGLE DAY. This is 100% due to them having way too many customers in my area on the 1 tower. they charge you ridiculous prices for garbage speeds... and then almost never give you that... smh, what they do should be criminal! read more

I'll be lucky if this review posts, since my internet is in terrible shape....again. Ok, people, here's the deal with Washington Broadband, the good and the bad...everything you need to know if you are thinking about signing up. It's a two-star review, so mostly bad...if Washington Broadband wants to step up its game and get a better review, more power to them, I would gladly write a more positive review if they can improve my overall experience. The Good: If you are in a rural area around Yakima, then it might be that Washington Broadband is the ONLY service available to you. Oh, there might be some terrible satellite company, perhaps, but out where I live there is no DSL, no cable - we are up the virtual creek, and Washington Broadband comes to the rescue. That's cool - I appreciate that their service finds its way out this far. Good job! In some areas you will find a local competitor....I have no experience with any of those, because in my case WB is my only option. The Bad: First off, it is slow. If you are coming from the city get ready for whiplash. Frustrated with bogged down DSL? You'll kiss the DSL provider on the mouth after sampling wireless speeds for awhile. And cable? Our last cable connection, nothing special, was more than 10x faster than this, and cost less per month. Now, that's mostly apples and oranges, not really fair to compare the two and, as you can read above, those other options are no longer available for me, or probably for you if you're reading this. How fast do you really need? Well, for media streaming, like we do a lot of, you want 5mps....it's not amazing, but it will certainly get the job done most of the time. So that's what we signed up for, the 5mps plan. Sounds good....except... Second, the service is terribly inconsistent. The performance fluctuates constantly, rarely delivering the promised speeds for any reliable length of time. We roll with a lot of this, but when it gets too bad for too long, I call tech support. They push a few buttons and bingo, back to 5mps. For a day or two. Which, to be honest, is pretty frustrating, because it suggests that they have it in their power to improve your network performance if they would bother to check how things are going. If they would deliver the promised speeds, slow as they are, I would be a much happier camper. (For kicks I ran a speed test just now...averaged .26Mbps...yes, .26...about 5% of promised speed) Third, there is general low-level of professionalism in most interactions. I've met a couple of sharp tech guys, but the feel of the place, from billing to tech support, is odd, not much concern for the customer. We had a more serious interruption in service awhile back, leaving us without internet for a week. Tech visits were hard to schedule and days out. After another outage due to some WB equipment failure, I called to get a sense of how long we'd be down, and asked for billing adjustments for the lost service. Though promised a call back, it did not come. Only repeated calls to tech support got our service up and running again. Lame. The billing is paid in advance, so every day down is just taking our money and delivering no service in return. Some proactive problem solving and return calls would go a long way to improving this category. I am still using WB because.....well....I have to. If I had any other options, I'd use them. Which isn't a great place to be for WB, because as soon as other options open up, which they no doubt will at some point, they will have no loyal customers, only former customers. I'd be happy to upgrade this review if WB can improve the service. (I just ran another speed test...up to .98Mbps!....that means up to ALMOST 20% of what we pay for!....things are looking up already!) We switched to Washington Broadband last month and for the first time after moving to Yakima, we have been able to stream a movie and have multiple users on the internet. horrible service, always pay my bill on time and they never resolve any of my connection issues. Seems to always work fine until they close for the night. And tech support? Yeah right!! stick with your cable connections and sometimes dialup is better than this. AS I speak I have to connect via my work phone internet because the internet is out once the sun goes down!! I really wanted this to work, truly and I knew it was a gamble going with these guys based on their reviews but in the end, the reviews were spot on. They blame everyone for there lack of speeds, military, competitors and so on. I had this service for several months and had to call in dozens of times for slow speeds, DOZENS! Avoid doing business with Forbes (owner). He literally told me as I hung up canceling service that my new service provider was "unethical". Washington Broadband has some of the worst service and connection I have ever seen. Their techs are difficult to get a hold of and when you do get them, you are passed around to 'higher level' techs who rarely ever fix the issue of having a low, nonexistent or jittery connection, often times blaming the equipment or the end user for the issues while still charging full price for the horrible internet connection and speeds they provide. Save yourself the frustration and money, go find a competent ISP. read more

I have had this service for 4 or 5 years now. Have I ever had a problem? ? Rarely. A fire on ridge or a piece of equipment goes out. The kind of issues that All internet providers face. What makes this company Better than most is downtime is short and they always exceed my expectations at service level. Their service guys fix most issue's by doing some kind of login to my modem,, I live rural (far east valley)and they were the only option when I moved in. Now there are options now but I am not interested. Good uptime, solid service and good prices, They keep this up I will never leave read more
