I have lived in Yakima since 2007 and I've been a customer since that time. Until this happened.
.
I called on a Thursday and request their mobile service to remove a key from the ignition on my 1998 Saturn wagon. They hesitated and told me that Saturns aren't manufactured anymore (like I didn't know that) and that they weren't sure they could be any good.
I told them that I would appreciate it if they would, at least, come and take a look. All I was talking about was a key stuck in the ignition, not some major car repair. I was told that they would try to have someone come by and told me that the chances were that it wouldn't be until Friday before they could get anyone out to me. I told them that was fine with me. They then told me that the tech would call before he came out if he did make it today.
I did leave and took a bus downtown to shop. While I was shopping I received a call from the tech telling me that he couldn't find my place and that he was leaving. He called AFTER he had showed up, not before as I was told would happen.
The next day, Friday, I called and asked to be put on the list to have someone come out and take a look. Again I was told that Saturns aren't made anymore and that he had doubts about being able to fix what was wrong. I told him that we were just talking about a key; not some other type of repair. I assured him that I would stay home all day long and wait for the tech.
I saw no tech and I received no call all day Friday. I also didn't get to go anywhere.
On Monday I called back to see if I could be accommodated today. Again I was told that there were problems fixing Saturns and that he doubted that they would be able to help me.
With that I thanked him and hung up.
I looked online and found YAKIMA LOCK & SAFE. They were out within two hours and another 45 minutes later Jeremy had the whole ignition out and will call me as soon as he has the replacement parts for the job.
I wouldn't use VALLEY LOCK AND KEY on a bet after this. But it is nice that they are doing so well that they can afford to turn away business that is calling them, not to mention all of the bad-mouthing I will be doing on their behalf over this non-service incident. read more
