I hired SCI DOOR in yakima to install a new garage door…read more it was brought to my attention by my painters the garage door had a issue and they advised I get ahold of who installed it. (Prior to painting it) so I called SCI doors. the upper flap had been rubbing on the door on the left side and then I noticed dents in the middle of the door consistent with the door going up and down (hitting something) sci doors sent a tech out (within a few days) Dave told me there was a issue and he would turn this over to the operations manager (ignacio) to see how they want to deal with it and they would call me. Ignacio (operations manager) called me then we had appt. Set Ignacio chose to not stop by when he told me since I didn't answer the phone call when he was I. His way but yet I was home. no one advised me I had to answer his call prior to arrival for him to roll on the job. when the tech (Dave) came originally he didn't call to confirm and showed up as scheduled and now it's. problem to get someone out and for 2 weeks being told we'll try to get out there. Then Chris the owner on 12/18/23 stated pay us and we will come. When they normally come out for FREE! I was told my warranty is gone it was installed 3 years ago (by ignacio) then on 12/18/23 I called to see when someone was going to come out (been 2 weeks) cause I kept getting told (by Ignacio) he would come and he'll let me know (never got that call) now this particular day 12/18/23 I'm speaking with ignacio on the phone and the owner Chris gets on the phone (speaker) and started yelling at me and says he heard something going on so he walked into ignacio office and took over the phone call (very hostile) when I'm just trying to get an appt keep Getting pushed off for some reason. Chris (owner) proceeds to tell me they installed my garage door 6 years ago there is no warranty, they didn't Build my Home and just kept going on and on which I have no issue about the warrany. Never did I stress anything about warranty. I said Let's move forward which I tried stressing. I'm not worried about the warranty I just want to see what's going on and get it fixed so my painters can do there job. when I tried talking to Chris (owner) he wouldnt allow me to talk and continued to speak over me when I did try to talk. He was Very unprofessional as I let him know. I also asked him to stop yelling at me. Which he replied I'm on speaker I didn't think I was telling them the tone went down but then back up AGAIN. needless to say the conversation ended with Chris telling me to take my business elsewhere. He didn't want my business that he couldn't make me happy. When all I needed was an appointment to see what was going on and to stop putting me off and why?! He was very defensive as I brought up to him asking why?! I clearly know why NOW! I called another reputable garage door company who came out 12/19/23 and this company was completely unaware of my issue/conern with SCI a doors and they confirmed on a phone call and providing me a estimate with the issue and my concerns were VALIDATED! SCI DOORS of Yakima installed a garage door to big for my opening which caused damage to the door over the years. clearly SCI door is aware of this as they should have the dimensions and now it's made clear why the owner was hostile and defensive and chose to Continue to bring up warranty which was no longer valid And wanted to keep speaking of the warranty. That was install a door not the right size which has now resulted in damage. Chris continued to be a bully and stated I was I quote a " IRRESPONSIBLE HOMEOWNER " for waiting to report the issue. My defense I didn't know there was an issue. I trusted them as a professional to install the door and I saw the rubber rubbing and I did at one point earlier on call them and they came and stated it was fine there was no issue. Chris stated on the 12/18/23 phone call when he drug Dave into the speaker phone conversation "Dave it was her header, you have a problem with your header, Dave her header has probably warped over the last 6 years. Clearly putting Dave in a position that Dave didn't want to be in. He had 3 grown men on the other ended of the phone to make me feel like I was wrong for voicing my Concern about a door they installed and then didn't want to Do any business with me basically telling me to F*** OFF. But Chris said he no longer has the info/ pictures from when they came out before He asked me when they came out I asked him to pull his information he should still have in his system. That's when I was told to go elsewhere. This issue originated from SCI doors installing two large of a door for the space Very unprofessional owner and does not care about customer service and results to trying to be little his customers when you raise a concern Or if you stand up for yourself they will try to bully you. Chris said he's been doing this 38 years and never had a problem like this. This is hard to believe.

After coming to an agreement with ABH Handyman Services to finish up the work, they scheduled a worker to come out and do the work. They've been paid but it has now been over a month and a half since they were last here and the work was never finished. Apparently it is extremely hard to find anyone who is willing to actually follow-up with their word and honor an obligation once they make a commitment. I definitely will never be paying anyone for a job again until it is completely finished and I have had the chance to fully inspect it to my satisfaction!

Waited three days and called back they had measured the doors and had a quote but never got it to me. They say they mailed it out but I never recived it nor did my mother (the door was going in at my mothers) Ok e-mail me the quote all is good. Got the quote. I then decided to raise the door opening up a few feet. I delay on my part. It took a day to get it done and I called them to remeasure. They came back out and did the remeasure promptly again. But again I got no quote and called then after a couple days. The again e-mailed me a quote and i ordered it the same day 5/7/13. They said it would take a couple weeks maybe three to come in then they would get right to it. Two weeks later I have heard nothing from them so again call them. They say it wont be in untill next tuesday (ok they said it could take three weeks) and they will call me then to scheduale the install. OK back to waiting. I wait a week nothing from them so I once again call them no door. It will be in next tuesday and they will call as soon as they get confirmation that it's coming to set up install date.Ok I wait never hear from them so I call them to see if they have confirmation on the door coming in. THEY DO!!! YAY!!! 5 weeks later but it going to be here at last. They will call to set up install date. Never hear from them I call back and like usuall they say they left a message. I never got a message (i do have a machine double checked that they had my home number right and my work number as well) whatever at this point. They set up install for 6/13/13. Today is 6/14/13 no door installed. I called them this morning and of coarse they say they left me a message on the machine trying to confirm the date and got no response. GRRRRRRRRR!!!!! I tell the lady i'am not happy about this and she tells me that they needed me to confirm so they knew they would have access. I expain to her that when we set up the date I told her that the door was in a place that had no access problems and that if no one was home they could just go ahead and to the install no need to check with me first and that she said that would work. But now my door is not installed and i'am told that the next available date is the 24th. This is almost 7 weeks later (since purchase date does not include thedelay i caused). The worst part is their complete lack of communication. I had to call them every step of the way. I have checked my caller ID and no missed calls from their number. No messages were ever received that they say they left. No quotes were reseived in the mail that they say they send. I find it hard to believe that my caller ID, Voicemail, and the USPS get me everything everyone else sends me no problem but everything from Overhead Doors of yakima somehow gets lost in the mix. I hope this review does not effect my door getting installed and I even though about waiting untill afterwards to write it just to make sure but i've had enough. I will update this after they do the install to let you know how it goes.

They told me that they would update me on an ETA on certain days and they never followed through. Again, I had to call them to find out. My vehicle also got broke into in their parking lot while sitting there & things were stolen out of it. There are far better places to go, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Borderline horrible experience.
