I wish I could give 0 stars for all their incompetence.
I've had an account with U.S. Cellular for over 3 years and they have done nothing but lie to me over and over.
I don't know if their representatives just don't know what they are talking about or if they are genuinely lying to me.
For example:
- I called U.S. Cellular Customer Service about 2 months before I was moving to a new state to ask if my phone service would still work there. They claimed to look it up on their map and assured me it would work. The day I moved, I realized my phone was roaming and wouldn't use internet and that they'd lied.
When I called back about it, they said the place I moved to was "out of their service area" and my phone would not work here. I brought up the fact that they promised me it would work and they said "well sorry, it won't". They would not reconcile for their mistake in any way, so I was out a phone for 2 months, but still had to pay for it.
-Another time, in person, a representative said I could change my plan, keep all the same options and pay less. I said okay and had them give me a written quote, since they had lied to me before.
When my next bill came through, I found out she had lied again and I was being charged a HIGHER amount than my original bill.
That time I fought them, because I had my quote saying they promised the same options with a lower, monthly price and the manager said all he could do is lower the bill by giving me free phone protection services for 3 months and then I would loose all protection. So their mistake ended in me losing my phone protection plan and still having to pay a higher bill.
-Most recently, I have cancelled my plan with them; they assured me Auto pay would continue to charge me for final bill costs for one month. Three of their customer service reps. said these bills will charge for ONLY one entire month and then will refund my bank account for any time my U.S. Cellular account wasn't active over that month.
Well, the next month came and I was charged AGAIN, I called back and two more employees assured me that next month will be the final bill, we'll see.
Overall I would say DON'T use U.S. Cellular unless you want to be lied to and have to pay for THEIR mistakes over and over. read more
