I've been here so many times and the machines are amazing but I think the service just depends on who is working...but not so much that, what combination of people are working because whenever the owner is there, it's great from anyone but when he's gone, it's just flat out rude from some people. The dynamic between certain combos of employees is SO interesting. Some have a great rapport w each other and this puts the customers at ease. I just earned my MA in behavioral anlysis in industrial psychology and have worked in HR for several years so, suffice it to say, I'm a people watcher (esp in work places) and there's not much more to do there since they rarely turn the tv's on and I usually forget my computer. Even the manager can make people feel like crap...I guess she's the manager because not too long ago she shouted "I'm the boss! and later "I'm in charge!" in a very naive, unprofessional way. I found this interesting because earlier that week when I was using the large washers to clean every ounce of bedding I own, this same person was complaining to a little white-haired boy about not getting paid enough for all the obnoxious incessant texts and calls she'd get from the owner and just seemed extremely unhappy like she hates her job, in fact, I'm pretty sure she actually said that and that she can't wait to get a different job. I guess the owner was on vacation. She was actually grunting when her phone went off lol It's uncomfortable for customers to hear these conversations just out in the open in the middle of the store but I guess if they can't put soap operas on the tv, they can just act them out for our entertainment. My FIRST time there, there were two employees there...this place is COINLESS so they use money cards and even though their machine is pretty self-explanatory, we just wanted to make sure we were doing everythign right so we asked for help. One was counting the drawer getting ready to leave (short haired reddish brunette) and the other was folding laundry (skinny long haired brunette) so my husband asked the one folding laundry for help and without even saying anything to him, she told the girl counting money to help him as though she was too busy. We felt really bad for inconveniencing the girl counting the drawer because we knew she'd have to start all over and held her back from being able to end her shift but she was very sweet and very helpful and even helped us bring our laundry in and explained things to us about the machines that we didn't realize that we didn't know lol!!! When we were out at my car for the laundry, my husband tried to apologize and explain he tried to ask the other girl for help so he didn't have to inconvenience the girl trying to go home but she just brushed it off like it was nothing new and I got the feeling she doesn't take the other girl very seriously and sees past her youthful misplacement in management (like I did), so good for her. We tipped her $5 for being so cool and helpful. I don't know what is going on in that place because sometimes the employees seem really happy and other times they just seem overworked stressed out. Last week that same skinny long haired brunette who was rude to my husband responded to a customer who said he wouldn't want her job said "I don't want my job!" and then after an awkward silence pointed to the same shorter haired brunette and said "She doesn't want her job either!" and that was followed by a more awkward silence (Why I love to people watch) and a confused face by the girl who was pointed at. I couldn't help but chuckle and smh because of the other situations I've seen these two in and I just think it's a very uncomfortable working environment around this so-called manager...that's kind of what prompted my review- it made me realize how much I like this place but how uncomfortable it can be sometimes so bad that I'm tempted to find out when that manager is working so I can avoid going at those times. There's an older hispanic guy who works there and everyone I've seen him working with just seems to have a great time working around him. He's also EXCELLENT with customers. He takes a little longer than necessary to do and explain things but he's thorough and always pleasant. There's another girl there who wears glasses and she's a doll too. I've never seend or heard her be rude to anybody and she's always laughing when she's working with someone else so it makes her easy to approach. She helped me when my vending machine snack got stuck and honestly, there are other employees I probably just wouldn't have even said anythin to so as not to have to interact with them due to having a poor experience with their attitude before or there not being anyone else there to brush the work off onto. So there are 3 different employees you can be guaranteed good service from - the older hispanic guy, the tall girl with glasses, and the short girl with reddish-brown hair. read more

I had my laundry picked up at my apartment and delivered after washing. Yesterday, I stressed to the pick-up guy that I didn't want my clothes to be left at my door but delivered personally because anything will get stolen or messed with that's not nailed these days.That's the least thing one expects when they're paying 80 bucks for 3-4 bags of laundry. He said he'd make a note of that. This morning, the phone rang, I was in bed, I got up, but I didn't catch it. The message said the Wash It Kwik driver would be there shortly. I waited and waited, and then opened the front door to check on my cats. Lo and behold, the laundry was there without the driver ever ringing the bell or knocking on the door despite the previous agreement. When I talked to the owner about it, at first he was apologetic, but then, in the rapidly growing fashion of how business owners behave these days, he moved the ball in my court by trying to convince me how nobody else BUT ME minds leaving the laundry at the door. He also suggested that the delivery girl didn't want to meet me personally because the previous time I was in my underwear (actually, a pair of long athletic cotton or silk shorts that would be perfectly fine in a gym). I said, "That's crazy! Am I supposed to dress up for each and every delivery person?" I explained how the accumulation of temperature in these apartments affects the way I dress and how other businesses' delivery personnel or neighbors had never complained about it. If this girl feels threatened or if her delicate nature is offended by a 63-year-old guy in shorts, she shouldn't be in that line of work or she should have asked for someone else to do the delivery. The owner, for lack of a better argument, then lied and accused me of "cursing" even though absolutely no curse words were uttered. When I said that next time I'd do some comparison shopping regarding the delivery procedures before I ask for Wash It Kwik services, he suggested I stop doing business with them, which I wholeheartedly agreed with. Another example of information inconsistency at this place of business: when I called a few days before to establish the latest time the driver can make a pick up, I was told it was 3 p.m. I called around 2:30 yesterday, and they told me it was too late for that day. When I pointed out what they'd told me initially, they relented and sent a guy out. In the 1980's, The New Yorker magazine had an emblematic cartoon about the changing views of bringing up children and respecting elders. This young mother is getting her son ready for his first day of school, and she's saying, "And, remember, Andy, don't let your teacher mess with you!" This same attitude has creeped into almost every facet of American society as that generation of kids has become adults. Instead of saying to me as a wronged customer, " I'm sorry, sir, I'll try to get to the bottom of who dropped the ball regarding your specific request, and I'll reprimand the person(s) responsible", the Wash It Kwik owner was defending his employees with the lame excuse of, "Everybody makes mistakes."
