What a great place to get sushi for lunch. The service was quick and attentive. We placed our order and it seemed like just a few minutes our rolls were on the table. They have a lunch special, you pick any two rolls, I cannot remember what the second one was called (but it was very good), the ther roll was a spicy tuna roll. I really like spicy tuna and this was one of the best I have had. A sushi place in a small rural town like this has to be above board to make it. They definetley do a good job here. read more

Crab Rangoon was perfect. Crispy shell and slightly sweet crab cream cheese filling. The spring rolls had a nice crunch, but the vegetables all kinda mooshed together. Not terrible, but not exciting. The Wasabi was slamming. Be careful how much you use. We got the Jr. Sampler. It was ok. The seaweed for the wrap was chewy. More than enough food to leave full. The staff was very attentive. The most authentic Japanese food in Callahan. Ironically it's the only Japanese food in Callahan! Seriously though for a strip mall, hole in the wall. The spicy tuna crunch roll was okay...I've had way better. The soups were not great. There were only two tables in entire restaurant including ours and it took 20 minutes to get our order? We ordered pick-up from the Callahan store. We live in Callahan so wanted to help out the town by buying there. The bill came to $53.00. We ordered tofu, lomein, steak and veggies, chicken, dumplings and ALL and I do mean ALL were horrible. The lomein seemed like it was heated up for 2 or 3 days, it was so soft, it was gross. The steak was tough and very dry (I ordered medium rare). The tofu was beyond a score, it was little tidbits of something. Dumplings, again, were way overcooked and tasted like they had been soaking for days. Needless to say, this was our first and last time visiting this establishment. read more

Came in a week ago and 5 minutes after I arrived, some "regulars" came in. They got their food first even though they ordered the same thing we did. Ours took about 20-25 minutes. Dismissed it bc I was new to the area as far as eating lunch goes. Came back today. Waited 15 minutes for my teriyaki chicken and sushi. Chicken came out Ice cold. Server didn't come back to the table until I was ready to pay. Told her it was cold and I wouldn't be eating it. She threw it away. Came back with the check and the item was still on the check. Asked server who took my plate and threw it away instead of asking if I wanted it remade if she could take it off the bill since it wasn't eaten. She got snotty and told me no I had to pay for it. Manager came over, I explained to him what happened. He asked if I wanted it remade but at that point I didn't have time since my lunch hour was now down to minutes for me to get back. Host " greeted" us with no personality or even a slight smile. Before we barely sat down she quickly put two bowls of soup on the table. The soup was very salty and had a half slice of a mushroom in each bowl with white squishy things floating around in it. Yuck. I really enjoy their sushi. I place a pick up order quite often and my order is ready within 10-15 minutes. I would give 5 stars but recently there's been this girl who works the desk/call in orders. Service is horrible! My coworker tried to make a reservation for 11 people. Hostess said they don't do reservations, my coworker gave them the heads up on time. We showed up and of course they were not prepared. Hostess then seated us in the back with 2 tables not facing one another. Proceeded to tell my friend they can't move the tables. Then she asked someone else they were gladly able to do it. We were told to use a paper for sushi orders and then they put multiple rolls on one plate and gave us small plates.. But people were sitting in different areas... then they later separated the rolls... we had forgotten appetizers. My friend was able to get her food 20 mins later after the whole table was served. Young blonde/brown haired woman who was serving us was very rude & not friendly to our group..Will not be going back here. Sushi was good but hospitality was less than an OK. 4 stars for the consistent quality on the sushi staples we get from here & for convenience. We love the clear soup. Typically we get the tempura and Air Force rolls. Location location location for people living in Callahan. Nice to be able to get sushi that is as good as any in NE FL right here in our neck of the woods. For hibachi we would make the drive to Wasabi at the town center but we are very thankful to have sushi without having to get in traffic or cross the bridge read more

Very large sushi restaraunt with excellent service. We were 2 adults and 2 kids with one of our daughter's friends who had never had sushi before. We ordered 9 rolls w/ 6 pieces of sashimi and everything was very very good. Our family eats sushi at least once a week and noticed how fresh the sashimi was and that the prices on the rolls were about $2 less than what we pay in Fernandina. The service was great, everything came out quick, drinks were always refilled, and the clear soup was the best we ever had. Thats a little thing, but speaks to the freshness that this place brings to their offerings. Our only complaint was that the Volcano roll did not have enough topping on it. My husband and I have been going here for a little over a year but tonight we were extremely disappointed with the service. We ordered the same hibachi dinner and when the food arrived we noticed it looked different then what we've ordered in the past. The waitress came over and told us we were wrong and that we order teriyaki Not hibachi and refused to admit she wrote the order down wrong. Now the only main differences were vegetables and noddles and she didn't even offer to bring us the additional items. We have a toddler and usually split the vegetables and noodles with him so it makes a difference to us. After she left our table we heard her go back to the register area and continue to talk about how we were wrong. Very unprofessional and poor customer service. read more

I had a bad experience here about 5 years ago due to the lack of customer service at this establishment. They didn't speak English then, and they still do not now. Last night my table of 8 had all of their orders messed up and after trying to have them fixed the server just never came back. Although this is the closest Japanese eatery near me, I will drive the extra distance to avoid this place. read more
