I came here to eat and wasn't necessarily all that amazed as the portions were all of the sushi that I were super small. Maybe not the portions were that small compared to other places but they were very tiny pieces of sushi for all of that. Every time I go to St. Simon's, we carve out time to come here! I love their rolls. They are tightly rolled and the food is fresh. It's safe to say you can eat here before you go to the pier or beach with no easy access to the restroom and not have to worry about food poisoning. I can't wait to come back! Also, they had a special where you order a certain number of rolls, you get a Jimmy appetizer for free. I recommend getting the appetizer anyway! It's deep fried imitation crab sticks. We were late getting to dinner, and we're glad their kitchen is open late. The waitstaff was super friendly, and we especially enjoyed our waiter. We had a lobster roll, shrimp tempura roll, and the yellow tail appetizer. They were all perfection. Their miso soup is one of the best I've ever had. I enjoyed their ginger dressing, but it was a little on the sweet side for my taste. For entrees, we ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi, with both fried and steamed rice. It was cooked wonderfully, but the steak was a little tough, so I would recommend upgrading to the filet mignon. Definitely recommend this place. read more

I have been coming here regularly since 2015 as it was my favorite sushi spot. I am not sure what changed but I decided to drive down for dinner on 10/21 and our group ended up with food poisoning. The spider roll appeared to be the culprit as it was made completely different that any time I've had it before. Outside of being extremely sick our server was outstanding. The lady who sat my table was rather crude. It was more of a grunting communication. The rounder guy who took my friend's order did not help the situation after asking us multiple times if she understood that the fried sushi was not all the way fried. He then proceeded to look at us like we were ignorant. He didn't realize his attitude was poor until he looked at my face and realized that he shouldn't speak to customers that way. I have eaten here 6 times in the last 2 months. The staff is friendly and courteous from the start, and they want to make sure everything is as you ordered and that you enjoyed the food. They bring you a complimentary bite of the Eddy Special, which is tempura battered crab with a delicious sauce over the top. They also give you complimentary house soup which had broth, mushroom and the crunchies from tempura. We enjoyed it so much we ordered a full roll! They have a great selection of standard rolls $5; 2nd tier rolls $9.75 and specialty rolls for $12.75. This is a great option for whatever price point you want stay in. I have had rolls from all 3 options, and they were crafted with the same care and expertise. I love the spicy crab salad, and the Lucky Dragon roll is my usual! SSI Fancy Q has the greatest, friendliest accommodating staff. I am now a regular and obviously a big fan. From the moment we walk in the door, they are extremely accommodating. The sushi bar is high and the seats tend to be a little too low for somebody short waisted like myself. They are so sweet here, that they keep a booster pillow in the office for me. As soon as I walk in the door this sweet young lady miraculously has the pillow already in place for me. Equally five star worthy is the sushi chef. Compared to any other sushi restaurant I've been to in this decade, the SSI Fancy Q now has the most variety of imaginative, unique and delicious menu items and rolls. So many other Sushi bars are the typical fare, which pretty much starts all tasting the same. Not this one! It's fresh, fantastically prepared and beautiful. If you do not see it on the menu then they will be more than happy to accommodate you. No problem with special orders, if they have it they will make it. The Sashimi is very good and the pieces are extremely generous. In addition to all of the other positives that I just listed, is the surprise of complimentary small plated appetizers, which are very tasty.
