I stopped by and enjoyed a fantastic late lunch by myself. I came at a weird time (3pm) and was the only person in the restaurant. The waitress and sushi chef still gave me a great experience and took great care of me. I started with the miso soup which came out quick and hot. It was tasty and was the perfect start to my meal. I ordered 2 rolls which were the Angry Dragon and Rainbow Roll. The angry dragon was delicious and my favorite of the two. It felt like I had my own private sushi chef and server since I basically did! They patiently stood at the bar and instantly took care of my every need. It was so delicious that I debated ordering more but I was full. This place doesn't look too impressive from the parking lot but I'm glad I have them a chance!

We came to Wasabi Bistro for our anniversary and it was ok. The sushi and sashimi was good, but the inside was not at ALL what we expected. There was carpet and only a few tables, very dated. I suspect they're primarily a take out location. However, the food was good. The sashimi was fresh and tasty. The spicy maki combo hit nicely with the sashimi. We just drank water, it didn't look like they had much in the way of beverages. It's not what I expected for our anniversary, but we'd probably order takeout from them. Just not as nice for dine in.

Hate to give this place 2 stars because our waitress was really nice, service was very quick (we were the only table there on a Sunday afternoon), sushi presentation was beautiful and Instagram-worthy, and our sushi tasted pretty good for the most part (my Angry Dragon roll had an odd aftertaste but I thought it was just the soy paper; my boyfriend also complained that his Rainbow roll was good but tasted a little "off")...but I just can't justify a higher rating after both my boyfriend and I got VERY BAD food poisoning here. Not sure if the kitchen isn't clean or the fish went bad, but I don't plan to come back.

WOW. This was the freshest sushi I have had in so long!!! This was a steal for $20. Also coming with a soup! Absolutely recommend for quality fish.

I ordered take out so this is purely on food quality. Well the delivery man was nice so that's a plus Pad Thai and gyoza were delicious and on point. Sushi could be smaller with less filler though. Miso soup was alright not too good. Overall I enjoyed the food and wouldn't mind coming again when I'm in town

    Excellent takeout. Super fresh

Ordered delivery. It came within the estimated window, so no complaints there. Ordered several different maki rolls and the pork gyoza. Everything seemed super fresh and tasted delicious and the rolls were huge. I definitely think it was great for the price.

And when I sat down inside this ultra-casual restaurant - I'm pretty sure that it's a converted residential house - I only saw my fellow diners ordering sushi. So don't come here for ramen; come for an incredibly tasty, inexpensive sushi experience. I had an amazing roll, and let me tell you, the presentation is stunning. It came out sizzling on cast iron, while my server spooned garlic sauce over the top to cook it and add dazzle. Filled with avocado and spicy tuna, the portion would be perfect for sharing with someone. I also had a dynamite roll, which more or less melted in my mouth. I was less wild about the Christian crosses at every table. I'm a secular person. All in all though, Asahi qualifies as a hidden, off-the-beaten-path gem of Parsippany.

If you like garlic, withhold expectations and absolutely give it a go. The contrast was an unbelievable experience--it was crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. There was sweetness, balanced by a tiny touch of spicy from the tuna plus heavy garlic in the sauce. The roll is served on a scorching hot cast iron tray, contrasted by the cool sushi inside. Every bite was a battle of soft and crispy, sweet and spicy, hot and cool--we finished it and immediately ordered a second roll. *As a nod to another review, I will acknowledge that the room got a little smoky immediately after the Amazing Roll was served and the waitress/hostess did elastic-bungee the door open for a few minutes to clear the air, but the air was clear and the door was shut soon after. If I were to change anything about our experience here, it would only be to stop at the two other occupied tables on my way out to preach about this roll and highly recommend they give it a try. I was so shocked when I saw it that I completely neglected to get a picture, and for that I apologize. Please accept this picture of the write up as a token.

The shrimp tempura roll wasn't as warm as expected, which took away from it a bit. I placed an online order and arrived a few minutes after they opened doors. They must have made in early in advance. On the positive side, the Denville King roll was definitely the standout! Really delicious and worth ordering again. Overall, a solid experience. It is BYOB, for those who haven't yet tried it. Same experience this time, as they are so welcoming and appreciative of your business. It was lightly attended at 1pm, only two tables taken. They provided wine and beer glasses upon our request, and gave us plenty of time to peruse the menu and make our choices. I chose three cold sushi rolls, and the lobster "cooked" roll for my meal. My tablemates selected a combination of hand rolls, specialty items. Everyone was very much pleased with the time to delivery, presentation, taste. I asked for extra wasabi and was given a generous portion in a bowl. Everything was just perfect, and they surprised us with a plate containing three salmon roll pieces that were "on the house." That so rarely happens, and it really made a great impression on us. Although we agreed to meet at another sushi place next time, it's purely to experience the cuisine of a different venue and no reflection on Yama Sushi. I highly recommend this place to sushi lovers in the area. Sadly, I forgot to take any photos this time!
