This is my go to Sushi Resturant. The service is friendly, fast and efficient. The food is delicious and always as ordered. Although the menu is relatively small it is enough as it covers all the choices I want and which are usually expected in a sushi restaurant. I think the Tom Yum soup is outstanding with crisp fresh vegetables and tender pieces of scallops and sweet shrimp. Although I try to be a vegetarian I make an exception for a bowl of it each time I go. My going off my intended way of eating is not for lack of vegetarian offerings as there is an ample choice of rolls without fish or meat which I appreciate; I especially enjoy the sweet potato roll and the avocado roll. On Monday, Dec. 4th, 2023, I was bringing a few guests (it would have been 4 of us) to Wasabi for lunch in the Dash's plaza on Hopkins near Klein at around 12:30 p.m. It was obviously a very slow Monday, with only 3 other tables closer to the front of the restaurant. These tables didn't have a full view of the entire sushi bar like my friend & I did, as we were sitting in a booth directly opposite the sushi bar. While my friend & I waited for the rest of our party to arrive, we witnessed the one & only sushi 'chef' behind the sushi bar go over to the far left side of the sushi bar (Did he ignorantly think he was out of sight?) & without even looking around, stick a finger DEEP into BOTH nostrils, one after the other nostril, for a good 10 to 12 seconds each! He was twirling them & digging DEEP, like he was trying to locate his brain! It was obvious that he couldn't have cared less that what he was doing was DISGUSTING! My friend & I were absolutely STUNNED & DISGUSTED! When the rest of our party arrived, I told the others not to be seated but to wait for me. I wanted to go over to the sushi bar to see what that sushi 'chef' was now doing at his workstation. He hadn't left the sushi bar to wash his hands & I witnessed him preparing food behind the sushi bar with BARE HANDS! I went back over to my party & we all left, with everyone stating that they would never want to eat BOOGER SUSHI! I went back that evening to see the owner & explain what had happened & I was told the owner was in New York City. When I tried to explain to the person who said he was in charge (manager?) about what had happened, he tried to tell me that the person preparing sushi lunch usually wore gloves (whatever THAT meant!) & (get this!) that he himself couldn't have cared less! UNBELIEVABLE! While he was speaking to me, that person who said he was "in charge", that he "couldn't have cared less" & is also a server at both lunch & dinner, was sniffling a bit while pinching his nose from time to time the way people do to scratch an itch, as well as touching his mouth! As they say, you just can't make this stuff up! I can only assume the worst when it comes to hygiene at this 'restaurant', whether employees are working in the kitchen or wherever food is being handled &/or prepared! Are food preparation stations, counters, etc. properly cleaned??? Is food PROPERLY stored? Does the staff even wash their hands after they urinate &/or defecate??? This isn't just an incredibly & obviously unsafe, unhealthy place to eat, but it's absolutely RIPE for the spread of illness & disease! I certainly don't want COVID, flu, RSV & other contagious illnesses & diseases to be served up with what I'm eating! It makes me SICK to think of ALL of the disease & illness that could be spreading within & FROM this restaurant! Since the staff doesn't put the health of the customers first, I will never, EVER set foot in here again! Out of a sense of extreme humanitarian responsibility to our community (I consider it in a sense a part of R2P - A "Responsibility to Protect"), I've reported this to the Erie County Dept. of Health. Dim lights, nice ambiance, well spaced tables as well as booths available making it for an enjoyable meal. The rolls had a ton of flavor and were done just right. The edamame was not too salty which was nice. The seaweed salad texture was spot on and the dressing was bursting with a variety of amazing flavors. The hot sake was really smooth. We were extremely pleased with everything we had. The service was very attentive, almost to the point where it was a smidgen too much. The prices were very reasonable. I was in the area so I tried out Wasabi today. My first impression was not good. The floors needed to be vacuumed, and all the tables needed to be wiped down. My wine glass didn't seem particularly clean either. Service was a little slow, but otherwise okay. I had to wait a lot longer for my rolls than I have elsewhere, but I was the only customer at the time. That said, the rolls were great. I had the two roll lunch. They made my Philly rolls with avocado instead of cucumber. I also had the spicy salmon. They are very generous with the salmon and avocado, but a little stingy with the wasabi on the side. Some people at the office ordered lunch from here and when we went to pick it up, we were informed that we ordered from the Elmwood Village location on accident. Without asking, the hostess immediately called the other location, wrote down our exact order from them, and had the kitchen start working on making our order at the Williamsville location so that we didn't have to drive all the way to Elmwood. They didn't charge us anything extra or give us a hard time, and they did all of this without us asking to. Our order was finished in about 10 minutes and was amazing! Seriously disappointing. Went here a few years back after it opened and it was great. Was in town visiting my sister and figured we try it again. We went at lunch time on a Monday. The wait staff was inattentive. We had to track down our waitress to get our check. The green tea tasted burnt and when we sent it back, the waitress said, oh that's just how it tastes. Really? Not an apology or offer to make it again. I got several different sushi rolls and the fish was not fresh. I picked apart one roll and saw that rather than a nice slice of whole yellow tail, it was minced up with a smooth piece on top, to give the impression that it was one whole piece. I've heard nothing but good things about Wasabi, so I was a bit disappointed. I have a preggers friend who was dying for sushi, and "cooked" items aren't really featured on Sea Bar's menu. So, off to Wasabi we went. I had crunchy spicy tuna roll--fairly mild and bland for the hyped description. That Man had an entree, Grilled beef short ribs, and they were terrible. Very thin, not much flavor and fatty. My shrimp tempura entree was FABOOO and huge and yummy and I was craving fried so it was v. good IMHO. Friends thoroughly enjoyed their sushi/roll selections. I'm a huge sushi fan. I've scoured Buffalo high and low sampling all of the different sushi establishments and wasabi takes the proverbial cake. I get the 3 roll lunch special just about every time that I'm here. You get to pick from probably 12 different rolls and your choice of a soup or salad. All of this will run you about $12 or so. I usually go to the one on Hopkins and Klein in Williamsville but the one on elmwood is just as good. If you are a sushi fan, this is the best place around. read more

Of course, just as I moved to Roc. Wasabi opened. Best sushi I've had outside of NYC and Toronto. Always fresh, big portions and the service is very friendly. Try the Ocean Salad and ask them about their specials. They always have fish that's not on the menu available to try. I've eaten here dozens of times and it's been consistently spectacular. Honestly, I come here almost once a week. When I am home in the B-lo, Wasabi is my overall, favorite restaurant to visit. I first became addicted to the sushi eatery when I tried the Super Dynamite Roll at the Elmwood Village location; this crunchy sushi roll, served hot (sounds strange, but you must try it!), is to die for. When I was then told of the WIlliamsville location - much closer to my house - I gave Wasabi my patronage and loyalty. The Williamsville location of Wasabi is fantastic for both casual and formal occasions. Rich, hard-wood floors and leather booth seating makes for both a comfortable and classy visit. The restaurant always has walk-in seating available, even at its busiest times. My only complaint is of the service, which can be somewhat poor at times. Occasionally there is a language barrier, which can make ordering a bit awkward and confusing; other times, you either have a server who is too observant of your water glass levels, or just the opposite. Nonetheless, the quality of food and presentation outshines all other aspects of Wasabi Restaurant. I have yet to be turned off by a questionable plate, and am always inspired to try new sushi dishes. Their lunch special deals are also a large part of why I eat there so often; relatively priced, you receive a decently large portion of food. The complimentary mint chocolate that is provided with the bill is the icing on the cake. Wasabi definitely wins my vote for the best sushi restaurant in town! read more
