This review is from the perspective of a wedding photography team: Had it not been for the small wooden sign on the white picket fence, we would have thought our navigation system had gone mad when it announced that we had arrived at our destination. It's best not to have any expectations when you visit a place for the first time. The experience is much more worthwhile when it surprises you. As soon as you turn down the unmarked entrance to the venue you are greeted by a small green pond with a central water feature on the right and the powerful stillness of Sequoia redwoods on the left. Just as soon as it starts, the short, narrow, boulder-lined, seemingly dangerous and definitely questionable road comes to an end at the edge of a grassy lawn and beginning of beautifully landscaped grounds. When you arrive, you can immediately envision your own wedding celebration there. It's peaceful, secluded, aromatic, and naturally gorgeous. There are many highlights on the grounds. The charm factor is sky high as are the towering redwoods that create a picturesque area for commitments to be made official. There is an old, red-wheeled wagon on site, a small stage, a long twine-woven pergola strung with lights which covers a paved area perfect for dancing, and a cutesy "getting ready" cabin complete with a cutesy shelf full of wedding favors from past elopements at the woods. We look forward to photographing out first wedding at this location come May of this year, I have no doubts it will be spectacular. -Miki Vargas Photography

We chose to rent out The Meadow space near the river to have an outdoor ceremony and had an indoor reception. First off, MRCC is good for those on a budget. The hall has big glass doors that can open out onto the outdoor area, giving the room a more spacious feel. We had around 70 guests and we could have fit many more. We loved the tall ceiling and wooden beams. The kitchen area was also spacious and manageable. I very much appreciate how much flexibility the center provided us. It helped give us freedom for creativity. Many other spaces we researched allowed only beer and wine, and made you choose from a limited selection of caterers (many, if not all, were outside of our budget). We could choose any caterer we wanted, and provided our own alcohol. Jean was a treat to work with. She was funny, kind, communicative, reliable, and prompt. Whenever I had a question she responded within a few days. She met us numerous times at the center and answered all the questions I had (many times I asked the same one twice, thank you for your patience). She was very warm and made the planning process more enjoyable. As for the meth head from the previous review (from 2013) I did not run into him. I don't think he lives there anymore. I did not have any problems with non-guests. Thank you for helping us have the wedding we've always wanted!

It's an older building on the river so it's not high luxury or filled with modern convenience (like an elevator). But we loved the chalet feel, the big fire in the lobby fireplace, the decor. The newer addition houses the restaurant and bar which are very spacious. Continental breakfast was included and a good start to the day. It's quiet, warm, clean and affordably priced. Very much like little hotels we've been to in Europe. Recommend for a short trip, and suggest getting a room with a view of the river if available.

Not inviting so we sat at a high boy in the darkened bar, which was much nicer. I'm sure it's beautiful to sit on the balcony in the summer on warm nights. We chatted with the German owner who was doubling as a bartender, who was very nice. We loved the German influences in the bar, as we had just been to Oktoberfest in Munich. The owner's daughter Sarah runs the kitchen. My husband had a pork tenderloin schnitzel "Vienna style" ($20) and I had a jaegerschnizel with mushroom gravy ($20) and both were excellent. We split the potato pancakes (two with sour cream and apple sauce, $12) which were served crispy but tasty. They had a nice German beer and wine list. We finished with a delicious apple strudel to complete a lovely meal. I recommend this restaurant for tasty dinners in a unique venue.

This hidden gem winery is tucked away in the beautiful Dry Creek Valley. It is absolutely gorgeous and provides an intimate and elevated experience that is definitely worth experiencing! If you are looking for an elevated experience in wine country, look no further! There is a garden area that overlooks the vineyards that we enjoyed during our food and wine pairing and the views were spectacular. They also have a cave as well as a RTV experience if you are looking for a unique private experience away from it all. The service at this winery is excellent! Some of the tastings are with Mary Roy herself and these experiences are extra special since she is the owner, chef, and winemaker. She is an incredible woman that excels at everything she does. Thankfully for me, that includes exceptional wine and food pairings! The food is flavorful and phenomenal and they even have bees onsite where the honey is used to make their amazing chocolates! You are in for a real treat with the food and wine pairings here! Highly recommend visiting Capo Creek Winery if you are in the Healdsburg area!
