The fundraiser benefits the local schools and others in the bodega bay community. The crab feed was a all you can eat in an hour of crab cioppino, cold marinated crab, green salad, garlic bread, ice cream and danish cookies at the end of the.meal. The crab cioppino was my favourite and the salad but as usual I didn't get enough of either lol.

It gets to be messy when you're trying to crack them open and the cioppino sauce gets flying everywhere, thank goodness they give you bibs. First you get garlic bread. It's a bit chewy, but it seems to vary by batch (the first batch was probably sitting out for a while, but the second batch was hot and softer). The second is salad, which is brought out in surprisingly small amounts. The third is the crap - and there are two types. One is cold and in vinegar, the second is the cioppino. The cioppino is great! I'd never had it before and was pleasantly surprised. They don't provide drinks besides water so best bring your own, but wine or alcohol have a $2 corkage fee. The people that bring the food out to your table are volunteers so tips are encouraged. A lot of the people know each other and come in large groups. My husband and I were the only party of 2 I think. Also, if you come, don't forget to check in to the person with the clipboard, while you're waiting outside. That way, you know which table you are assigned to and can sit down right away.

The first Friday of every month Guerneville's gallery people open their doors, lay out a few munchies, a cup of something red and shmooze with visitors, townies and members of this intertwining network of people who share goals, points of view and the latest dirt on a couple of their mutual acquaintances. Well-behaved pooches are welcome and you might come upon a few surprises.I love this place and the people who brighten it and make visiting it a special experience.

We got into town and I called the museum, they did not have any time time available but told us to come on . They made an accommodation. My toddler enjoyed looking and trying to unlocking the cases. The museum was great and bigger then I had expected. The gift shop was awesome too! It was nice to see brands such as NTVS, the old Native Threads before Amy and her sister took over, also seeing the hand made jewelry from California Natives. I did recognize the jewelry even without the labels. It was a bummer that this museum is not apart of the museum for all when my husband asked. Someone should look into that and the museum be removed from the list.

My friend and I AND the entire audience had a HYSTERICAL Blast! All 4 comics were FANtastic! The headliner had me in stitches. Each comic was totally relatable and it was a nice mix. Great wood fired pizza, wine/beer bar and CLEAN comedy is a rare find and it's literally in my backyard because I live only a few miles away. And there's ample parking. No need to travel to SF, Las Vegas or NY because these comics are CRUSHING it in Wine Country! This comedy group is infamous for touring wineries, but has now called the "Laugh Cellar" home thanks to the genius duo of founders Lisa and Carlee Pidge!

The West County Museum is the little Museum that could!…read more Did you know that the building that currently houses the Hopmonk is the former Powerhouse building for the electric train that ran through Sebastopol? Did you know that Graton has been known by as many as 12 different names such as Peachtown and Hicksville but in 1906 it went by Gray's Town, after James H. Gray who helped its advancement. It was later shortened to Graton. I love this little spot in Sebastopol that showcases local West Sonoma County history. West County includes Sebastopol, Graton, Forestville, Occidental, Guerneville, Bodega Bay, Bodega, Jenner, Rio Nido, Valley Ford, Freestone, etc. This area has a history rich in farming and natural beauty. Exhibits at the museum change every few months and have included the history of apple production, the local cemeteries, local photographers and Luther Burbank. Ever wondered what Sebastopol looked like when the train went through town? Or what it was like to live on an apple farm as a 12 year old day laborer? Or what kind of curious tools were used in the picking and packing industry of days gone by? This is your spot. The train car behind the museum is filled with archived artifacts and photographs that are used to supplement the exhibits at the museum. Inside there are numerous local themed books for sale along with postcards, jewelery, etc. Photographs, maps, and drawings cover the walls. The building itself is the former train depot building, now on the National Register of Historic Places. This place is all volunteer run. All the docents are very friendly, knowledgeable and usually long time Sonoma County residents. Ask them anything! Watch for short hours. 1-4pm Thurs.-Sun. For more history go across the street to the post office. Check out the Works Progress Administration sponsored mural of Sebastopol life.

They recently had an exhibit for a year about Hippies which was interesting, but there too long. Most exhibits are there for only 3 or 4 months. The museum is so small, that if you don't read every single thing, you can go through it in 15 minutes or less. That's all it takes. At least it's free, since it's definitely not worth paying for.

Her painting are vibrant and whimsical and she hosts guest artists each month. You never know what magic will happen here at this studio. I've been back for Art Trails, purchased a painting for my sister and was inspired by Lauri and the zany New Orleans bayou feel to the location. I asked her if I could be a guest artist here and now will be part of Pie Eyed June 20th and 21st, 2015! In the meantime, I'll be popping by to check out the other artists showing.
