We chose to rent out The Meadow space near the river to have an outdoor ceremony and had an indoor reception. First off, MRCC is good for those on a budget. The hall has big glass doors that can open out onto the outdoor area, giving the room a more spacious feel. We had around 70 guests and we could have fit many more. We loved the tall ceiling and wooden beams. The kitchen area was also spacious and manageable. I very much appreciate how much flexibility the center provided us. It helped give us freedom for creativity. Many other spaces we researched allowed only beer and wine, and made you choose from a limited selection of caterers (many, if not all, were outside of our budget). We could choose any caterer we wanted, and provided our own alcohol. Jean was a treat to work with. She was funny, kind, communicative, reliable, and prompt. Whenever I had a question she responded within a few days. She met us numerous times at the center and answered all the questions I had (many times I asked the same one twice, thank you for your patience). She was very warm and made the planning process more enjoyable. As for the meth head from the previous review (from 2013) I did not run into him. I don't think he lives there anymore. I did not have any problems with non-guests. Thank you for helping us have the wedding we've always wanted!

I waited until I had another experience with a riding stable before writing this review because I…read morewanted to be sure that my experience here was not good. I have never been on a horse before this experience and have a lot of anxiety with trying new and potentially dangerous activities. I shared this with the woman who was our guide for the tour because I figured that would let her know how to interact with me as I'm trying this new thing. However, the guide was not helpful or empathetic in literally any way and when I was nervous because the horse was not following my direction (after confirming I was doing it right) she just told me "yeah they don't listen in the arena"...okay, well if the horse can't follow my direction in the arena how am I supposed to feel safe to take him on a two hour cliffside ride? Absolutely not. I ended up having a panic attack after many more attempts to direct him with no success. At that point I decided not to go on the ride because I know horses are incredibly emotionally intelligent and I did not know how my stress would impact him. In addition to not feeling safe and not feeling like my guide knew how to handle that situation. After talking to the woman who was working that day I requested a full or partial refund if possible and the owner called me and was wildly condescending. She made sure to drill it in that this experience was my fault and everyone else does just fine! So even though I knew that wasn't accurate, I let it go because the refund wasn't that important to me. Yesterday I went on another attempt to ride a horse and again I was scared. I told the guide that I've never done this and I was nervous and she was incredibly helpful and made sure I was comfortable with the horse before we left the arena even though we were on a public group ride. Something that this ranch's staff couldn't manage on a private two hour ride. So for me, the service was an easy 0. However, the location was beautiful and the lunch was decent. Wine was not for me and the gal working couldn't tell me a single thing about any of the wines. Edit: After reading the atrocious response from the business I've decided this place couldn't possibly deserve a two star rating. I wish zero stars and a PSA was an option! I would like to clarify that the ignorance from the business owners is shown clearly in that they are pretending I had ruined an experience for a group of "all other riders" when the entire group was my girlfriend (who had no problem "sitting through it") and I. I also felt I stated clearly in my review that the refund was not a major concern of mine. I don't need the money, I just don't appreciate the way these people treat customers that don't have a stellar experience. Truly disgusting. Your horse did not listen, your horse absolutely did not stay still in the arena, and your guide assured me I was following instructions and navigating just as she showed me. Your guide also stated that horses don't listen until they're on the trail (which is a ridiculous statement and shoes that you do not have control of them. But again, no shade to the horses. They're beautiful and they're animals and I respect them far more than any of the staff at this point) Additionally, the wine was awful and your staff doesn't even know how to describe or recommend a single wine on the shelf. Thank you for further affirming my negative experience and showing even more unprofessional behavior! After reading other reviews and their responses to anyone who didn't leave 4/5 stars...I'm not surprised at the awful customer service!

Sounds like the other reviewer hasn't ever been to the Grove. Doesn't that make it an invalid…read morereview? A friend took me to a picnic event (open to the public) there this weekend and we had a great time. The trees are amazing and I was told it is the largest private redwood grove in the world. It was like Muir Woods, but without the tourists. Some of the members of the club performed and they were quite good. We had a great time.

I have a few documentaries about this place and I have also read a lot about the place, but I have never made it inside.......YET One day I drove there in attempt to make it inside LOL. LOL is right! I made it to the gate with no problem. I stopped and took a breath, and drove in some more. Soon after Sonoma County Sheriffs Department was there asking me to leave :-( I left with out incident. SCS Department followed me for a few miles, probably to make sure I didn't go back. NEXT TIME I WILL MAKE IT INSIDE ~LOL~

The fundraiser benefits the local schools and others in the bodega bay community. The crab cioppino was my favourite and the salad but as usual I didn't get enough of either lol.

It gets to be messy when you're trying to crack them open and the cioppino sauce gets flying everywhere, thank goodness they give you bibs. First you get garlic bread. It's a bit chewy, but it seems to vary by batch (the first batch was probably sitting out for a while, but the second batch was hot and softer). The second is salad, which is brought out in surprisingly small amounts. The third is the crap - and there are two types. One is cold and in vinegar, the second is the cioppino. The cioppino is great! I'd never had it before and was pleasantly surprised. They don't provide drinks besides water so best bring your own, but wine or alcohol have a $2 corkage fee. The people that bring the food out to your table are volunteers so tips are encouraged. A lot of the people know each other and come in large groups. My husband and I were the only party of 2 I think. Also, if you come, don't forget to check in to the person with the clipboard, while you're waiting outside. That way, you know which table you are assigned to and can sit down right away.

I will be reliving my dream wedding for all of eternity and its success was largely due to choosing the perfect venue. Literal perfection. Firstly, the value you get when booking a wedding at Flying Cloud is unmatched. We toured 5 or 6 different venues and Flying Cloud offered the best option by far. They offer coordination day of and for months leading up to the event. This alone was priceless. You NEED day of coordination at a MINIMUM to have a successful wedding and Julia was the best coordinator I could have asked for. We met Julia the first day we toured the venue and over the 10 months of planning met multiple other times and communicated via email/text without issue. Julia provides spreadsheets that keep you on track with planning and that was so helpful! With the price of the venue you also get chairs, tables, umbrellas and countless other items you would otherwise have to purchase or rent. This is a huge value. The space itself is so versatile and there were so many options for ceremony and reception space. My guests raved to me about how the venue was perfect and so beautiful. Everything was clean and well kept. The mature trees and vineyards in the front made for excellent photo backdrops. It was obvious that there is a well oiled wedding machine in place and I benefitted greatly from their experience in event planning. Flying Cloud has an extensive preferred vendor list which at first I thought may be limiting. Let me tell you that vendors don't make it on this list without proven excellence. The only vendor I had an issue with in 10 months of planning was one that was not on the preferred list. I used a DJ, photographer, bakery, florist, officiant and caterer from their list and everything was executed flawlessly. They also handle the rental order for you. We used Heirloom rentals and that was so convenient. We had access to the venue as early as we needed day of, which for me was 8AM. We also had access the day before for rehearsal and to drop off items. I dropped off so much crap (all the florals that I DIY'd, candles and hurricanes, guest favors, polaroid guest books, 2 mirrors, framed photos, potted plants, ladder ball, a ton of alcohol and more. We used 3 cars to take everything) that Julia and her staff had to display and make look good and cohesive, I was amazed how they had time to do it all and never seemed rushed or stressed. Julia also set up a s'mores station and coffee station for us which was awesome! Directly after our ceremony we went back to the bridal suite to sign our marriage license and our signature drinks and appetizers were waiting for us. This is the kind of thoughtfulness that comes with experience and true professionalism! The bridal suite was such a nice space to get ready. It was spacious and Julia had gallons of water waiting for us. There is a refrigerator, a dressing space, lots of natural light, an excellent lighted, mirrored area for hair and makeup artists, a couch, table and chairs. My hair and makeup artists raved about the space. I had 8 people getting ready with me in that space and there was plenty of room. Julia and her team worked their asses off all day for me and I am so grateful! I think she may have secret magical powers. She fielded questions all day, directed vendors, set up the entire space and did so with a smile and while being kind. She made decisions for me when I didn't want to and everything ended up perfect. There is a reason this venue has won many awards. I can't say enough good things. I'd also like to note that time spent at the venue the day before for rehearsal was 1 hour from 9am to 10am Those who may think that having other parties at the venue on the day of their event is intrusive, should consider that they also had to rehearse the day before. There was another event the day after our Saturday wedding and I did not feel anything but excitement for others who are getting to celebrate their event at this amazing venue. Lastly, when planning I appreciated the transparency. I didn't have to jump through hoops to get their pricing and event packages. We spent $9000 for a Saturday in June. Our event ran from 4pm-10pm and I was at the venue to get ready at 8AM.

I've come here a few times to see it as well as the day before for rehearsal and seeing it on the day of the wedding was unbelievable. The place completely transformed into this wonderful fairy tale enchantment that was perfect for the couple. Absolutely a charming place. They transformed this place from the ceremony with the arbor with pretty floral arrangements and rows of chairs with umbrellas to a full dining delight in round tables, linen, flowers and umbrellas. So so special. And at night with the white lights on the trees and the hanging light above the dance floor was just picture perfect! I also should mention the bridal suite is large enough for the bridal party (and then some) with a makeup/hair artist to get ready in. Thank you so much to the staff who worked here that evening, the coordinator here at Flying Cloud and a big thank you to Julia who was wonderful to work with (at rehearsal and day of wedding), so calm and she made sure everything turned out perfectly for the couple's epic day. There was hair all over the floor and in the shower drain. There were spiders and dead ants in the bath/shower area and random trash left on the room. The road noise made sleeping almost impossible except during the wee hours of the morning. The room itself is probably 30 feet from a major 4-lane road with heavy traffic. Overall for the price I was very disappointed in the state of the room itself more than anything. To the host's credit they had someone come clean the room while we were out for the day, which was much appreciated. If the property was quieter I'd probably give it another shot but the combo of issues really killed our stay.

Each bathroom even had extra amenities you wouldn't expect like make-up remover and cotton balls - such a nice touch! One thing I was worried about was the traffic noise at night, but it was not an issue at all, which just shows that the insulation renovations that were completed really were impeccable and every last comfort was thought of for their guests. Access to the kitchen and laundry facilities was also a huge plus as well for last minute weather needs! The entire property is breathtaking and there is nothing better than the sight and smell of fresh roses everywhere! Our guests raved (and even a year out they're still dropping us compliments) about how gorgeous the Belvedere lawn area and Secret Garden were, which is where we held our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. The koi pond is a hidden gem that we loved doing our first look at. Working with Jessica made planning our vision for the day feel so easy. She is so kind, responsive, generous, and professional. She and the team had also worked with many of our other vendors who were local to the area, so we felt at ease knowing everything would go just as planned on such a busy day.
